Can't say for sure that happened to NFC, but I believe it happens a lot. I once went to a hooker convention at a Brazilian steakhouse and everyone there raved about the caipirinha. Best ever, and such like that. I thought the drink was just OK and people were overplaying the fun to be had at a hooker convention at a Brazilian steakhouse. It was interesting, but the similar dinner at Andiamo's was sublimely weird.

Reminds me of a time many years ago playing Blackjack with an ex-boyfriend at the old Boardwalk....the Boardwalk is key. He kept ordering grey goose. I said I was skeptical he was getting grey goose.....oh he was sure he was blah blah blah. Finally a new cocktail waitress came on, he ordered grey goose and she told him they only serve Smirnoff. Gee I laughed!

It's probably one of the ones that the last number blinks on and off, and the photo was taken during the "off". I have no idea, really. Just a theory.

Hooker convention? Was it Brazilian hookers?

Convention might be overstating it. It was more like a dinner party, this particular time.

Just Americans, with maybe the odd Canadian thrown in.

I don’t have the patience for poker, but I do play a lot of video poker. When’s your next Vegas trip?

Get WinPoker for your smartphone. It’s an amazing trainer, where it tells you what your errors on each paytable are, and you can keep track of your performance (including coin-in) on each session. It’s a paid app at about $13 or so, but worth every penny IMO.

Since you are staying at The D and then on the strip, I would recommend learning Jacks or Better. The Jacks or Better strategy can also be used on Bonus Poker.

At The D, the upstairs bar (Vue Bar) has full pay Bonus Poker with a progressive on quad 5-Kings plus the Royal Flush. Plus the bar service is pretty solid up there.

If you haven’t already, check out the sticky Tringlomane started a while ago about the VP Primer for best bartop video poker on the strip. I think you’ll find Bonus Poker is often the playable paytable for quarter VP at the bar on the strip.

In terms of learning the game, I recommend downloading the WinPoker app onto your phone. It costs maybe $10, and it has coaching so it can correct your errors. You might also want to consider reading up on the Jacks or Better basic strategy on the Wizard of Odds website.

    Good luck and have fun!

Winpoker is terrific. Worth the money. You can input any specific paytable if it isn't already loaded so you can learn the best plays for the poor paytables on the strip.

It's also a great way to test how fast your phone is. Back when I bought it for my iPhone 3G, it took several minutes to analyze a new paytable. iPhone 7 takes 5 seconds.

Thanks for the report. It's been more than a year since I've been to Las Vegas and the DTs are really bad. It's giving me a bit of a hit.

just an aside, the Mexican coke bottled, the restaurant next to my business sells it. We are on Long Island in NY and its available at a store for retail restaurants- Restaurant Depot. I am sure you can find it in your home town also.
