2-bedroom suites?

Planning a trip for my daughter's 21st and wondering if a 2-bedroom suite might be an option rather than two separate rooms.

What places have reasonable two-bedroom suites?

2 single rooms are always going to be cheaper than a 2br suite...but with that said, the most "reasonable" prices I've come across are for the following:

Mirage 2 Bedroom Penthouse (fwiw, the Mirage 2 Bedroom Suite is cheaper, but it's really only a 1br Suite w/ adjoining regular room)
MGM Grand 2 Bedroom Marquee Suite
Vdara 2 Bedroom Penthouse

 

I'll save the usual "define reasonable" bit and echo what Tornadobox said, that two single rooms are generally going to be much cheaper than a two-bedroom suite. Resorts don't like to make suites cheap, and I learned this from one of the top guys at Harrah's Laughlin - he explained that when suites are too cheap, people will just book one for a group of people and try to cram several people in. Which, aside from being a fire code issue, it also displaces the second resort fee they'll get from selling a second room - which, as we know, is pure profit.

Your best bet is probably the Tower Premier Two Bedroom Suite at Luxor... this has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and I'm currently seeing it at $163 per night midweek in early December (I'm MLife Pearl, so that may be a slight discount from what the public-facing rate is, just for the record). For comparative purposes, a Pyramid Queen Room is $26 per night - so if you were to get two of those either adjoining or close to each other, that still comes in at less than a third of the two bedroom suite cost.

Similarly, I'm seeing Excalibur's Two Bedroom Luxury Suite at $198 per night (though this looks a lot more dated than Luxor's two bedroom suite). Again for comparison purposes, a more "basic" room comes in at $21, putting the suite at an even greater premium here.

You'll be far ahead of the game by simply booking two rooms, but those are the least expensive two-bedroom suites I know of that would fall within the scope of "reasonable" for the average person.

 

The Cosmopolitan and Palazzo (Lago suite).

 

Check out Signature Suites at MGM. I sing their praises frequently but it really is about the best deal you can get on a decent sized suite. The walk (which has moving sidewalks) is not bad back to MGM (frankly, no different than trying to get anywhere from any other MGM room) and is completely indoors. You get access to MGM pools etc as well.

 

I agree with @notfromconcentrate 2 separate rooms.

 

I agree with Mirage. Tower suite. Penthouse suite or Hospitality suite. Mandalay Bay has a panoramic suite that we really like also.

 

Yes, Mirage 2br suites are are quite nice and very good value.

I’m not a fan of the casino but I highly recommend the Marquee Suites at the MGM grand. They’re generally pretty affordable and come with a dining table or pool table depending on need (there’s one with a billiards table but that’s an ada room). Long ass walk down the corridor though, like srsly.

Cosmopolitan ones are alright, it’s more two rooms rather than an elegant coherent suite though. I’d get a Cosmo Wraparound and the room next door if it was me, but those mgm rooms are great and you can stock up on a ton of Bulgari toiletries

2 bed sky loft at mgm if you’ve got the wedge

 

A lot of places have one bedroom suites with a connector to a regular room to make it a two-bedroom.

For real two-bedroom suites as a single unit at a non-high-roller level, the Marquee suite at MGM Grand, the Panoramic Two Bedroom at Mandalay Bay and the ones @notfromconcentrate mentioned at Luxor and Excal come to mind.

Terrace Suites and Wraparounds at Cosmo have One Bedroom connectors, but those are expensive base rooms to start with.

 

Mirage has great, and quite affordable, 2-bedroom suites.

I will offer my unsolicited opinion that you may be placing more importance on this than it deserves. Everyone thinks they want an X-Bedroom suite for their group but considering how little time you actually end up spending in the hotel room and how valuable personal space is probably going to be after a day or two, you should really consider just getting two separate rooms and not worrying about it.

Maybe it's just me but I like my personal space when I'm in my hotel room. I'd only do a connector or a multi-room suite if I was traveling with my minor children.

With that said, my opinions only worth the 1's and 0's it's written on so feel free to discard it.

In any case, Mirage is great and their 2-Bedroom suites won't let you down. That's where I would start and go up from there as budget allows.

 

I stayed in the Cosmo 2 bedroom city suite (one King, a separate and large sitting area, and 2 queens) last November.
It was for a work trip and was spacious with great views. Just putting that out there. Yes, it's more expensive but it's
not just a separated room from a bedroom. 5 people stayed in it very comfortably. 2 separate bathrooms with showers/ tubs.

 

I don't like to think that I'm getting to the crusty old bastard 'get off my lawn' stage of life, but we stayed at the Time Share Grand Desert (Harman) & Grandview (1 minute walk across the street from the SP) the past 2 years and loved them!

This, after 2 decades of being in the centre of the Strip insanity.

Especially, the quiet, making your own breaky and not being IN a Casino! Very reasonable, but perhaps counter intuitive for your purposes.

 

I highly recommend the MGM marquis suite. The walk to the room really does suck because its at the end of the hallway but well worth it. Honestly I've had that room about a dozen times over the last 3 yrs and its great. My opinion anyway.

 

A suite would definitely suit our travel group. I have a family member who has a real bad snoring problem. We went for 2 nights to AC and literally got no sleep. My daughter was not happy. Glad it was only 2 nights...

 

A few years back I stayed downtown for my one and only stay there, four of us had a two bedroom suite at the Plaza. It won’t be as fancy as some of the other suggestions, but it was cool to have bedrooms connected by a common room in the middle. I would have to look up the price paid at that time.

 

ive stayed at the mirage and mgm for 2 bedroom suites.. both are great and i find reasonably priced. yes it is slightly pricier than two rooms.. but with a party of 4/6 it made it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier to co-ordinate dinner and such.

 

We've stayed in a two bedroom suite at the Mirage, and it had two bedrooms, not an adjoining room. These suites are usually located right off the elavators. Very nice suite and reasonably priced.
