I'm looking at a trip either during NFL wild card weekend or the next weekend during the divisional round. I've never been during the playoffs (not including the Super Bowl)... are the books generally more or less busy than the regular season? It seems like it would be a bigger draw, especially since the NCAA championship is also on that Monday, but room rates are so cheap everywhere...

Yeah, I know CES is taking place Tuesday-Thursday between those two weekends, but it doesn't bleed into either, so that shouldn't affect how busy the books are during the games.

Whenever I was a CES attendee, I was told by dealers and others that the casino is not really that busy because the CES crowd is not really there to gamble. The restaurants are busy and hotels are full but not the casino.

Both WC and Divisional weekends are busy, but nothing crazy. And the NCAA championship doesn't move the needle at all. In years past, the sportsbook crowds for that game has been the same as any regular season MNF game.

Love me some playoff football in Vegas. Usually good games, cheap rates and significantly fewer people around in general. Haven't been to wild card or divisional but have been to championship weekend a few times and it was probably about the same as a normal NFL Sunday. Maybe slightly more busier.

Thanks all. Wild card Saturday/Sunday usually ends up being some of the most entertaining football of the season, so it'll be fun to also have some money on the games.

Odelay, if you're picking between WC and Divisional playoff weekends, I have to disagree with you here. WC weekend usually has the worse/blowout games. IMO, the divisional games are usually better! Last year, WC weekend was better than it has been in recent years, but just think about two years ago. Four games that were absolute clunkers. Three years ago included two blowouts and two close games that were incredibly boring. Four years ago, three of the four games were decided by more than 10 points. Just my opinion, but if you're looking for the best possible games, wait for that second weekend

He might be looking for the best possible bet. Depending on his choices.

Thought about conf championship weekend? I went a few years ago and it was one of my favorite trips to Vegas. Great crowds, but not overwhelming. Looking to go again this year.

Any of the playoff weekends would be fun, but I'm partial to the ones with more games, and games that are on Saturday and Sunday.

The conf championship games are fun to wager because the books usually offer a page or two of props on the games (which I love wagering). But having four games over two days the prior two weekends is a lot of fun too!

I agree that having games on Saturday and Sunday is ideal, but Conference Championship weekend is typically good because it's almost always the case that the next day is a holiday, so it's one more day in Vegas without needing to use a vacation day.

Vacation Days. I remember those. They’re cheap now.

I have been during wild card weekend and divisional playoff weekend and I have never witnessed a significant uptick in patronage or traffic.
