Being at Harrah’s and seeing the place pick up on a Saturday night, I knew this is where I wanted to spend the bulk of my evening. So I decided to do the $100 bounty tournament, the same one that I co-won in February, my only time making money in casino poker. I couldn’t register right away so I went back to the room to pick up cash and weed.

I had a bit of a problem for dinner. I needed something fast to be able to come back and register but I didn’t want my final dinner of the trip to be at a food court. I came down from my room and went to the bar at Center Cut where I played DDBP and BJ while I waited for my delicious medium well 10 oz filet.

Now I’m back at Harrah’s playing slots about to walk over to the poker room. As a special treat for the last night I had previously saved 2 extra gummies I didn’t use, so I just did 12 which is about 134 mg of THC, a new record. I took it just now so it comes on gradually throughout the tournament and then I can keep it going with the vape pen afterwards.

It’s not every day I’m in Vegas during the World Series of Poker. Time for one more chance to compete in this great environment!

Great TR @ NPLV, one of the better TRs as of late.

This sentence might be my favorite in all the TRs I've read. It reminded me of this classic scene from the Godfather.

Looks like you're having a great time, hope your last night does not disappoint.

Alright about to head back in after break, it has been an up and down affair. Hotter start than any tournament I’ve played in, then bled slowly back to where I started (15K) then back up to 20K or so. Then two guys went all in and I had AK so I joined them since it’s a bounty tournament. I lose but I could cover thankfully. I got whittled down then eventually went all in on A8 which if I’m not mistaken is the Dead Mans Hand aka the hand Wild Bill Hickok had when he was shot in the head. I won on two fronts, the all in and I kept my brains intact. However I’m down to about 5K barely and easily the lowest at the table if not the tournament. I’ve been waiting for the first reasonable opportunity to go all in and I will cease it. As my chips dwindle the threshold for that will get lower. Here we go!

Wow what a ride! From 7K in chips after the break to profiting $325. Every all-in went my way en route to a chopped win. I have now won money in two poker tournaments, both of them Harrah’s bounty tournaments. I think it has firmed itself up as a trip staple.

The first all in took me from 7 to 14 or so. Then I lost some and then got up to 25. People kept getting knocked out. Another all in now 50K. Now it’s only 10 people left so I’ve made my first final table of the trip. Then first hand of final table I call another guys all in and go up above 100K! Then more people keep getting knocked out. Before I know it I am one of 3 and basically tied for 2nd a small bit behind the chip leader. He proposes a chop and I’m all for it.

Even when I was on the verge of being knocked out, this was a fun tournament. Great cast of characters. Great dealers. Perfect environment right in the happening casino.

Now, I have the whole night ahead of me. At a certain point soon I am going to head to Flamingo just to pack up a bit so I don’t have to worry about it later in the night. But dirt now I have a $57 voucher to get my started at Harrah’s and I’m hitting the slots!

Had some Bally’s chips to use so made my way over there. Bought into a $10 UTH table. Was the only one there. Turned a little over $100 into $250. I have NEVER had a run like this! Let’s keep it going!

Excellent report, really enjoying it... congrats on the tourney win. As a 'special occasions only' smoker, the thought of that much THC boggles my mind!

Good morning everyone. I bring you this update from McCarran Airport. It was a long night and I am very tired but couldn’t be happier with this trip.

After Bally’s, I made my way over to Cosmo to meet up with my friend from the day before. This was at about 1. Once again enjoyed the awesome views from the balcony and this time remembered to take some pictures.

After a while we went downstairs to gamble a bit. At around 2 I left to make my way back up north. I walked thru PH, Paris and Bally’s and they were absolutely packed. I get to Cromwell and the casino looks packed, but it’s really mostly just a huge line for Drais. Line was still there when I left at 3:45 or so.

At Cromwell I tried my hand at some more UTH with no luck, gave back $290. Then tried some more slots and no major luck so cashed out and walked next door to Flamingo to wrap up my gaming for the trip. I played only slots, and had no luck...except for Old Reliable:

The final Quick Hits machine I played I said to myself that l if I get significantly above my buy in that would be my last slot. Sure enough $75 almost right away, and another bonus soon after. I blew through some of it chasing the bigger prizes but still ended up ahead which negated Cromwell losses. Overall, up a few hundred at least on the last day. Couldn’t have scripted it any better!

At about 4:30 it was time to go upstairs for a couple hours sleep. This morning I intended to hit the buffet but it had a mimosa brunch going on that wasn’t for me so I just went over to McDonald’s again. Quick and delicious, then hopped back over to Flamingo and over to the airport.

Every trip I have taken to Vegas has been my best one yet, but this one feels as though it’s a step above the rest. I have never gambled as much as I did this trip. I hadn’t for years covered the ground I did. Competed at a high level in poker. And yet between all that, I found time for more food and more rest. It was the best of all worlds.

I may have some things I forgot to share but barring that, this concludes the report for my 10th Vegas trip. Thank you all for your well wishes throughout - it was a true pleasure reporting as always. It will be great to look back on this trip as it happened for years to come.

    Until next time,
    NPLV

Great TR! I've grown to love The Cromwell as it's so small but so damn nice plus the sportsbook is just the right size and they hand out drink tickets generously. Good job with the bounty tournament we were all cheering for you. Til next time...

If every trip report was this good, I’d probably go on twice as many Vegas trips because I wouldn’t be able to contain my excitement. Great job and glad you had a blast!
