    My Trip Report

    Day # 1 Sunday
Boston to Denver to Las Vegas
Our plane landed at 12:50 PM. How exciting! Another fun trip to Las Vegas! My wife and I picked up a Nissan Versa from Dollar and were at the Mandalay Bay in no time. Our stay at the MB was for four days.
A room was ready upon check in. I love that! Our room was very nice. All the Mandalay Bay's rooms over the past couple of years or so have been renovated and you could tell. We had a great view of the pools and were on the 24th floor.

We were hungry after the long flight across the country, getting the car and checking in. We went to the Border Grill for some delicious Mexican food. A mojito and a beef quesadilla for my wife and a margarita and pork carnitas tacos for me. Our table was outside and you could see the Mandalay Bay tower through some palm trees from our seats.

After the Border Grill we went to the MB's casino and played video poker for around four to five hours. We had lots of fun, but the Mandalay Bay won.
We finished the day off by getting the car and driving up and down the Strip. It was so good to see all the casinos again.
It was a fun first day!

    Day # 2 Monday
We started Monday off by going to the Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant on Flamingo Road for breakfast. It was as good as ever. Bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast for my wife and ham, eggs, potatoes and toast for me.

Then we went to the Mirage and the Bellagio.
At the Mirage we played video poker for around two hours. My wife and I had some good machines with a number of quads for the both of us and a straight flush for me, but the Mirage still won.
The Japanese Spring theme in the Bellagio's flower conservatory is beautiful. If you get a chance, go see it.

Back in the Mandalay Bay's casino I didn't do too good with the video poker, but my wife was incredible. She hit 15 quads. Amazing!
For supper we went to Citizens in the Mandalay Bay. A hamburger and cole slaw for my wife and a Reuben sandwich with fries for me! Everything was delicious!
We then walked over to the Luxor through the Mandalay Place to see Carrot Top. What a wild and crazy guy! CT is full of fun and energy.
After the show we went looking for the royal flush back at the Mandalay Bay, but couldn't find it.
    Monday was another fun day!

    Day # 3 Tuesday
We started Day # 3 off by hitting the MB's amazing pool area. You name the type of pool and they have it. Wave pool, regular pool, lazy river... We sat by the lazy river in the shade. Nice! We stayed here for around 3 or 4 hours.

After the pool we hit the Mandalay Bay's casino again. I got a number of quads and a straight flush, but still could not come out ahead. My wife had a tough afternoon too.
Around 6 PM we drove Downtown to have a nice steak in the Redwood Steakhouse in the California. Our reservation was for 7 PM. What great meal we had! Everything was delicious!
The meal started out with olives and bread, My wife ordered a lettuce wedge for an appetizer, roasted potatoes that we shared, and a 16 ounce New York sirloin. I got the French onion soup, creamed corn that we shared, and also the 16 ounce sirloin. Wine for my wife and a Bud for me! The head chef, Henry, walked around the dining area and talked to us. A very nice man!
After playing some video poker in the California we wandered over to Fremont Street to catch the 10 PM Fremont Street Experience show. The show's music was from the Las Vegas rock group, The Killers.
We ended the day back at the Mandalay Bay where I turned $20 into a $180 and then lost it.

Cream corn looks so good. I miss eating it at Roberta’s/the flame at el Cortez.
    Steak looks tasty also.
Nice report with terrific pictures. Good luck with the video poker!

    Day # 4 Wednesday
Today we went over to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area to enjoy a drive on this park's scenic Northshore Road. It costs $20 for a pass to get in. This pass is good for a week. What amazing views you get from this road. The Northshore Road is around 50 miles long. We had lunch at a McDonald's in the desert town of Overton.
We got back to the Mandalay Bay around 1:30 PM and went right to the casino. My wife had a good afternoon with a number of quads. Three of her quads were $100 hits on a Bonus Poker game. I just did so so.
For supper we went to the Burger Bar in the Mandalay Place. Tasty burgers in a nice atmosphere!
Back at the Mandalay Bay we played some more video poker for around three hours. I did good and made over $200 during this after supper play.

    Day # 5 Thursday

Thursday was when we said "Goodbye" to the Mandalay Bay and "Hello" to The Orleans. We got to The Orleans around 10:30 AM, valeted the car and went to the registration. The check-in clerk said guests had to pay $20 to check in early. We told the clerk we would be back at 1 PM and gave our bags to the Bell Desk.
We were hungry and went to the Copper Whisk for a nice breakfast. An omelet for my wife and pancakes for me! I also got a side order of sausages that were delicious. I like how the Copper Whisk leaves a pot of coffee on the table when you get coffee. The Copper Whisk is a nice coffee shop.
We then hit the casino for a couple of hours.
Around 2 PM we went up to the room. The room was on the 15th floor with a Strip view.
Our room was very clean. The bathroom though was a bit dated and the AC unit could have been a little quieter. The room had a nice TV and a safe. The room's Strip view was amazing. You could see from the Stratosphere all the way down to the Mandalay Bay.

Around 7 PM we went to the Medley Buffet. Our card's points paid for the dinners. What a very nice buffet! Everything was delicious. After the buffet we played more video poker.
Our casino play for Thursday was up and down. No big wins, but lots of fun!

    Day # 6 Friday

Today we started off by enjoying the pool for a few hours. The Orleans has a nice pool with lots of pretty palm trees.

After the pool we were hungry and went to the Venetian to have lunch at the Grand Lux. The Grand Lux is always good and today was no exception. A Reuben pastrami sandwich for my wife and a grilled chicken sandwich for me. Excellent! The Venetian was hopping. It is such a beautiful casino and it's always fun to walk around in.
We then walked across the Strip to try our luck in the Mirage again. My wife and I love playing video poker here. We stayed here for around two hours.
After some rest, soda, junk food and TV in our room we hit the Orleans' casino again. Lots of quads, full houses and flushes for both of us, but the Orleans still won. A late night supper in the Copper Whisk finished off the day.

    Day # 7 Saturday
Today was just a travel day for us. We had to check out of the Orleans, return our car to Dollar and get to McCarran for a 11:50 AM flight home.
Las Vegas to Atlanta to Boston!
It was not a winning trip for my wife or me, but my wife brought home around 3/4 of her bank roll. It's also time for a diet. lol
Thanks for reading my trip report! I hope you enjoyed it.
    Viva Las Vegas!
