94A167BD-42AC-4B18-A21E-CBBC6B5C9087.jpeg they have almost cleared the entire floor from Dave’s bar to the escalator. It is to be converted to ball / meeting rooms. Escalators will come out and be replaced. Oh boy. Plan is to be done by September but the security guard who informed us was skeptical of the date.

That’s what you say. They had 4 original goldfish machines up there which is devastating according to the wife.
    But I agree.

I hope they keep Dave's Bar and the VP machines by the tourney area. I like playing up there.

I'm sure they know what they're doing, but a floor full of machines sure seems like it'd be more profitable than a meeting room that gets rented a couple of times per month.

They did the same thing at Sam's Town Tunica and that particular Magnolia room seldom gets used. I think someone in Boyd management likes taking out escalators.

I like the escalator trip. even when I am staying there, I get off on mezzanine and take the escalator down to casino floor.
who knows what they are thinking.
they should hire my coworkers to run a casino. it would produce about the same result.

They use the meeting rooms to gather the charter in the early morning before they put everyone on the bus for the flight back to honolulu. That's 4 to 5 times a week. Lots of class reunions, family reunions. Every time I go, I see several of them posted. I know if they don't make it convenient, they won't get the reunion. Heck, even the golf guys organize something, and it's just a small group.

Will this affect Aloha Specialities and the ice cream shop?

Wow can't believe they are getting rid of the escalators. The elevators will get very busy. What will happen to the area with all the coin dropper machines?

I wonder when the clearing occurred. I last went down the escalator the morning of May 1 after leaving MSS (and several times on the Sunday and Monday before). Of course, being on a "mission," there's a good chance I wouldn't have noticed anyway!

Very interesting. o_O Those 25 cent 9/6 JOB coin droppers were very popular. Those nickel progressives were also up there but those machines were on their last leg. I always feel like Rain Man going down those escalators. ;)

Yes the escalators are being replaced. And Dave’s bar is done though currently active. This is according to a security guard. Coin droppers are safe he said and aloha specialties and lapperts are also ok.
I am guessing to location of the escalators are the problem with new walls going up so it is probably a matter of a few feet one way or another. But I am just guessing.

A year and a half ago when I was there for a whole weekend they didn't have a bartender at Dave's and minimal people playing around there, so has to have been awhile since it was "happening."

I would be very concerned if I owned one of the businesses on that hallway.
