Please keep your political opinions out if the thread. Discussion about the closure and impacts are fine. The politics of it is not.

There were some talks today but no resolution.
    It is interesting to note.....

"Stewart pointed out that 10 years ago the average hourly wage for a casino worker was $15.30. Today the average is $17.
“If you look at inflation for the last 10 years it’s up 17 per cent so that would put the average hourly rate at $17.90. They’re 90 cents behind inflation so you can understand their frustration. It’s hit them hard.”

Talks break off between Caesars Windsor and Unifor

I remember when I was in college about 13-14 years ago before CET bought this property, they had a labor strike that closed the property that closed it for a couple weeks (used to drive up there a lot). Really like Casino Windsor and haven't been in a long time - hope they get it worked out quickly.

Yes we just got an email notification that our res. for 5/4 and the Brian Wilson concert are cancelled/postponed. What a drag, and this sucks for all 3 groups....union, management and players. Thinking of going to Joliet for the night Saturday 5/5 will see.

I have my ASP #1 trip planned for May 22, if it gets canceled hopefully they will allow me to re-book it. I already get free rooms, so all I really want is the $100 polio credit to use at Nero.

That is good news, though it has been nice to keep our bank account growing. I hope both sides are happy and it passes, then it's time to hit a 15x day or 2 .....Rick

If the employees don't ratify this deal, I expect another long break in negotiations as 2 failed ratification votes spells trouble for union leadership. Beau Rivage already got my May/June money as I just recently set-up a Father's Day junket with them. Unless Windsor offers me a Fireworks viewing package, it may be a few months until I visit again,

Not privy to anything but when the president and the National endorse something and the body rejects the agreement there is a disconnect. Do the part-time workers have a whole vote of is it a partial and I wonder how much longer the strike funds last?? Too bad for all 3 parties involved, CET/Workers/Guests....Rick
