My wife and I will be in Vegas early July and I am looking to play a round of golf. Wife doesn't play and would just be riding.

We currently have a tee time with Rio Secco, but I am not seeing very many recent reviews. Has anyone had any recent experiences here?

Any other suggestions in the 100-150 price range within about 20ish minutes from the strip?

    Thanks for the help!

Go to Golf Now and put in date you desire. You will be well under the $100. I pay 20-$30 for 18 with cart. Since you are on the strip I would recommend either the del web courses in Summerlin. Take UBER there. You will see many reviews on Golf now for many choices. What is your handicap? I get to Vegas tomorrow and if you message me with some choices I will give you my thoughts. I have golfed around 12 courses there now. Personally I golf Los Prados often. But it is a short course. You may also ask this question on the Living In Vegas forum here as we talk golf often there. Ken2V is a golf expert. Good luck and like I said feel free to message me with any ?'s. Club rental tends to get higher closer to strip.

If you can get on Spanish Trail, it's worth it. Often found on GolfNow. About 3 miles west of Orleans on Tropicana, so close. 27 holes.

I played Secco in February. I like what they did with some of the tweaks. TPC Las Vegas is no farther removed than Secco, so consider that. But it really comes down to whether you want something run-of-the-mill or something with more visceral thrills. It's your marriage, but she will probably have a lot more fun staying at the casino or, better yet, going to the spa.

I played mid-day in Scottsdale today. Hades hot. So nice to be home now on the coast!!

We are recreational players at best and fancy playing on our trip in July. Rather then hitting a course what are people’s experiences/thoughts on going to TopGolf @ MGM?

I'm use to playing in Austin. I remember playing playing Legacy when it was 108. It's strange to say it, but the dry heat is sort of refreshing when compared to our humid heat. I had to force myself to remember to drink plenty of water because I just didn't get that beat down thirsty feeling like we do when totally soaked from sweating here.

What is Rio Secco charging you? Summer golf in Las Vegas is such a bargain. It's easy to get rounds at 25% of the cost of peak season rates. We paid $225 once to play Rio Secco. We still talk about how it was not worth it.

I enjoy TopGolf. It's not golf, per se, but it's a lot of fun.

I was told by a bartender once (who didn't play golf) to take a couple of hand towels from the room, fill a small ice chest with hotel ice and place the towels in the cooler about half way through with the ends sticking out the top of the filled chest. Most courses don't care as they forbid drinks on the course from outside but explaining it as a survival tactic you get by most times. Use the towels as a coolant. Wipe your face prior to leaving the green side area and moving to the next tee. Wear it like a scarf when driving to the next shot. Alternate as the towel warms up. It should last about 2.5-3 hours depending on the quality of the insulation. Yeah it's hot but as big tip said, it is somewhat refreshing to be void of humidity IF you keep hydrated. The problem is generally the lack of shade. If we didn't have trees on our course most would be bowling instead!! Good luck.
