I read a couple posts that the Park MGM sportsbook bar does not comp drinks when playing VP.

According to the property map from their website, there is only 1 other bar in the entire casino.

    https://www.parkmgm.com/content/dam/MGM/park-mgm/property-map/park-mgm-property-map.pdf

Can anyone confirm that Park MGM does only have that 1 bar? And whether it has VP with comped drinks? My buddy likes to play VP at the bar and drink Bud Light Lime.

Do they plan to add more VP bars?

Yes, there are currently only two bars. The "center bar" and the sports book. Not sure if they plan to make a third with a revamp of the ignite lounge area.

The center bar will comp bud light lime, if they have it...

The sports book might as well, as that's just a domestic bottle. I didn't ask him about the full policy ( unfortunately it was 12:30p and wasn't really looking to drink that early). He was telling some other couple nearby he could comp their generic mixed drinks if they bet a $1 a round (of course always bet 5 quarters on VP instead of $1!). But since I couldn't try a new craft beer there for "free", I personally dropped the comped drink discussion with him and just had some water.

Long story short, your buddy might be able to play at the sportsbook and get a bud light lime. If so, that's where I would suggest playing. It's much nicer!

Thanks for the info! At least it sounds like they comp some drinks. I thought the post said that the sportsbook bar was not comping any drinks. And that would be a deal breaker! Maybe after everything is said and done, it turns into something like the TAG bar. I know hopeful thinking.

I know paytables are going to be horrible. But do you know what they were for job or bonus?

    Thanks!

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clear at first. They would be dumb not to comp domestic bottles when they comp mixed drinks. But we are talking about MGM though...lol

6/5 Bonus was the best choice at quarters. At both bars. That was available with STP as well on multi game units.

DDB players should also pick STP too and play only one line (betting 5 or 6). DDB was 8/5 on STP for quarters, but it was 7/5 on the single line games, so might as well play the 8/5 DDB on STP game.

Just got back from three nights at Park MGM. New policy is NO comped drinks at the sports bar, doesn't matter if you are playing. Bartender said it was just instituted and he was getting abused by customers. Needless to say, the bar was empty. Center bar comped domestic beer for sure.

That's a shame, and they are going to regret that decision I think. "Cheap" drinks at least should be covered at both, imo. Thanks for the update.

Hi, we're the Aria and the Cosmo. We comp at bartops. But Park MGM? NO FREE BUD LIGHT FOR YOU

Their bar top play is going to be nonexistent. Anyone with half a brain will walk out the front door to a neighboring casino

I disagree. I think they will wise up eventually to their customer base. It wouldn't be hard to only serve complimentary drinks to club members which could then be tracked. Guy walks up, inserts his card and orders a drink. Slams it down and walks with minimal play. Bartender hits the button on the back of the machine which then creates a "strike" against the player. Whether one two or three strikes the player on the card has run his course and no free drinks. This is all retained in the players data base that reflects points earned status and all that junk.
I think it would be great if finally bad behavior had consequences for the offender and not just everyone as a result.

Another reason not to go to Park MGM. What a joke.

Why would you go to Park MGM when a much better Sportsbook nearby like Bellagio offers 8/5 DDB w/Progressive RF and comps the good stuff?

Bellagio is nearby? Guess with the tram. I'm lazy. Lol I'd go to Cosmo unless you need a drink faster than every 20 minutes or plan to drink mooch. Bellagio is one of the few strip casinos left that hasn't added a metering system yet at any bar, correct? I haven't checked out Bellagio in quite awhile.

Correct when I was at Bellagio in May. Cosmo is my other go-to Strip VP bar place. Free drink when you start to play and drink tickets print out pretty quickly upon normal pace of VP play. And both of their sportsbook bars are much better than Park MGM.
