I don’t know specifically about the Cromwell but EVERY drink I’ve ever had in 34 years of going to Vegas has cost one hell of a lot more than $1. Even the thousands of ones they told me were “free”.

Somebody reported yesterday in my thread about Monday Night Football viewing that the $1 Happy Hour has ended at The Cromwell.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

We managed a couple of happy hours last trip (April) and the bands were good too.

Oh man! I was at $1 happy hour last week (Tuesday? Wednesday? they all blend together). I hope this isn't true, but I have been surprised at how long it's lasted.

It looks like the $1 happy hour has been removed from their website - now shows $3 beer and cocktails specials M-F 9AM - 8PM - which is still pretty good for Vegas.

Bird Bar has $.50 beer and $1 rum punch for happy hour daily from 5PM - 6PM --- it's a decent alternative, although the atmosphere isn't nearly as nice as Interlude @ Cromwell

@smerrian @vegasnut @Scott Blair - We drank them out of $1 Ciroc and cranberry and ruined it for everyone.

All good things seem to come to an end, but I do have good news.

Planet Hollywood has a deal at the Ocean One (think that is what it is called) grill 3 martini's for 10.00. I believe they are also top shelf to boot.

The thing I've always said is that people say casino gambling is for people who are bad at math, but people who come up with casino promotions are worse at math.

Gotta figure they never realized how much booze the average Vegas visitor could suck down in an hour. I'm still surprised the High Roller Happy Half Hour is still $35 on Groupon.

You get one spin. I'd try to average at least one drink for every 120 degrees of arc.

With lots of ice + meh liquor...how much can 3-4 drinks really cost CET even with a load for labor cost? $10 max? Even that seems high

Unless he is your personal mixer he / she is probably capable at making 30 drinks an hour? If business is there for thenorder. Wholesale liquor, ice? I don’t know about cost per. Losing money on the drinker coming in having a few and leaving. The gambler, (?) probably making a buck or 3

We had 7 pretty strong drinks in the air on the High Roller and 1 for the road when we went about 2 years ago. It was a good night!:woohoo::headbang:

@vegasnut, the band was actually really good and played all types of music, not just country (which I'm not fond of). The drinks seemed to be light on the alcohol to me, too...and yet when I stood up to walk I sure felt the room afloat. But, all in all, the company was the best part. Oh, and yes, you are old! :kill::kill:I know...No matter how old you get, I'll always be older than you. And I'm still flying at high speed!

They're charging $35 for all you can drink for about 30 minutes on the ferris wheel. The ferris wheel is a sunk cost. The marginal cost of selling you the ticket and pouring the drinks has to be pretty low relative to a $35 ticket price. Hence my point about why would they pull it from groupon - they clear $20 every time you buy that groupon.

They have mid-to-top shelf hooch on the Bar Cars. It's good stuff! If you are so inclined you can get more than your money's worth on the ride.

I do agree with @The Rumor, though... Even at the discounted price and with the occasional big guy who drinks his weight in booze, it is still a money maker for the house.
