    My Trip Report

    F2948E9A-9E5E-4A1D-83F5-EE65A45287DF.jpeg

I’ve never done this before so if I screw it up, get drunk and forget it, or what have take it easy on me.

Departing GSO-CLT- LAS for a week in Mecca. Zero plans outside of obscene hours playing limit poker and beer. An old college roomie is joining in mid trip. Shenanigans may or may not happen at that point....

They still run limit games? 6-12?

Flamingo pretty much always has a 2/4 limit game going. I actually plan on playing a little 2/4 limit at Flamingo and Golden Nugget on my upcoming trip. I have played about 30 minute of limit poker live, so I’m very curious as to how often there are preflop raises or multiple bets preflop/each street.

Sounds like fun. I'm just about a week away from my next trip. All these great live reports are getting me even more psyched. Good luck!

Good luck! I love GSO. No lines, easy in, easy out, quiet, and plenty of places to sit.

Haha, no way that could run at the Flaming-Ho.

Look forward to reading about some "no-foldem holdem" @PackerBacker! If you can remember the hands that is! Lol

At 2/4 limit? Average 6 callers to every flop. 5 to every turn. When you raise, people will openly call you out on "your aces." And several will be confused when you don't have them.

For what it's worth, 2/4 limit is probably the cheapest place in a casino to get blitzed drunk, if you tip the waitress with any consistency. The flamingo poker room has a dedicated waitress and service bar. The drinks should come plenty fast. $3 in blinds every 9-10 hands and even if you do see a few flops, it's $2 a piece.

American Airlines had a free upgrade promo sent to me 48hrs before the flight so the 20 some minute GSO to CLT flight was now first class. 2 free Heinekens and free bags. Woo!

Connected in CLT, 5hr flight to Vegas and checking in at midnight. Upgraded (?) to a new Flamingo room. Meh. Think i prefer the Go rooms

Having been working and traveling for 20hrs I do the sane thing and go to the poker room. 9 tables running at 1230 am. Donk around at 2/4 for 5hrs before blearily grabbing a slice of pizza and passing out

Flamingo is the only strip room Consistently spreading 2/4. This time of year 2/4L, 1/2 NL and they had 1/1 PLO

3hrs later I’m wide ass awake and about to go abuse my liver for about 14 hours

I played the 1/1 PLO game last July just for kicks. It was a $2 button straddle most hands. Played about as soft as you’d expect. No big pots (most I saw was maybe $150 or $200) and not many 3bets pre. I cashed out up about $85 in 2 hours or so. Was a relaxing game with drinks and chatter.

It probably gives about 1/4 of the action, at best, of a 1/2 PLO at Aria.

With that said, my sample size is admittedly small so maybe it does get crazy sometimes?

Blah blah- look for the guy with nc state hat with a lot of beer at the 2/4 table and you will have found me.

So 4hrs in this morning finds me with a flipped straight flush for $200 and a pot with action. Breakfast beers without actually eating breakfast provides a pleasant buzz.

Love the flamingo room- always a hug, handshake, or congenial insult from the dealers. As one of my favorites said after seeing me this morning: “Welcome home.”

Meandered to Margaritaville for lunch yesterday. Chill vibe eating at the bar with a couple of Landsharks and friendly bartenders.

Stumbled back to the Flamingo poker room and played for about 8hrs until 1am. No hands of note but more Coronas than I can count. Giant pizza slice from the CafeToGo place made for an early evening

Back at the tables this morning pondering if I should go to the Park for the hockey game or simply abuse my wallet and liver here in the poker room...
