Usually I either stay mid-strip or split between the mid and south and travel to mid-strip for dinner. This time I'll be staying at Mandalay Bay and Tropicana and have challenged myself to keep to that area ( MGM / Park MGM to MB) to just to get to know it. However, I know nothing about cheap dinner places down there and looking for suggestions in the $20-$30 out the door range with or without a beer.

Food courts would be fine and may be the only option, but would like suggestions on particular spots that are especially good for the price or are different like Original Chicken Tender, etc. Also, I stay on east coast time and have dinner around 5. So, happy hours with less expensive food options would work, too.

Just got back yesterday from a week at Luxor. I went to Public House at Luxor twice. Their food is really good, and for 12 wings and fries is around 20 bucks, and if you go from 4-6 happy hour drink prices are $4-6 for beer and well drinks, and I was able to get a captain Pepsi for $5 during that time, hard to beat that price. no discount on food prices during that time. I found their wings are very good, and did the teriyaki and honey bbq. Also I tried their soups and the french onion was excellent!

Also if you need food late night go to the Burger bar in the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay, from 9-11 they do food happy hour and it was 6.95 a piece for wings, sliders, wedge salad, and mozzarella sticks. That was a great deal.

    Good luck, and have fun!

Look for the Happy Hours in all the casino restaurants in that area-great prices and great brews that are well within your price range.

Fatburger ! Just north of MGM on the same side. They have an outside bar.

I recommend the Double Fat. Open 24/7.

Public House is great, and I also always make it a point to stop at Sirrico's in NYNY every trip for a slice of pizza or two.
