Tuna casserole. I don't know why it bothers me since I've never actually tasted it but just the thought of it gives me the willies.

 

HA! I LOVE Tuna casserole! No one else in my family will even taste it, hell they wont even look at it.

How much of what we consider "popular" stems from how we were raised.
Let's take Aunt Fanny and Aunt Ethel .... considerable hankerin' for possum.
Not me. But what about squirrel or rabbit...doin' the backstroke in brown gravy?
Had it growin' up, but not since some time in the early seventies. Never had
pizza until I was around twelve or so.

Only one here at the ranch who eats sushi. As for things Asian, just before we
left Korea, J.B.'s girlfriend fixed us some Kagogi. Once and only once. Had
horse meat in Morocco. But I don't think those are what we (you know...we)
would call popular here in the land of the free.

I can't really come up with something popular that I haven't at least tried. I really
love most things southern, but they no longer love me. And I have sufficient
prescriptions to prove it.

 

That's one thing I don't think I've ever had, and I would probably try it on the right occasion.

Of course I ate at Wetson's as a kid, so I may have already had it!

For me, the two “popular” foods I’ve steered clear of are foie gras and veal. I know I’m a complete hypocrite as I eat plenty of animals that are probably treated just as cruelly. But for whatever reason, those two are a bridge too far for me. (Someone please tell me I’m not missing anything...c’mon, just humor me)

I like spam even though I haven't had it for years .. I use to make it for my kids and they liked it... our local grocery store sells it and there are many types now... my husband has never tried it and plans to never try it.. haha

 

when i was about 18 i tried a raw cherrystone clam... got about to my tonsils and
was projectiled out!... i will eat fried clams or a stuffie, but have never tried and oyster as they look like one big snot/lunger... i would gag instantly

 

lol..the three stooges episode with Moe saying he loves nothing better than bologna and whipped cream is bologna and ketchup... and now i have the monty python spam gig as an earworm..

when i was in catholic parochial elementary prison we would have fried bologna with buttered noodles every thursday, which is actually not bad... i make it once in a while and the wife cringes

He obviously doesn't play golf in the islands. Even the high-brow joints have 'em on the counter. They just charge more!

 

I've never tried Rocky Mountain Oysters or sweetbreads.

Have eaten just about everything else mentioned. I didn't like raw oysters one bit, but could cope with the fried ones.
