I thought they did AWAY with the cashback from your points?
Could only use for comps now or FP?

If cashback still there, I will cash my $500 out in October.

I was not aware you could get cash back, when I refer to my points I am referring to free play.

    Well done RF.

While not as elegant as "BConned Points", would anyone think "Tiesr Credits" might also be appropriate?

I am going to express my feelings here. I am not concerned what anyone thinks but I would like to express anyway.

My wife and I take two trips a month to IP in Biloxi. I am a blackjack player and my wife is strictly slots. We have a host because pre conversion I had 800000 card score (six month roll out). Upon conversion I was m Onyx. My wife was made Emerald. Honestly I don’t care about card scores or tier credits because my host is great to us. I won’t state the specifics but he makes our trips worthwhile.

During the “big event” weekend I could not get a suite but my host took care of me by giving me two adjoining rooms.

I have been going to IP since 2013 and we have made some very good friends in the employees and with other players. It is a good feeling walking to the table and having everyone there say “ how’s it going? Missed you last week.”

I’ve made such good employee friends that yesterday when the casinos closed because of the hurricane threat I texted everyone I could to wish them safety and prayers. That is the kind of relationship I have with the IP.

Now the weekend of the big event I played for 45000+ card score points and my wife played around 12-16000. These point post conversion are still missing from our new Tier Credit scores. The reason I am concerned about these is not at the big event several people were simply bumped up the next level till the end of this year but may have been short to retain the levels for 2019. My wife with that weekend’s play would retain emerald. I would be very close to retaining Onyx. With those points missing it will take another trip for us to reach the “retain” status.

I am not worried about it. I trust they will get it fixed even if it means working on a case by case basis.

Anyway my point. I won’t go play at another casino. I have too much invested at th IP, especially in relationships to want to start over somewhere else.

I know it’s a matter of what’s important to you. For me what I just said is important to me.

    Thanks.

Bu9418 I dont think most of the people on this board are wealthy enough to not care about 4 or 5 figures worth of money being taken away each year. I know I couldn't. I Play well over a million hands of poker a year and these changes would affect me quite a bit.

Or "Tears Credit'. But I think we still have to give the big win to Royal Flusher. That was genius.

    Lol earn not want

Your status today at the end of 2018 is your status for 2019.

In 2019 you go back to 0 tier pts.. and your start earning your 2020 status.

You obviously move up once you hit the threshold to do so

I agree with you. I’m not willing to grind through many thousands of hands of vp ... and then not get anything for it. I’ll grind them somewhere else where I can get something in return for my effort. If I had an endless supply of money I’d just play slots. It’s much easier to keep loading the machine with money and just push a button.

I wonder if it's going to be that easy? Perhaps, Boyd has figured out that they just aren't making money off of video poker players? Other casinos might just follow.

Most likely they decided they were doing well enough with slots and tables that they felt they could do fine without their VP players.

Really unlikely they had any concerns or cares they would lose VP players with this.

That's the point. How soon before other casinos follow suit?

If that's the case, it seems like it would be easier to just cut way back on the number of VP machines and replace them with slots. The VP players would have been upset but probably not as mad as essentially being told "Play video poker if you insist but we're giving you next to no points for it because that's how much we value you".

I understand your point of view, I personally Love the IP. I love the people there, I love the property, and I love the benefits I used to get as an Emerald. It is my favorite casino anywhere. Which makes this whole situation sad to me. I probably sound angry in many of my posts, but it is rooted in an awareness that an era is ending for me.

In your specific situation, they Did do right by you. Here's some math to prove it. If you previously had 800K and you are now Onyx, that means at minimum you have 50K tier. That is, At Minimum, a 6.25% conversion rate!

If they had just awarded everyone a 6% conversion rate, we would all be exactly proportional to what we formerly were.

I personally, have the equivalent of a 1.3% conversion rate. In effect, they gave you a bonus, in a proportional scale down you would be at 48,000 which is 2K short of Onyx.

I can see why you are loyal to them, they were loyal to you. They gave you effectively 380% more credit for your prior points, than they gave me.

I love the IP, but I split my play amongst 5 different properties during 2018, and I think I was penalized for it, and for the types of games I play. To be perfectly honest, I managed to re-attain my same Emerald rating for less than 25% of what it cost me to do the year before. If I know that, I'm sure they know that, and maybe they don't like people who they think are too good at earning their VIP level without paying enough for it. I can even understand that, from a business point of view. However, I didn't cheat, I just played smarter and put some effort into understanding the Loyalty program, tracking where I was rated best, watching for multiplier opportunities.

If they wanted to adjust the program to prevent people from earning Emerald too cheaply, they should have done it by making changes for the future, instead they chose to be inconsistent in the conversion on a case by case basis.

    And that isn't fair.
