I've dabbled, had a blast every time I played it. Harrah has/had it for $15 a hand.

As for OP, UTH and Pai Gow Poker. UTH strategy really isn't that complicated at all.

Poker is the only other table game I would play besides craps and black jack.

You’ll never be a true degenerate with an attitude like that.

I once did a “casino crawl” and played every table game in the Cosmo in succession. Very fun. Not profitable.

How long did you play each game?

I too started off mostly at poker/craps/BJ, but (see username) UTH is my main game nowadays. Heed the warnings though, it plays fast if you're using optimal strategy; a rule of thumb is about 4x, so $10 ante UTH will feel like $40 BJ in terms of swinginess.

It varied - longest was probably a shoe at blackjack and shortest was maybe 3 hands of casino war. It was very ad hoc. If you’ve ever left a second bar on your way to a third and declared to your friends “well, it looks like we’re on a bar crawl”, it was sort of like that.

    Any advice or strategy tips?

I understand the stakes comment - I often play $50+ blackjack so if I start at the minimum UTH ante that should be fine.

Let it Ride - its a fun easy game. I can sip on my drink and let the dealer do the work. I am not sitting at the edge of my seat counting numbers. Slow bleed - yes but if you hit - it can be big. I always watch a low pair. The 3 card bonus hits keep me playing.

Not many casinos have this game - not at Cosmo. I have been to Exaclibur, Luxor, Mirage just to play this game.

You said no Craps so I am out.
I have been researching table games for my next trip as I will be staying downtown where the table games should have lower minimums.
During my research and various practice sessions, you have to first decide if you are wanting more of a roller coaster ride or a slow grind.
If you want to sit back relax with little to no thinking and minimal loss there is a game.
If you want some excitement with potentially big hits (and potentially big losses) there is a table game for that too.

I recently started expanding from blackjack to other games after years of strictly blackjack because I have been going to vegas alot and have become friends with dealers and others so they have caused my expansion. I will often just play whatever they are dealing to chat and learn the game since they can always help and tell me how to play. My biggest suggestion is to always play the side bet in games like high card flush and 3 card poker!! You rarely win too much if you don't. In the last few months I have won 1k off the $5 side bet on both those games. That at least keeps me from losing overall but without them I would bleed out much faster. There is a newer game called DJ draw or something like that but I have only seen it at Harrahs. It is fun with 2's being wild and one joker. Every time I have played someone has hit big on the side bet...It is like a bad beat type bet. usually work 1-3k range. Overall I am glad I expanded. It is more enjoyable switching it up.

Wizard of Odds basic strategy works well: https://wizardofodds.com/games/ultimate-texas-hold-em/

    In a nutshell, it's:
Preflop, memorize the simple table at that link and always bet 4x. Basically any pair or two big cards, plus a few more Kx, Qx, Jx combos.
Post-flop, bet if you make a pair or better, or a big flush draw.
Post-river, count the dealer's outs vs. your made hand and call if there are 20 outs or less. In borderline situations you can also infer from other players' calls if there are more outs that can be removed (that's assuming that they don't just let you outright share card information, which a lot of places seem to allow anyway).

My favorite game is called "don't play".
And it has the best odds in any casino.

Pai Gow for me is an end of the night game when I don’t have much money left and want to drink or chill.

UTH is much more fun and better chance to make real money. At least in my experience. I just follow wizard of odds strategy mostly.

Four card, high flush, Mississippi, and let it ride have too much house edge for me. Money burns for me in those.

Read the thread...It’s the only way to get a decent payout in the carnival games. I’m well versed and don’t play it on a blackjack table often. I understand they are sucker bets for a reason. But this thread was not about that.

Hi Card Flush is my favorite. it all comes down to how your luck is going though, some days i cant get a break and will lose hand after hand and only win maybe 35$ bonuses :( other times i have won some good hands and nothing beats winning 300-600$ a hand multiple times during a night. Lat month i was playing and hit a 7 card flush! $1500+ from 1 hand !!! i also enjoyed for the first time Mississippi Stud last month and am looking forward to it next month. Both games are a real hit and miss and i don't recommend losing too much before moving on.

Back in the day: carribean stud poker. Lots of fun, but you don't see it much anymore. Pai Gow is a fun, low cost alternative; also can be hard to find (don't even ask me about the PG tiles; I have no clue. 3 card poker is a lot of fun, if you can stand the swings.
