We have been loyal Plaza customers well before being
a fan of the Plaza was cool. We loved the sunspots, the original keno parlor, the original coffee shop with it's steak and lobster tail special. We lived through all the changes- chinese buffet, mini golf the hair salon with lingerie stylists, even played there when the place was just a shell during the remodel. Always the Plaza was loyal to us free with comps and rooms until recently. We spent money for their big game party- more than once, even though Binions had a much better deal (free), we've eaten at the Center Stage, as well as Oscars, the Italian restaurant that once was there, the beer garden when it existed, and pretty much everything the Plaza tried we sampled. Now I needed one night in August and emailed both hosts Curtis and Jim willing to see what that night would cost. Well still waiting..... no response other than a shameless request to vote for them in the best of category. I have always been a proponent of the property on this and other boards but now not so much. Thats a NO vote from me, I'll have to give a nod to Derik on that account. Thanks Curtis -I have booked that one night at the Linq for a minimal charge. Maybe someday we will reconcile but for now Plaza our relationship has suffered and we will seek other rooming options when we want downtown accomodations and gambling play.

I don't call, I prefer email. If they can't email they should not share their email address.

You shouldn't have to beg to be treated decently, if he e-mailed 2 of them and got no response(not even a sorry, no comp for you), then the heck with them. By the way, i emailed the el-cortez earlier this year with a similar question and got a reply withing a couple hours, the bottom line is well run places have their shit together.

If you have a valid offer (if you don't have one, I am not sure how you qualify as a loyal player,
even I have offers from Plaza for any future months), why don't you just call to book that night.
It doesn't need to wait for a response from a host.
    just my 2 cents.

Is it possible you received a reply and it went directly to your junk/spam box? They have always replied to me within a week and I have minimal play with them...

I have to agree that if you have an email account they should respond. I've never had any issues with the Plaza and used to go to those Big Game Parties once upon a time as well but I didn't stick with them through all the changes due to loss of my favorite games. I have, however, had similar issues with the Golden Gate and their hosts. You call up your host and get a response that the club info and they are not connected; what? They tell you to call the players club and you leave a message and get zero response back. I believe it has something to do with sharing hosts between the two casinos. It is annoying and one does not wish to reach out to someone who should be reaching out to you for spending money at their casino. On a positive note while I find the D a bit loud to gamble at they have been incredibly responsive whether it be email or message on their facebook site. I was impressed.

My relationship with the Plaza hasn't always been perfect, but every single time I've reached out to Curt here & through e-mail (I always do both to be certain), he has always replied....100% of the time.
I suspect this was an anomaly - not a regular practice.
Give them another chance, via Gary's reaching out here.

I feel compelled to chime in as well. I will also say that my time at the Plaza has not been perfect, but in recent months, I have had many apologies and never have had an issue with getting in touch with someone. Please do check your spam. I can't imagine that, not one, but two hosts did not respond. Makes me think something is awry. I am with the minority that gives too many chances to a hotel and casino, but you have barely given them one chance. Hopefully you can be made to feel better by Gary - if you choose to connect.

After our last stay at the Plaza, last year, we won't go back.

Before arriving, contacted Ashley our casino host, never got a call back, even after leaving 2 messages.

Room safe wouldn't unlock, construction noise at 7:00 a.m.!!! Loud const. noise. And we were on the top floor.

Front desk people rude when we checked in. And we are nice people. I've worked in casino hotels so I know what they have to deal with.

Will stay else where, on our next trip, which will be in Jan. 2019. Thinking about the Golden Gate Suite.

Sorry for your experience. Did you contact Ashley upon arrival, and also make her aware of your concerns prior to check out? I hope the GG meets your expectations.....good luck.

My number 1 complaint. From what I've come to understand that these folks are Union. Not sure what you have experienced with unionized employees, but they are typically VERY difficult to get rid of. Way too many protections, even for terrible ones. Ugh. Most of the really bad ones have been there forever and are totally not likely to quit any time soon.

If you give Plaza another chance and want to avoid the front desk altogether - ask your host to check you in. If you were staying on the top floor (penthouse) then I am 100% sure this is possible. My host does this for me as long as I don't arrive on her day off. Much nicer way to start your stay. Also, if you decide to give them another chance: If while on property and your host isn't as responsive as you would like - just go into the hosts' office. They have always jumped to meet my needs when I've gone in while my regular host was off.

Sorry you had such a poor experience. Maybe Ashley had an emergency or some other issue occurred?

We've stayed at the Plaza probably five times. Inconsistencies and long wait times at the front desk are the biggest issue we've had. There have been glitches with room keys and room maintenance, but we've experienced those sorts of things at many other properties as well.

Face it, it's not the Four Seasons. I think they do pretty well with what they've got and for what they charge. And is there any other property that actively participates in this board, not just promoting their place, but soliciting input?

The casino industry is a major one that’s behind the technology curve.
They want to LOOK like they’re “with it”, but in reality, 90% of casino employees barely know how to work email.

So damn true. The Plaza hosts that post on this board are awesome. They could write a book on outstanding customer engagement/service. Our first Vegas stay, on our way to San Francisco/transfer, was at the Plaza, and since that stay we've stayed downtown at the MSS three times, and the Golden Nugget three times. Over the last 15 year we've stayed on the strip. I think our December trip will include a stay at the Plaza, as well as the Mirage. A toast  to the Plaza hosts....you guys are a credit to the Plaza.

I have thoroughly discussed this in other threads and don't have the time or inclination to rehash it. They are rude. It has been posted about in numerous threads on numerous Vegas sites and Yelp, Google Reviews, etc. It is the same few employees over and over again. Hopefully you have had or will have a better welcome than a great many of us.
