Should I tell a new employer I am going to Vegas if they ask about a time off request?

?

If an employer approved time off, and asks where you are going....should you say Vegas?

  1. Absolutely...Vegas rocks! If they don't know that yet, their loss

I had no idea you were that young. Maybe it’s best to establish a reputation before you get defiant. Sorry, you are not paranoid in that position.

Tell ‘em you’re going to visit your girlfriend, Morgan Fairchild... yeah, yeah... that’s the ticket.

    Happened to me.
During the final interview I mentioned I had a non-refundable week vacation planned months in advanced and hoped there were no issues.
Yes, it was for a Vegas trip but didn't mention that.
I believe they liked that fact I was upfront and did not spring it on them afterwards.

My wife started a new job this past Monday. She told them during the second interview that she was going to Vegas around Thanksgiving. They were perfectly fine with it. Now if that works with other jobs, who knows?

It's not like anybody is going to say, no you can't have time off because you're going to Vegas. It's just that they reserve the right to judge the $h!t out of you. Which is how things are right now in late 2018 in this world as a whole. Judgy McJudgersons everywhere.

Trying to hide it may imply there is something wrong with going to Vegas.
    Tell them if they ask.

My boss is the only person I know personally who has made more trips to Vegas than I have. About half my trips include my coworker, so I do not have any issues on that front.

I would tell them where you are going, and if you want, include that it is a group gathering and that was where they chose.

I started a new job this year. I gave them a list of dates I already had off for the remainder of 2018. As I was coming from somewhere I had been long term, I had more time off booked than the new company gives per year. They approved it without question.

My company had a presence in Vegas prior to the recession and like it as much as I do. One of them was recently on a European cruise and came to show me pics of the casino in Monaco. It was not open for gambling when they were there but it was gorgeous.
