This next trip we will be staying at the Cromwell on a Mon-Sat comp. We usually drive, but this time we will be flying. I uber/lyft regularly for work and home so I'm perfectly comfortable doing that, but have read a few threads where people have talked about the casino picking them up. I would ask my "host" these questions, but he's not the quickest and friendliest with his responses.

How does one go about arranging this? Is it usually offered up front by your host or something you request? I'm assuming that this comes out of your comp but what is the comp value? What would be a suitable tip for the driver?

I'm in no way a High Roller but usually earn between 1000-1500 pts a day on slots. We don't eat at any fancy restaurants so when I ask for back end comps, they never bat an eye clearing my tab. I guess that I'm just kind of looking to try and maximize my comps and an easy ride might be nice.

i was told the comp value for my upcoming trip is about $70 which they will deduct from my RC's.
Only two of us and probably not a stretch..maybe a town car or escalade...
i called harrahs to arrange it... they didn't offer it,but i wanted to treat myself.

tip? we may stop at the boozer so maybe $20 each

My recollection is close. My wife asked our CET host for a limo and was told it was a $65 charge to the room -- which could be adjusted based on play. I recall it was a bout $5 more for a pick-up than an drop off.

I used to have the casino provide a limo for most trips. Now unless I am traveling with others I just take an uber. CET does charge about 70 bucks each way and it goes on your room charge. Standard tip is about $20. Contact the concierge or your host and either can setup.

Thank you everyone. So it could potentially cost almost $200 roundtrip w/tip. Just need to decide if that $ is better spent on a dinner or some other comp.

The "You can bet on that" podcast just had an episode called "the uncomped limo ride", where Dr. Mike, a very high 7 stars player had the cost of the limo take from his points. His host asked him is he wanted a limo and never said it wasn't comped, then they paid for it off his points. Granted, it wasn't cash, but he's a guy who plays $100 hardways.

The rule at CET is points first and is pretty monitored in the LV market. Once points are used up then can move to consideration. Before the throng responds with but i got XXX at my local CET and they didnt.... brr brrr brr. Yup that's true, not as monitored and everyone hates that even though it is a declared standard in order to remain competitive local markets do whatever.

I believe 7* trips still get free limo and last i checked it was like an $80 comp round trip. I normally tip $20 for 1-3 people. Increasing it if im loaded or my people are especially annoying or troublesome.

From the point perspective it makes sense from a business perspective. It like having 10 million in outstanding debt thats just hanging out out there. People horde these points. Like legit horde them.. when you ask they always say they're saving up for XX trip.. Pretty much any time you use them your still able to discount that trip via what you used..and not tank your offers from wherever you are saving them up from. Also since CET can just change the rules whenever i would want these things off my book as quickly as possible from a player standpoint. I dont know how many times I have been on the end of a sad story between cancer... deployed soldiers, general illness etc.. where the points just go away due to inactivity.

I find that very interesting because usually limo rides for 7* are "front end" comps, which is exactly why I don't take it because $140 is a LOT of food . . . .

Hey, we must have the same CET host.:p which is why i haven't contacted him in the past trips.

Usually he would arrange the limo ride but as other stated it would come out of my comps and Tier credits at the end.

You could order one yourself but it ends up being about a hundred.

We decided for such a short ride the limo was not worth the cost and opted to use that money toward gaming or a nice restaurant.

Cosmo (3x), Venetian (2x) and Mirage (1x) in the last 3 years and I've never been charged for a limo ride or had points deducted.

CET deducts tier credits with comps?
Maybe that was a mistake, but if not, it certainly doesn't surprise me....

That's because CET works differently than those properties when it comes to limo rides

    I assume he meant RCs.

I went on a Seven Stars Retreat this year to Ceasars Atlantic City. This annual retreat has a complimentary roundtrip limo which we used. We flew into Philadelphia airport which is some 60 miles to AC. So the free limo was pretty useful. Does anyone know what an appropriate tip would be for that length of trip?

I assume LV meant reward credits vice TCs.

I'd say $50 minimum, but IMO $100 is more suitable since that's a long ride. Depending on time of day and traffic, I-95 and RT42 sucks.

    @Timothy Miller
I'm going to go a little OT while I might have your attention. On the topic of using points, I completely understand why RC are taken first when asking for backend comps. That being said, would you suggest converting you RC into FP the night before checking out if they are going to be taken first anyways?

On the topic of the airport ride, we've decided to just lyft. Looks to be about $20 w/tip each way which is probably what we would tip the casino driver anyways so we'll use the comps on something else. Thanks everyone for the advice, please feel free to keep adding to this thread as I really haven't seen much info on this topic.

I say the money is definitely better spent on something else such as converting it to free play.
There is nothing wrong with Uber /Lyft.

It wouldn’t hurt to ask your host. All he can say is no☺️! I tip the driver $20.
