Just checked out of Planet Hollywood. The front desk is saying that the housekeeping opt out is now only a $10 credit per stay and not per day. I went to the buffet to use the credit with July 4th holiday pricing because they don’t give you many options to choose from at PH, still showed up on my bill. Would never have eaten there if they had told me the policy changed. They ended up taking $10 off a charge from the pool which was never listed on their list of participating bars and restaurants. Is this the new standard at every Caesars hotel? Anyone have a link to somewhere on their website where it still says per day so I can fight the charge? Lol I wouldn’t have opted out for 5 nights if I had been told I was only getting $10 total. Such a bait and switch.

Yep. Checked into Harrahs on Saturday and the gal asked about declining housekeeping to receive a $10 credit. I specifically asked if it was $10 per day or $10 total and she said total for the stay. Needless to say I elected to have my room serviced each day. I used the 7 stars checkin and she wasn't perfectly clear....so I asked. CET is famous for downgrading stuff like this. As far as disputing it, I suspect that will be a long frustrating fight... your decision is it's worth it for $30.

not to hijack the thread, was the buffet any better, its been really bad last reports. good luck with the $10 credit, wonder why they making it per stay, doesn't seem right. staying one day gives same credit as a 4 day stay, cray

How long was your trip? They don’t give you $10 for the last night of the stay. So if you say 2 nights, you get $10. 3 nights gets you $20, etc.

I was just in Vegas 2 weeks ago and I received $10 per night for opting out of housekeeping. This was at Caesars though.

That stinks. And kind of sneaky of them if they are not clear about the credit being per trip or per day. I recall checking in a couple times at CP in the past year and they always clearly stated the credit was per day

I was there for 5 nights so I told the lady at the front desk it should be a $40 credit and she said no it’s only $10 per stay and that took effect 3 weeks ago. My biggest gripe is that the pool wasn’t on their list of participating restaurants. If I knew that I had no credit left when I was going to the buffet, I definitely wouldn’t have went there. But since they used it at the pool without letting me know that it was an option, I assumed I had a credit to use at the buffet, even if not the full $40.

I used this when I stayed at PH for NYE, but never took advantage of the credit. Do I still have the credit or is it long gone?

Yup, it started at the end of May during my Vegas trip. I might've posted about it here. Long story short, I showed them screen shots of my email and confirmation page, and told them the clerk at checkin re-enrolled me and stated I'd get $30 and how it worked. The lady at checkout was..not nice about it. A phone call later they credited my account with $22 in RCs, minus the $8 I went over and returned the $8 I paid out of pocket (had about $160 in RCs). All wanted.

Wow, CET really does not want customers to choose their casinos anymore. They've been doing everything they can to chase people away so they will do business with their competitors instead.

CET still losing money or are they returning to profits? I think it'll get better once they are rolling in the dough....... like the old days, right?

Just stayed at Ballys last week and it was $10 per stay as well. I'm guessing this might have been part of the union negotiations so I wasn't too upset about it. Housekeeping needs jobs too.

One of the concerns for the food and beverage union was automation and "robot" service with MGM. Maybe this is a way to keep housekeeping happy at CET. Cutting back on the amount of $$ in comps people get keeps a staff larger. I know one of the reasons that Caesars Windsor stayed on strike was job security. Cutting back on the amount of room attendant comps and the panic button might be employee related. Just speculating, no facts.

I never had a problem with no credit..
I liked the $10/nt (especially as we stay 7-9 nights twice a year)
But $10/stay? Um, SO not worth it...

Do you really think people chose a hotel based on a credit that most people don't even know about and fewer people use? Look, you may be right and there are plenty of reasons to hate CET, but this? Really? Also, as someone else pointed out this could have been part of the union negotiations to help preserve union jobs.

What nonsense. CET is trying to save money and they need to make this seamless.

If people want to opt out, that’s fine—-but I love housekeeping. One of my favorite enjoyments of a hotel stay is 2 housekeeping services per day. I would not trade it for a few $ credit which may not ever appear.
