    My Trip Report

    Overview:
3 days 2 nights at Ceasars with good friend Brian and his family. Brian's girlfriend was supposed to go but couldn't so I took the spot, no arguments here. This was my 2nd trip to Vegas and Brian's 5th or 6th. Stayed at the Mirage last year.

    Flight:

Flew out of Chicago Midway on Southwest on Friday 07/21. Had buddies grandma with us so instead of boarding with our "C" passes, we got preboard. Drank Vodka Redbulls on flight and watched a movie on DVD Player (greatest travel invention ever.)

    Day 1:
Landed and got a ride to Ceasars. We were supposed to have 2 beds in our room but they were out so they offered to upgrade us and the other 2 rooms in our party to suites overlooking the pool, and give us a rollaway. We took that along with spa passes and 25 bucks credit on each room. Room is awesome. This was my first time in a Vegas suite. Bathroom was the size of my house and the fact that there was a seperate toilet from the rest of the bathroom baffled both of us.
We got changed and had a drink at a bar in Ceasars. Went to the Flamingo and played some blackjack and after about an hour I was even so i decided to join Brian in the poker room. 2nd Dumbest thing i could have done. I got good cards off the deal and NOTHING came of any of them. Went through 100 bucks in about a half hour.
Went to meet some friends at ours at NY NY at the Piano bar around 2:00, walked in and heard "this is the last song of the night" so we got pissed at the girls for not knowing this and went to play slots and hang out. Got back to Ceasars and decided that with my previous cards, i could not possibly get screwed twice, sat down at a $1, $2 table and proceeded to get the same A,A A,K K,K 10,10, etc and lose all but one hand. Nothing came out on the flop so after donating 100 bucks to a guy with a very silly looking hat, I went to bed. Brian was in the room 20 minutes later. We were both asleep by 5ish

    Day 2.
Planned to get up, get some food quick and walk the strip. Didn't realize that they don't serve food besides the buffet at Ceasars between 10-11, and also didn't realize how not fun it is to walk the strip when it is 113 degrees out. Made it as far as the Mirage and decided that walking was not going to happen. We crossed the street, went to Casino Royale for a Margarita and walked through Harrah's back to Ceasars. Sat by the pool with Brian's family and made good friends with the Frozen Vodka Lemonade machine.
Had dinner reservations at 7:30 so around 4:30 I went to the room and got ready for the night. I went over to the Casino Royale and played switch em black jack for about 2 hours. I know this game is a gimmick but it is really fun and I can play for a long amount of time without losing my entire bankroll, which if you haven't noticed yet, is very very small. Broke even, had 3 beers, i consider myself a winner.
Had dinner at Toby Keith's I love this bar and grill. Loved the atmosphere (country kareoke and a Toby cover band playing) and the prices weren't outrageous. There were 12 of us and about 4 of us liked our meal. I had the Fried chicken sandwich and it was ok, some people ordered pastas and a few meatloaf. Wouldn't eat either one of those. Don't know the tab but I know it wasn't terrible.
Walked the strip a little more, diving into random casinos to refill our drinks. Made it to the venetian and had a few drinks before seeing the Volcano at the Mirage, which is time that could have been spent gambling.
Spent the rest of the night drinking and playing blackjack at Harrah's where I ended up losing another $100 but made it last a few hours. Ended up at Ceasars at which point I had been drinking since 1 and I was still not even close to half as drunk as the people coming out of Pure. I have never seen so many people line up to get into a club/bar, when there is a bar 20 yards away.
Ended up passing out in the room around 4:30ish

    Day 3
Woke up around 10ish again and decided I was destined to make it past the Venetian today. I walked down to TI and then over to the Wynn. I like the Wynn but it is a little too ritzy for me. I asked how much it was to play golf and they said it was "ONLY $500" Then, just to be a smart ass I asked if they took food stamps.
We were leaving today so we had to get our bags and put them in Brian's parents room, took care of that and found a nice Video Blackjack machine to keep us occupied. Played on it for a little over an hour and won about 20 bucks.
We realized we hadn't used our spa passes yet so we hung out in there and got ready for our flight home.

    Flight was uneventful.
As I was talking to my dad the night after I got home he mentioned he may want to go out to Vegas next weekend and that he would pay for me to go. Had I known this, I would have saved some gambling money for the next trip. Ultimate loss of the trip: not being able to go back sooner.

Didn't realize it costs $500 to play golf at Wynn. Do you know if many people go there to play?

    $500 golf????????????????????????

Even IF I played golf, I doubt seriously that I would ever concider playing a round for that much money.

yeah! I love this place, but I do have to correct you...They do not have karaoke, and the house band is a cover band, but they do not only play Toby, they play all country with a little rock here and there. :wiggle: Sounds like you had a good time. What did the snooty's at Wynn say when you asked them if they would take food stamps? Too bad you couldn't come back with your dad sooner. I'm sure it went by entirely way too fast. Thanks for sharing.

I stayed in the Palace Tower, overlooking the pool.
Toby's had different people singing songs, so i assumed it was Kareoke.
When we looked out at the golf course at WYNN, nobody was out. I think it was just too hot. When I asked if they took food stamps she just had a blank stare on her face in disbelief. Does anyone know what is going up next to the wynn and across from TI? I tried asking a cab driver and he didn't speak the best of english. It looks like a mall or mini resort? Anyone know?

Both Wynn and Venetian are building additions. Directly across from TI would be Venetian's new expansion. Wynn's "Encore" is going up north of the existing tower, so more across from New Frontier.

Here's Venetian's construction, as viewed from my 32nd floor room at TI in early July:

yeah its $500 to play and I think you have to make dinner reservations at the restaurant they have near the course just to LOOK at it. I may be wrong, but whenever I try and get a glimpse of the infamous course, Im either under dressed or dont have a reservation to enter the restaurant BUT I did notice they have a small bar that I may be able to walk into...hummmm
