    My Trip Report

Having been to Vegas at least 50 times, and at least 40 of them alone, this was my first stay at Caesars. I have always been predominantly a poker player and I loved Bellagio's poker room, so for the last fifteen yeas I have spent 95% of my nights there. But recent changes, nickle and diming, wear on property and a less than upscale crowd drove me to try new things. I like central strip, Cosmo is too young, though I grab a few drinks there, so I tried Caesars. Before my trip I decided this trip was about comps, earning them for this trip and future trips. I'm tired of paying, and since I play less poker I decided to teach myself Double Double Bonus Poker on wizardofodds before I left. I spent maybe 30-40 hours practicing, as this was pretty much my first time playing video poker.

First Caesars...it's ok. I stayed in Augustus Tower...meh. The furnishings had a lot of wear. The bathroom didn't have a fan...not a non functioning fan...no fan. View was nice, staff was GREAT especially Mike and a young guy at the lobby bar who's name escapes me now and I feel HORRIBLE about it because homeboy coached me into about 2-3k in winnings over the weekend, Not Desomnd...crap...well anyway, those guys were great and the guy I'll call Desmond was a video poker savant. Loved those guys. The property is ok, it had more energy than bellagio but I won't lie, it was a little ghetto at night.

So after putting about 60k through the machines over threeish days at 10 bucks a spin I'm up 3k and I ask to see a host about comps. I had earned diamond starting from zero and after a three minute chat my trip was comped...no hotel bill! Whoopee!!

So now I am free sunday night, leaving in the AM and I'm really starting to think I want to stay at Wynn next time. So I head over there with 2500 in my pocket, sign up for a Red Card and sit down. I hit for 2k in the first half hour at $10 a spin and say screw it, I'm going with $25 a spin.

    Quad Aces Two Kicker

    Quad Kings

Two hours later I walked out with over 24k in my pockets. Of course I demanded cash, is there any other way? Went back to the hotel, got room service and went to bed. Caught an 11am flight home. I put about 13k though the machine in those two hours. Insane run. I hope Wynn throws me a comp to try and get my money back. I would never gamble like that on my cash, but since it was the last night, and I was up...Vegas.
