Thank you. I don't have a web site, or for that matter, post many pictures on the web. I do use a picture hosting site, but I keep it private for a variety of reasons. The VMB is actually one of the few places I do post pictures, as I think the members here have an appreciation for "all things Las Vegas".

This would almost qualify for the Vintage Vegas thread, since it most definitely falls into the "Ain't there no more" category. However, it's less than a year old.

LOL, our resident shoulder-surfer thinks that the lamp post thing looks like a gallows or crucifix. :)

Pebbles, what nice memories of your parents and their 50th Anniversary! The Spring Mountain Ranch State Park sure is beautiful.
Below - Some photos of a visit my wife and I took to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park! Pebbles, I thought you might like seeing more photos of the park. Photos and description are from a trip report of mine on Vegas Message Board in July of 2017.

After our nice breakfast we drove towards the Red Rock Conservation Area to visit the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Boy, is this park beautiful and interesting! Anyone who loves the outdoors and the history of Nevada should visit this park. It only costs $9 a car to get in. You get to see mountains, have a guided tour of the park's famous ranch house and take a hike if you want on one of the park's trails. We took a stroll on the Lake Harriet Trail. This trail is less than a half of a mile long and the views you get from it are amazing.

Lake Harriet? Yes, it's there, but it has been drained and is being worked on to help it out. Something like that! [IMG]

Yer too late, although this is not one that will be that terribly missed!

It was at Sams Town, in the area long held by the steakhouse Billy Bob's. They closed Billy Bobs and opened up The Angry Butcher and Big Mess BBQ, both apparently outsourced to the same firm.

Angry Butcher appears to be surviving, but not as good as Billy Bob's.

Big Mess BBQ never caught on. Each trip they cut their hours more and more and finally closed it. It was very OK, but nothing to go out of your way for, even if out of your way means walking to the back of Sams Town court. :)

If you like BBQ, we've had good luck at Memphis on Warm Springs, and also the new place Virgil's at the Linq was not bad at all.

Ah, thanks. I've never been to Sam's Town. Maybe some day I'll make it out there.

Here is some more trivia, that I'm sure many of y'all already know.

Everyone is familiar with this famous sign, but did you ever wonder why the word "welcome" is spelled out in those circles?

Well those circles are actually copies of the 1922 Peace Dollar.

Best pretzel I ever had, Charle's Bar and Grill at the Wynn Sports Book. And the Black and Blue Burger was pretty damn good too.
