    My Trip Report

    upload_2018-6-28_8-4-39.gif upload_2018-6-28_8-4-39.gif upload_2018-6-28_8-4-39.gif WC 2018 R16 and QF –Sands Fan Clan in Vegas 6/29-7/8

The Sands Fan clan will make its traditional trek to watch World Cup soccer in Vegas. This trip will be our second in a row to watch R16 and QFs, fourth in a row to watch some of the matches in Vegas and my sixth over the last 30 years to be in Vegas for some of the cup. While past trips have been playing VP at bars watching matches and hoping our bets come in, this trip will be entirely different.

In addition to myself and Mrs SF, there will be Son of SF and his wife and my other Son of SF along with two new additions. This will be our two y.o. twins first World Cup and while they won’t remember much of the trip, we are planning a full itinerary around their schedules.

Note to self - Need to work on twins VMB names

Where – Bally’s 9 days in a Resort Premium Suite so lot of room for them to run around with a trip to the D one night

Watch – Matches are at 7am and 11am so plan is to make bets the night before and watch from the room until twins are dress, fed and bored.

Breakfast - in the rooms except non match day trips to Peppermill and Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant based on TRs from you good people

Lunch – during walkabouts with twins after or during second match depending on them.

Dinner – Battistas, Casa di Amore, BLT, Andiamos, Lotus of Siam, Gangnam Asian BBQ

Twin Time – The Wild life Habitat at Flamingo, Bellagio Conservatory and crepes, Aquarium at Silverton, Shark Reef, drive through Red Rock Canyon, Caesars forum shops (large central fish tank, Fall of Atlantis show) and of course naps

Fireworks – 6/30 Caesars show at 9:15 if twins can see from the room

HL Slot pulls – 6/30 at Cosmo, 7/5 at Venetian

    Gambling - ? – somewhere in there.

Looking over the detailed itinerary I realize there is little time to keep this TR live but I will do my best. Since this will be a family trip with SF getting limited gambling time, I hope you still find it interesting enough to follow along.

    And the Logistics -
Limo - to and from airport, to and from the D
Car seats rentals - deliver to and pick up from airport
Toys & trykes rentals - deliver to and pick up from Bally's
Essentials - delivery to hotel once we arrive
Transport - minivan - three day rental between matches
Walkabouts - narrow double umbrella stroller for maneuvering amongst the crowds without being too much of a pain

Hope the SF family has a fun World Cup trip!!! I was there in 2014 when Germany won it and I had a helluva fun time. Vegas+WC=Goooooooal!!! I’ll be out there for the semi-finals and finals so I’ll definitely be following your TR to get the pulse of things out there. Have a great trip!!!

Yes, in all the trips to Vegas, I have never been so thought I would cross it off the bucket list this time

Six hours to wheels up and everyone here are sleeping away. As is always the case, night before vegas is a fitful sleep for me, not because of excitement but what did I forget at home or work. One of those is a stop at the bank for a little extra cash, just to be safe.

Time for SF to start the day, lots of coffee, load the van and start rousing all from their pre-flight slumber.

    Great day to all

    Itinerary for today is
    • Arrive about 2PM, limo and car seat delivery meet at baggage claim
    • Bally check in, get settled and pick up other deliveries
    • Dinner at Battistas with SofSF and his wife (our 1st time)
    • Settle in Mrs SF and Twins. (Still need a VMB name, maybe Yin and Yang?)
    • Down to get TCs for the day and bet Saturday matches

    Any suggestions on:
France vs Argentina (Probably France but I'll be wearing my Argentina jersey
    Uruguay / Portugal

I hope the entire process goes really smoothly for you guys, I no it's not easy logistically with Double Trouble (DT).

We are going to Lyft to Marta and take that to the airport, save a few bucks on parking. We've got a few hours to kill so just enough time to make sure everything is in order. Like you I never sleep well before a Vegas trip, also cuz I'm thinking about all the things that I might have forgotten to do.

Can't wait to be under way, looking forward to Batista's. I just hope that our flights aren't delayed and that you guys aren't waiting for us to be seated.

This sounds amazing - it didn't occur to me to schedule a Vegas trip around the WC, but it should have! Sporting events are always the best when watched from Vegas or a cruise.
