What are some good restaurants that are not on the strip?
We are at JW Marriott and will be checking out at noon. Our flight leaves late tonight and we have a rental car.

Out that way check out Marche Bacchus and Vintner Grill. Just south of the airport ... Table 34.

I always like to mention Ferraro's at Paradise and Harmon. https://www.ferraroslasvegas.com/ The food and atmosphere are outstanding. Dining is casual. Easy to find...

Or... Bootlegger's http://bootleggerlasvegas.com/ also easy to find, open 24 hours and very close to the Car Rental Center. Owned by a friend and former Lt. Governor of Nevada who often sings there.

I also like breakfast or lunch at the grill room at TPC Las Vegas. Great setting and views.

For something a little different, you could check out the Divine Cafe at the Springs Preserve; it's one of my favorite casual spots in the city. You just go up the elevator from the parking lot rather than through the Preserve entrance. Here's a camera phone shot of my Monte Cristo from the last time I was there:

Capo's is also fun if you've never tried it. http://www.caposrestaurant.com/ They have an old-school Italian speakeasy vibe with a lounge singer at night and the food is good. We usually grab a groupon and do lunch there.

Pancakes at Du-Pars, at the nearby Suncoast. The best.

I don't get the fascination with Du-par's (even) in its original locale.

I don't get the fascination with Du-Pars at SunCoast, either. Babystacks and Jamms aren't all that far away for breakfast.
