    I’be never used Uber.

    Are you supposed to tip?

    How reliable are airport pickups?

Where do you meet them at LAS?

Yea, Breeze has a Vegas trip??
Never used them myself but the pickup area is in the parking structure across from luggage pickup. Not cab and shuttle area.

I pretty much use Lyft, which is basically the same thing. No cash changes hands, it's all done through the app. Once your ride is over, you'll get a text or email asking you to rate your driver, and it also gives you an opportunity to add a tip to the fare.

I've never taken them from LAS, but I believe there is a designated "ride share" area where you meet your Uber/Lyft.

The app also shows you a picture of the driver and car that's coming to pick you up.

Uber from the airport was about 16 bucks for us last time. We were getting passed by just about everyone on the road. That may have been why it was 16 instead of 14 or so. After we requested an uber our ride showed up within about 10 minutes or so. If I remember correctly you would go to the info booth and hang a right turn and then up to the second floor. But you probably should ask someone at the info booth for directions.

Tipping is all done through the app. Once you request your ride (through the app) it will tell you where to go. Vegas has REALLY accepted the ride sharing movement and there are designated rideshare pickup locations at nearly all hotels. It is very easy!

I always tip cash, 3-5 bucks, unless it's a really crappy driver which happened one time.

As reliable as your phone. I don't get good service at the pickup area, my wife's phone works great there.

From the baggage claim area find baggage carousels 7 and 9, take the escalator up one level, do a u-turn and walk to the parking garage. You will pass over the cab line. Once you get to the parking garage go up one level (steps or elevator). You can't miss it.

What is funny, is that the entire point of the UBER and Lyft was to remove the cash exchange portion of the transaction...

After switching to Lyft a couple of years back I don't think I could ever talk the wife into taking a cab again. I also tip $5 cash to the driver directly. The signage at the airport to the pickup area is pretty good.

What is it that makes ride share so much better than cabs? Reading the threads here I haven’t seen the appeal except for maybe longer rides or ease of arranging one from locations where cabs can’t easily be found. It seems like with ride-share I have to bring up the app, schlep over to the pickup area (which is unfairly away from the cab area), and then find my specific ride. With a cab I just walk out front grab one on demand. I honestly want to know what the draw is.

Usually about half the cost of a cab.

That would be a good reason but I got the impression airport to south strip hotels was in the $12-$15 range which is what cab fare was last I remember.

I often tip with cash, as the company I'm now consulting through has some funky rules on travel/tip reimbursement, so it's easier for me to use the app and my credit card and just tip with cash.

Breeze... if you're comfortable with your cell phone and apps, give it a shot... it really is easy to do. Once you load the app on your phone, follow the set-up information to enter your credit card. Once you're all set up, when you want a ride just hit the button. There's lots of YouTube videos to guide you through it all as well... GOOD LUCK!!!

One other advantage I find is the ride share drivers make sure the A/C is on and the vehicle is nice and cool for the ride.

Your average cabbie never has the A/C on and when asked to do so, will only barely put the fan on level 1 speed.
