    My Trip Report

    Hello fellow VBMs.... its that time again.

    Well it's that time again for my journey to the desert to scratch that itch we all have. This will be my 2nd trip to Vegas this year with my first trip report in Feb. ( https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/harrahs-and-poker-2-9-to-2-12.148643/ ) and my 4th time going to the WSOP. I consider myself a serious recreational player who uses my poker winning to subsides travel and vacations but at no point is my monthly bills reliant on poker as I don't think I would enjoy it near as much if it was a job. I've been running pure this year and up double my profit from 2017 (2018 graph below) I've been focused on PLO this year as I have been bitten by the bug and find holdem to be a little boring after playing 99% no limit holdem cash for the last 14 years. Ive moved from .25c/.50c online 6 max over the years to now my main game is 5/5 PLO. Obviously lots of set backs along the way and lessons learned. Im still getting use to having 2k swings in a day. This time last year I was playing in $300 buy in games.

    Logistics are the same as usual for me I'm flying on credit card miles + $11(Frontier but a free flight is tuff to complain about) Will be staying at Planet Hollywood on a partial comp and no resort fees(diamond) so the total trip should be less then $100 for flight and accommodations which I consider to be the same as free. Im solo this trip so I probably wont even bother with the $20 sandwich as I really don't care to much about the room as I do the location( close to aria, my poker home) This is a "business " trip for profit and a WSOP bracelet. So I left my girl at home, no $200 dinners, no suites at aria, a book bag full of cash and underwear is all I need.

    My goal for 2018 was to play 200 hours of poker( log below), Im well ahead of that pace and running well in my new game up about twice as much as my total profit for 2017, Im hesitant to make any hard plans as vegas tends to consume you. But hoping for 20 hours of PLO cash( Aria, Wynn, Rio), and a deep run in Event #11. If things go bad I can cut my losses with daily tourneys. If things get really bad. Ill sit at the pool and drink till I feel like a winner...

    Things to expect out of this TR.

    * hand history from PLO cash games

    * chip stack pics

    * WSOP Event #11(PLO w/rebuys)

    * VP for free drinks

    * roulette hit n run #26

    * drunk TR updates at 3am

    * running bankroll total

    Last time doing a trip report was a learning curve, hope to do even better this time. I love the feed back.
    I'm a vodka drinker so I'm always looking for suggestions and cool bars that a 35 year old male would not seem creepy at solo. 24 hours till lift off....LETS GO!!!!!

    That's a pretty incredible hourly on Ignition if you're only playing 5/5 (obviously not sustainable, but enjoy the rungood for as long as you can! That's a fantastic start to the year)

    Excellent start to a poker TR. Good luck on your deep run.

    And remember, when it comes to PLO: 2 pairs are the nuts!

    (I'm a vodka drinker, too. My only interesting development in that regard was checking out the Moscow Mules at every Vegas casino that I could find that served them on my last trip. My favorite was MGM, followed by Flamingo and Bellagio, and Aria was actually my least favorite for some reason).

    Good luck! And for comp VP drinks, you won't look out of place at the Cosmo bars.

    On the way to the airport, packed a few more clothes then I thought I would and comfortable shoes since the chronological age of my feet are 90 years old. To start drinking or wait? Damn it i said this was going to be a profit trip, but I mean a 4 hour flight..... one thing I've learned in my 35 years is that I don't have social drink or 2... I'm more of a light switch its ethier on or off.... I think it may be time to turn it on...

    No matter, it's the downtime right now that I like to remind myself no matter how the cards run, I'm sure blessed to have the freedom to do trip like this, enjoy the journey...

    Atlanta security u got to love it, if your ever traveling thru don't freak out if the like looks like its crazy long and u will be late, they move pretty quick. With that being said i still need to do that TSA pre check thing. I travel enough to justify it. With that being said my shaving cream looked like a terrorist so they confiscate it... ( down $5 already). I started going bald about 4 years ago instead of fighting the good fight and lying to myself I just shave my head now, have to pick some up at the ABC store... it is pool season after all

    Played the PLO rebuy last year and play was as you’d expect

    Checked in at dimond check in without trying to feel overly important, I'm not. Lines where not bad a regular checkin because of the kiosk fad. 21st floor not much a of a view but a bed and a shower, doesn't smell of weed so in good to go. Decide to late reg in the $400 plo 8 max at ph... so I take exactly 400 with me and its $600...well damn. The reason I took 400 exactly is to keep me from gambling in the pit so thier is only one answer. Go to the pit and turn the 400 into 600 obviously. Lol $655 In about 7 hands at UTH i 20180602_182729.jpg made a full house and trips twice in seven hands. I decide I don't want to play a tourney after all. Quick dip into the diamond lounge for a snack and now ita time to shave and shower.... should be sliding into aria cash games about 8pm if this goes as planned
    Bankroll $5255.
