Had in n out for dinner. We were talking about seeing an off strip casino for the heck of it. We stayed up until almost 5am last night so we’re both tired. My wife rarely drinks but she agreed to let loose one night of the trip with me and last night was it. She was feeling it this morning.

Texas Station got the nod, so we we’re on our way there.

Hope to have a good Pai Gow report later!

$30 up on $5 Pai Gow at Texas station. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.

Last full day. Not sure what we have planned but we’re both saying we don’t want to be up until 5am the night before our slight. Out flight isn’t until around 2pm but that comes quickly when you’re up that late!

My hopes to play 3-4 tournaments won’t happen but I’m thinking about playing one today. Maybe the golden nugget 1pm tournament will get the nod today. It’s hard to commit to play them. I hate feeling like I’m ditching the wife while I play even though I know she’ll be fine hopping around playing slots, relaxing, or doing whatever. The purpose of this vacation was to hang out with her while the kids stayed behind.

Casino hopping and playing Pai Gow and BJ along the way is the most likely scenario for today and tonight. We talked about going to Hash House for breakfast one morning, so we may cross that off the list as well.

More to come later on our last full day! Once we get back or when I’m on my laptop, I’ll do a mini-report with my thoughts on the North Rim and Death Valley for anyone interested in those.

Is going to bed at 6am going to bed late at night, or early in the morning? Either way, we were up until 6am last night. We are packed and I have showered. The wife is showering now and then we’ll head to the airport to fly home. I’m not too bad off, but still buzzed. Hopefully I don’t get a raging hangover later! We had a good trip. Not sure on the total tally on food, souvenir, and gambling expenses but we will figure that out later. We were definitely down on gambling. We had some great meals and bought a few cool things to take home. Whatever the final tally is, it will be worth it. 8 nights of kid free time with the wife is priceless. We enjoyed ourselves. We checked in with the kids via phone and FaceTime a few times during our 8 nights away. Having a 6 and 7 year old, alone time doesn’t really exist in our house until after they are in bed each night. Having 8 days and nights with just the wife has been wonderful. I do miss the kids, but grandma and grandpa took good care of them I’m sure!
