Tough morning this morning. We hit the ground running yesterday. We originally booked Joe Rogan at mirage a couple weeks back. Started having second thoughts so just put them back on stubhub to sell. Figured if they didn’t sell we’d go. It was a bit confusing but they indeed sold and that was the only win for me last night +$100!

Should just book 4 nts from the get go.
Planned 3 night long ago. Since have day off extended to Friday too. Back and forth about stay downtown for first night or splurge extra nt at Bellagio. Decided not having to move was the way to go. Bummed booked strip view. Didn’t realize it was a separate tower but whatever.

Check in gold! Thanks hyatt! Somehow we have gold mlife due to some glitch I think. I think we should have been pearl but we’ll take it. No line in the gold line!

Asked for fountain. She say spa better since it’s 24th floor. But we were fixated on fountain. Got 11th floor. Not sure if we better off or not but we committed. Nice enough room but nothing overly special.

Off to downtown. Took a long time via uber. Lots of traffic. Straight to pizza rock. Happy hour. Meatball good zucchini good italia pizza good beers good. Perfect start

Walk through grand just to see. I’ve read the casino is dead but seemed Not dead.

Downtown cocktail room. Have place to self. Wierd for a while. But very tasty cocktails. Especially for half price. Watermelon and something else. Finally as we leave people trickle in

Next to d. Play craps for a while. 1st hundred go instant. Second goes for some time but then dip into reserves

2 or 3 times with $0 in rack. Got up and back down but played a while.

Started towards golden gate but stopped and watched pretty fun 80s band for a while.

Golden gate hundy same thing but happy to play. Actually got payed with greens after pressing odds a couple times. One lady kept hitting 9! Broke even in the end.

Off to Lapperts as is tradition and then Main Street 777 for more beer we didn’t need!

Lost more money on craps and actually got the wife to play which was a win itself. Although she threw dice off the table and we all lost.

Ubered back to hotel and things a bit fuzzy. Lago, roulette, my vegas free play. Lago was good but expensive for dry cheese. I’m sure it was a delicacy but needed to wash it down with some liquid.

Good first day but we are very glad we are not switching hotels mid trip. Recovery day today!

As a side note I noticed a lot more superstitions coming true this trip. Chips get hit -7. Dice off - 7. Someone buy in during roll - 7!

Thanks! I’m sure it was! I couldn’t tell you first hand. About all I remember is the dry cheese.

Yesterday was a very slow going day. Made it off to Henry for breakfast. Not overly impressed. Food was good but service was a bit less. We had normal eggs benny and short rib eggs benny. Short ribs was very very rich. Between that and recovery it through me off for a while.

Walked around for a bit played a couple slots with no luck. Then after getting lost in Bellagio while looking for shops (we actually made a full circle and ended up back at registration) we actually made back upstairs for a nap which is something we usually never do. It was very necessary.

We were going to go to China Poblano for dinner but after reading some negative recent reviews we ended up at jaleo. It was all very good. I had a way overpriced gin and tonic. It was good and interesting. Food was good. Toasted bread, fried eggplant, Goat cheese peppers , shrimp and chicken.

Then off to Gwen Stefani. It was a very good show. Very energetic and entertaining. Recommended.

It was now late by our standards and played just a 20 or so on way back to room.

Not sure about today. We plan on wandering. The fountain motorcycle jump is today so maybe check it out.

Pretty active day compared to yesterday. Started off with bouchon breakfast. Was a bit worried about being able to get in but we got a nice table with no wait. Excellent.

We had plans of a strip crawl from Wynn to nyny. Although we definitely cheated. We walked to Caesars and checked out the jump area. Also we played he horses for some time. Only hit 2. We triple our $10 bet on the winner and also hit a smaller $6 win. All in all probably about an hour or more of entertainment for $100. Funny thing also there were a handful of 20 somethings that were just crashed out! They got woken up and warned a couple times. But they apparently just couldn’t stay awake so they left.

Stopped back at Bellagio and went to Hyde for drink. Yummy drinks nice fountain view but a bit different than expected. Felt a bit out of place (old fuddy duddies) but didn’t care too much. We enjoyed our 2 for 1 via my vegas.

Cheated and took tram down and went to nyny. We both had myVEGAS rewards which netted us 42$. At nine fine Irishmen. It’s been a bit of tradition to grab a few Guinness and the beer and cheese dip. This time we also splurged with the Irish nachos. Yummy.

Headed over to Excalibur and played for some time. Craps was fun although nothing spectacular. Wife won some money on slots. For whatever reason we went back to nyny and I proceeded to lose and lose. First craps. What 11 no pay on come out?? Damn I’m on a crapless craps table. Shit. Anyways it was interesting. Lost on roulette then also lost on let it ride. $200 not one winner hand.

Back to B via uber. Ended up playing fortune cup a bit. Pretty fun but no big wins. Good night.

    Table bread? At bouchon.

Man, I must give credit to all those who manage to do live trip reports. First time I have actually tried and obviously I fizzled out! It is hard to keep up.

I have a handful of more pictures and some summary thoughts about this trip.

Here's the view from our 11th floor fountain view room at Bellagio.

Night time view. I realized the fountain view is nice and all, but the view is pretty narrow (at least down on the 11th floor). The tower sure looks nice lit up at night though.

Bouchon Breakfast. Finally made it here. It was excellent.

Although we missed the jump itself we were able to view stuff beforehand. Pretty cool.

Gordon Ramsey pub. Pretzels, nachos, and a big ol beer. We were there for happy hour and it definitely hit the spot 2018-07-09 15.27.27 - Copy.jpg
Toms Urban. My notes had happy hour from 3-7, but that was out of date information. It was 3-6. We still got happy hour food (sliders - yum) and hummus (meh). Nice place to sit outside and watch the strip.

Always a good time at Brad Garrett's. Although each time we go we are always rushing through the damn mgm trying to find the place.
