    My Trip Report

It's that time of year again! I have to be in Vegas for work next week W-F. Life is tough some times, but I make do as best I can. Which of course means I extended the trip on both sides and am headed off first thing in the morning for ten days in paradise.

    9/28 - 9/30 - Four Queens
10/1 - Crashing with Family in Henderson
    10/2 - 10/3 - Park MGM
    10/4 - Delano 10/5 - 10/6 - The D
    10/7 -El Cortez

As you can tell, I'm willing to move around quite a bit to take advantage of comps and offers. I've got $100 resort credit at Park MGM, $100 plus free breakfast at Delano, $100 F&B at the D, and $25 F&B at El Cortez to play with.

Warning - this TR will Include:
    Lots of Video Poker
    Football Watching
    Copious Alcohol Consumption
    Cheap Eats
    A Couple Non-Gambling Days While I'm Working
    Sigma Derby
The Long-Awaited Start of Hockey Season
Truly, Truly Egregious Amounts of $.25 Video Poker

I've been pretty terrible about planning for this trip beyond booking (and obsessively rebooking) hotels. I don't even have a to-do list drawn up. Guess I know what I'll be doing on my flight tomorrow.

I'll be posting semi-live --- if you haven't followed along with me before that means lots of VP porn and near misses (so many near misses), food and drink pictures (when I remember), and general random musings are posted throughout the day.

    Ugh, mornings.

    CC382C41-AF7A-44D6-BE10-2BC049D70AC7.jpeg

No overpriced breakfast baos in this terminal, so went with an overpriced breakfast sandwich. Which was actually very good.

Would I like to make it a double for $5? You bet I do!

    1 Hour to Vegas!!!

I've spent at least some of my time doing some planning - still less than my normal, but I don't mind winging it a bit.

    Things On My To-Do List
    • Ellis Island
    • Interlude Happy Hour @ Cromwell
    • Stage Door
    • Prime Rib Special @ Siegel's
    • Underground Bar @ Mob Museum
    • Nice Dinner at Mandalay Bay w/ Aunt
    • Solo Prix Fixe w/ Wine Pairing Dinner
    • A Locals Casino in Henderson
    • Pizza Rock
And here is where I need your help. Any opinions on the following would be greatly appreciated!

    • I'm going to use my $100 RC @ ParkMGM (supposedly good at all MLife Resorts) for a nice solo dinner. Probably a pre-theater menu early dinner on Tuesday night, but I'm open. Ideally, I'd like to keep this one in the $150 range all-in. Debating the relative merits of Spago, Le Cirque, Picasso, L'Atelier. (Want to try somewhere new, but I may end up back at Michael Mina).
    • Thursday night I'm going to meet Aunt for dinner. I'll have the $100 FHR credit at Delano. Considering Rx Boiler Room, Fleur, Aureole, Rivea. Leaning towards Rx Boiler Room because I've been dying to try their chicken pot pie nuggets. Budget is pretty open on this, but I'd like to keep it under $500 all in.
    • Also, in my ventures out to Henderson, I'd like to check out a locals casino. Needs FP VP (BP, JOB, NSUD) at quarter level, preferably bartop. Bonus points for old-school character.

My plan for today is to grab lunch (and some welcome drinks) at the Centurion Lounge after landing. VP at Four Queens. Out to Henderson to have dinner with family and then back to Four Queens for more VP.

For your Henderson excursion, consider Skyline.
Or, if you like beer, hit up Lovelady Brewing in downtown Henderson and you’ve got Emerald Island and Rainbow Club casinos right there.

Perhaps I’ll run into you Downtown Vegas over the weekend. I’ll have my VMB wristband.

You can't go wrong with any of your choices! They are all really good- I have never been to L'Atelier but hear such good things about that restaurant..

Green Valley Ranch in Henderson will take care of your gambling requirements and it's a beautiful property. Hope you win lots!

I agree. It’s a nice place and they have a Pizza Rock there.

I'm moving in across the street (California) today. Maybe I'll run into you today at the fp vp machines at the 4Qs. Good luck breaking their bank!

First win of the trip - empty middle seat on the flight.

First bad beat of the trip - American Express Centurion lounge is only allowing in departing passengers.

I need to check on my work emails, so I’m in The Club at LAS for a nibble and a bite. Not sure I’ve ever been in here before but they have some seats with a nice people watching.

GVR doesn't have a "locals" vibe, in my opinion. It's a beautiful property, just not located on the strip. I love the Emerald Island in downtown Henderson for the locals feel. It does have a decent selection of good pay table VP, but not really nice bartops. You would find a nice bartop selection at either The Orleans or Gold Coast, but neither are in Henderson.

    Best of luck to you.

GVR has 8/5 BP with a progressive at the Sip Bar. It's not a bad choice at least. I like GVR quite a bit. The buffet is quite good for the price.

Got kidnapped by my aunt. We went to Rachel’s Kitchen for lunch. Out in Henderson with the family for a bit. Will be hitting up the machines later tonight.
