One of the cons I would add is that the casino floor is really loud. I know they all can be but the NYNY one seems excessively so.

I have rode it twice, I think it is made for old Italians from NY who stand 5'5" because I am much taller and my neck was killing me after it both times.

PRO: The Uber/Lyft pickup/dropoff is at the main valet entrance on Tropicana. Very easy in and out, I use it to get to other nearby hotels and walk from there at busy traffic times.

Don't know about the rooms because we've never stayed there, but we actually like some of the food options there. No one mentioned Greenburg Deli, which is pretty good and we also really like the Chin Chin lunch buffet. Not a huge selection, but what's there is good.

Agreed! I think that roller coaster keeps chiropractors in business. It's a rough one.

I forgot my only pro...You can pick up the WAX bus right outside and ride it to downtown where you belong.

There has been a lot of bad mouthing the NYNY Sportsbook here, but I kind of love it. No, it’s not the kind of place you’re likely to want to spend a whole day watching games, but it has its charms. It’s especially good if you want to kill an hour or two betting horses or just staring at some futures cards. And on big event days (Super Bowl, March Madness, etc) lines tend to be shorter than other places.

All I will say is that between the years 2006 and 2007 we stayed at Luxor 5 times. So we spent a lot of time over at NYNY and thought one day we would stay there.
Finally we stayed for just 1 night on Jan 9th of this year but we moved to the Mirage. We used to eat at America Cafe and Chin Chins a lot but found the service lacking.
We stayed in a Park Avenue Queen room and felt the rooms were badly in need of a remodel. Never had a winning visit to NYNY sad to say. But have always liked the vibe.

That's the first resort Cindy & I stayed at in Vegas. The gaming area (tables) seems small but there are a lot of restaurants to choose from, so you don't really have to leave the property. If I recall, there are a handful bars - just plain bars - in addition to Coyote Ugly.

On the minus side, it's at the end of the strip, kinda - and we prefer mid-strip. We liked it, we just haven't been back.

I love NYNY, it's my go to hotel to stay at so I'll have more pros than cons.

    Pros:
    - room cost
    - view is good whether you're front or back (just maybe not good for low floor rooms, but I've never been below 17)
    - Atmosphere. I've always loved the atmosphere.
    - Quick eats - lots of quick and inexpensive food options
    - Sirrico's Pizza - my first food stop every trip, no matter where I'm staying
    - Greenberg's Dehli. good sandwiches! yum!
    - Nine Fine Irishmen - Great pub with some good food options and a good 2 entrees for 1 reward on MyVegas
    - Gonzalez Y Gonzalez - Mexican food that I can eat and enjoy and my wife can too!
    - Casino/Building layout. The design, even after the "de-theme" of the casino, it's still a New York City Theme. High ceiling casino. I love coming into the Casino from the pedestrian bridges and riding down the escalator.
    - The "winding" hallways. Most hotels you walk down a straight corridor to get to your room. If your room is far from the elevator you have to take quite a few twists and turns. Some don't like that, but for me it was a fun adventure.
    - Location - I'm a south strip kind of guy. Most of my gambling is at MGM or NYNY. Easy to go between the two.
    - The Park - great place to hangout during a Golden Knights game.
    - Tom's Urban - great sized breakfast if you like a big breakfast.

    Cons:
    - Could use some updates. Nothing serious, just slap on some new paint, new carpet and new linens and I'd be fine with that.
Actually there isn't much that I don't like about the place. It could use some new lipstick. No need to make it more upscale, I like it just the way it is, just make it look newer and I'm sold.

Big PRO------Love NYNY....stayed three times in past 2 years and had no problems.

Only issue is with slow service/wait staff at Tom's Urban. As far as the hotel, fair gaming options (including $5 Craps on weekday mornings and afternoons).

Love NYNY, one of my home bases. Stayed there 6 times, never had a bad room experience. Park and Madison rooms basically interchangeable, both smallish and a bit on the older side but always clean, quiet and comfortable, at least on my stays there. Try to avoid the Century tower if you can, elevator can get hectic.

For me the biggest pro is just the vibe of the place. It always has great casino energy and it always feels like something fun is going on, unlike the morgue-like experience of walking through Aria's casino, for instance. I'm also a huge fan of Gallagher's, I think it's one of the best strip steakhouses, period. Location is great, walkways to everywhere, yadda yadda. It's just awesome.

It's one of the few resorts that when you tell people you're staying at NYNY they almost always say "oh I LOVE that place!"

I, too, am a fan of NYNY, although I haven't stayed in a room there in a bit, and I've heard they could use a little refresh. It's not where I'd go for my 25th anniversary, but it is a decent mid rollers joint with good food, reasonably priced gaming, and good Strip access if you like the South end.

Next time I go to NYNY I will take my table... maybe offset the losses at the machines.

NYNY doesn't have a true buffet.

Chin Chin is the Asian restaurant. "Chin Chin Cafe & Sushi Bar"

Stayed once. Rooms could use a refurb but, enjoyed the casino and food options. Smack in the middle of middle of the road.

    Don’t forget dueling pianos!

Stayed once last year when I went for work

    Pros:
Generally a good vibe and the employees I dealt with were pleasant
Easy strip access, and a good location for south strip
Decent table game selection with lower limits
Nine Fine Irishmen was quite good for a moderate sit down meal
48th and Crepe for breakfast was great- I was surprised by how much I liked it
I spent a lot of time at the lobby bar, and while the selection was very limited, I really liked the bartender they had on weekday afternoons: he was an average bartender (ordering a maker's on the rocks doesn't require a whole lot of skill) but was a really nice guy- not slick and charming like a lot of strip bartenders, but a young guy who seemed genuinely nice. Wish I could remember his name

    Cons:
The room: stayed in a park avenue king: small and dated, but clean with a decent sized bathroom, but small living area. Also, since I was there for work: there was a serious lack of outlets. Seems odd, but I couldn't plug in my laptop and my phone at the same time at the desk, which became an issue for me. If you have any amount of electronics that you're looking to bring, you may need a power strip or something similar
I'm not a personal fan of "the neighborhood" since I despise Excalibur, didn't like (at the time) Monte Carlo, and consider MGM to be "okay". That said, getting to Aria is a (for Vegas) short walk, so this didn't bother me quite as much, just found myself spending time either in NYNY, or 2-3 casinos away (or more)
VP bar seating: while I liked the lobby bar, it filled up in the evenings pretty quickly as there weren't that many seats. The bar in the center had more seats, but was much busier
The High Limit room: the limits are reasonable for a high limit room, but this is the one place that I found the service lacking. Bartender couldn't be bothered by myself or the one other person at the bar, and I had to flag her down for a drink (even though she was standing in front of me). The room itself was dead, but really nothing that appealing to stand out
America (the cafe/restaurant): To be fair, I never got to the point of eating here, I walked in, took a look around and at some of the food I could see on the tables, and walked right out. There was a little stand out front of it with some decent looking doughnuts, though, where I would get coffee in the AM. Speaking of-
The coffee: not good. at all. It legit may have been Folger's

Edit to add: in the end, I would absolutely stay there again, but it's not replacing my preferred hotel
