heading to Vegas in a month and looking for the best steakhouse on the strip that isn't absolutely crazy priced. I have no problem paying 60 bucks for a really good steak, so Where's the best? How are the side items and dessert items too??

    Yeah, for me, it's

    Price
    Center Cut at Flamingo

    Coupon
    Tender at Luxor
    Camelot at Excalibur
    BLT at Bally's

But, IMHO, you ain't gonna find a steak at a "top class" steakhouse on the strip. If you're just talking $60 for the meat, maybe.

Is carnevino everything it's hyped up to be? Based on those other threads it seems like that's a top place?

20 people, 20 steak places, 20 opinions as to "best."

And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

So true. With that said my wife and I are not into the paying $$$$$$$$$ just to say we've had steak there.. For us "The Steakhouse" @ Circus Circus is a great steak in an 'old school feel' and cozy type of place.

Isn't there a steak special at Circus Circus for about $7 Or so. (Asking more for myself since we'll be there next week. And this may not be what the OP is looking for). Thanks

Not sure if you play myvegas but if you are trying to save $$ there are some $50 off $125 spend vouchers for the Excaliber and other steak places.

The ultimate in Old School ambiance is Golden Steer. For those who love the more contemporary steak houses you may be disappointed, however.

I think I've narrowed it to carnevino and center cuts.. Which one and why? Center cuts seems to have much lower prices

Well, for me it used to be that one of my FGFs worked there. (she has since moved on)

Today, if I hadn't made an effort to eat at a different steak house each time I visit Las Vegas, I would go because of:

1)Proximity to my "home" casino, Harrahs
2)If I were paying out of pocket, the prices are "reasonable" (note that I get comps at many of the strip casinos)
3)I typically eat solo or with my BFF, so atmosphere/ambiance isn't important. Not that the a/a at Center Cut is "bad", it's just not like GR Steak, or one of the mLife steakhouses.
    4)service is prompt and efficient.

    My usual meal is

    1/2 dozen raw oysters
prime rib, or rib eye (bone in or out)
side of asparagus or the "sauteed greens" of the day.

As a disclaimer I haven't eaten at Center Cut in a while, but it's really just going to come down to personal preference. Carnevino is just simply better. Better atmosphere, better food, etc. But you've really picked two different levels of steakhouse. So the question is simply, "Is the price difference worth the better quality". If you're looking for a great experience and great food, and you're fine with spending the extra money then go with Carnevino. If you're just looking for a high quality meal but are looking for more of a "value" then go with Center Cut.

On the Strip? SW, Cut or Carnevino. Take your pick. I think with these you get what you pay for. But, there will be page after page of different opinions. I used to include Prime.

Most discussed food and subject on the Board. Everybody in Vegas has a steak place.

Cut, SW, GR Steak are my 3 favourite on the strip, and throw in Strip House, too.

I liked Carnevino, but just had an overall better experience at Cut, and I gave Carnevino 3 spins, just because my friend absolutely loves the place.

Agree with all of the above. I'm not a fan of Carnevino and maybe it's because I ate their a little late in the night...

Our fave is hands-down Delmonico. Second place is a knife-fight between Cut and SW. But it's Emeril's steakhouse we keep going back to.
