The nice thing about going to Mass on Saturday is that I can beat the crowd for breakfast Sunday morning. That doesn't work, however, if you spend an hour in your hotel room trying to decide where to go.

Eventually settled on BabyStacks Cafe. I ate there for the first time in December, but at the S Buffalo location. Today I went to the N Buffalo location. Thirty-five minute wait, but it was worth it. Breakfast burrito with bacon and a small stack of red velvet pancakes.

Account for the periodic breaks while waiting for a scratch-off, and it sounds like I was playing at that pace. Probably not too many JOB tournaments, though.

How much coin-in per day are you doing?
Sounds like you might be doing enough to get a meal comped.
The girls at the player's club can give out comps for the buffet, I've seen their boss give comps for 777, host can do any of the three downtown properties.

Coin-in was about $4,000 at MSS on Saturday and about $6,000 at Fremont on Sunday. I spoke with a host at the Cal last night and she waived my room rate ($55) for the second night.

Account status on the television is still showing resort fees, though. Without prompting, the check-in agent noted I booked before resort fees announced, so I wouldn't have to pay them. Hopefully this is an easy fix.

I would go back and ask any host about it—not coin in but resort fees not in effect prior to actual booking. They can do a lot with that computer. I’d even ask the one at California if mss is crowded (which it usually is). Nothing like a timeline gone bad when you get someone at checkout that doesn’t know anything about correcting it.

After breakfast I went to Aliante. First time there. It reminded me of Red Rock. They still have their own players club for now, so I got $5 in free play after earning one point. I lost that earning another nine points to qualify for a "prize." My prize was a buy one get one free coupon for the buffet.

I won $60 playing $5 blackjack. Double deck, 3:2. First dealer was great, very friendly. Second was polite but not terribly interactive. Good drink service and not smoky at all. Nice to start my gambling day with a win.

Always wanted to go to an early Sunday mass then walk over to Wynn buffet for breakfast. But I'm rarely in Vegas on weekends.

Have only ever been to weekday masses, which they hold in a room in the parish center. How was the experience in the actual church?

It will be interesting to see if this works. I've often heard on here that rooms booked via third party could not be comped off.
(Or I might just be confused.)

Regardless, your play this trip will likely get you some room offers in the future, might be a few months before they show up.

Account balance on television showed first night pre-paid and the two nights of resort fees, so nothing for the room rate for Sunday night. I think it worked.

What probably worked in my favor is that the 3rd party site didn't collect payment from me. Somehow the first night was charged directly by the Cal on my credit card. The booking site actually explicitly said no payment would be made up front, but the Cal charged for the first night anyhow.

After Aliante I stopped at Cannery. They still have their own players club, too, with $5 in free play after earning one point. VP is $2 per point.

Sundays they have a promotion where you can get $5 in free play after earning 300 points. There were other choices, too, but I went for the free play. They also had something at the kiosk where you could get a prize after x, y, and 300 points. I don't remember the cutoffs for the first two swipes. I also had the LVA coupon for $10 free play after 250 points.

So the goal was 300 points, or 600 coin-in. They had progressive 8/5 BP for quarters in the non-smoking room, I welcome break from the almost overwhelming smoke in the casino. The non-smoking room, however, was near the movie theater, so I got to replace smoke with burnt popcorn.

The results were - not good. Lost about $45 on $600 coin-in. I did hit a couple of quads, which makes the size of the loss a little surprising. You can't see it on the screen, but the progressive was at about $1,500.

My three swipes netted me some useless drawings in a contest, 2,000 points, and another 2,000 points. It turns out that these points combined were worth another $10 in free play.

I had a combined $30 in free play, and converted it to $25 on nickel VP, for a net loss of $20.

I played blackjack, too, but only briefly. I forgot to write down how I did, so I'm guessing I broke even.

I considered going to the movie theater to see Infinity War again, but the siren song of Super Times Pay (STP) VP would prove to be too much.

After returning my car to the valet at the Cal, I went to Fremont and turned in my ACG coupon for 5X points. According to VPfree2, 8/5 BP with STP for quarters is no longer available at Orleans, so Fremont would appear to be the only place to play it.

I normally only play a single line for quarters, but I have occasionally gone to three lines for quarters at the Mirage on 7/5 BP with STP. Always sheepishly regretted it, too. Still, this was full pay, and with the point multiplier was a positive expectation game. And I was already slightly ahead for the trip. And I was on vacation. Probably a few other rationalizations I have forgotten.

Having trouble posting pictures right now, so highlights will have to wait until the next post. [emoji383]

On the way to $4,400 coin-in I went up $400+ before cashing out $200 ahead.

Dinner was a take-out pastrami sandwich from the Binion's deli. It was free thanks to their casino app. Sandwich was delicious, but I didn't care for the Chicago Brewing Co. root beer.

I really appreciate how convenient it is to get between the Cal and Binion's.

So how did the rest of the evening's gambling go?

I lost $39 playing blackjack at Gold Gate. Lost another $100 playing bonus poker deluxe back at Fremont, although I did get one quad.

Took a break for more ice cream, and enjoyed it from the valet balcony at MSS. So glad someone else pointed it out in their trip report.

As mentioned earlier, I spoke with a host at the Cal and got the 2nd night free.

Back to Fremont for more STP, but just single line. Had to give up a dealt flush to try for the royal, but sadly did not convert.

I hit one quad before cashing out even.

Sometime during the evening I won $3.75 and a drawstring bag from the Mother Lode at Binion's.

Breakfast was at Market Street Cafe. Omelet with bacon, cheese, and green peppers. Omelet itself was fine, but hash browns were underdone, and one slice of toast was untoasted on one side but burnt on the other. Waitress never came back to refill coffee, either.

With that, I think I'm finally caught up. Currently lounging by the pool in the shade.

Great report! Had no idea Fremont had full pay BP STP, will definitely be hitting it up next week. Hope the rest of your trip goes well!

Nice TR, tks for posting. Sounds like you’re seated by an usher at the vigil mass? That’s interesting if I got that right....
