I had 100,000, and they disappeared today. Now it’s only showing 110 hats. I sent a message to Binions support, and haven’t heard back yet.

FYI, they cut the number of hats you can get per ad watched. Used to be 4-5 easy and now it's ~1-2.

Looks like they brought the earning level down to match another one of their apps, Comp City.

I was wondering what I was doing wrong...all of you talking about all the hats you were earning and I started playing this past weekend and barely earning any. Dang, another good deal just got a lot worse, it seems.

Be sure to log in to get the rewards as you will get 20 hats as the bonus itself, which is far more than the hats you can earn with the chips from the bonus.

Was averaging over 150 hats a day doing the bonuses. One day did 233. Now about 30 with the 20 on third bonus. So now will average about 1000 a month equal to$12.50 in rewards, but have 45,000 and not going til Halloween

I'm about to redeem hats for my first food prize. Is there a time limit to use the prize?

Unless you're unlucky and they redeem the rewards immediately. I'm sure it was a glitch, but someone on the Binions app page on Facebook had all of their purchased awards marked redeemed a while before they even visited Las Vegas.

I had over 1,600 hats and they all disappeared last Sunday and the game reset back to level 1. Like Betmar, I also emailed customer support but have received no response back as of today. I did enjoy the game but certainly not worth playing if you can randomly lose all of your progress. I'll stick to the myVegas games I guess!

The conspiracy nut in me thinks maybe Olaf works for Playstudios and is trying to earn MV a little more respect. They pulled the plug quick, though. Hat earning is almost non-existent. I cashed in a BBQ reward, but doubt I'll make it to a shirt (400 hats and 16 days to go). This could hurt how many extra people make it to the property. Folks are really turned off to the game now. With MV, you earned a bunch of points and ran through all of the rewards. With Binion's you have a ton of brand new rewards but no points to use for them unless you racked up from day one and haven't gone there.

Numerous players lost the 10,000 hats or so. I believe it was due to being rewarded multiple times for the 2,000,000 friends bonus and earning hats at a ratio higher than what was supposed to be earned. I only have 3600. I was earning fairly nicely, even only being able to do it a few times a day. Now however I've only earned around 200 since Monday. I had been hoping for the steakhouse reward. Doubt that will happen now.

My theory -- speculation like that of most everyone else -- is that they simply set the bar too low. It was too easy to earn a $100 steakhouse credit, or more, in a period of weeks, and it could be done without making any sort of purchases of game chips. After a couple of months of seeing how many people were playing the game and what they were getting in return, they realized that the free food and other items being given away exceeded the budget for comps from this game. And you know that if they're giving away $XX,000 worth of restaurant credit after two months, that total isn't likely to decrease in the next two months if all things stay the same.

I'm assuming this isn't a money maker for the casino. They don't brand an app and expect to turn a profit after giving away plenty of prizes. Even if $30 in BBQ restaurant credit costs them $6 in actual costs to give away, it's unlikely they're pulling in $7 in revenue every time that $30 gift goes out the door. It sounds like most people haven't spent a dime to play the game, and for those that have made an investment, it has been a minor, one-time purchase in every instance I'm read.

So they're not making money off of this, but are trying to entice new customers through a free game. That might work, occasionally. I don't go to Binion's now, and I go downtown plenty. I might spend an extra $5 of $10 out of pocket with a $30 comp, so perhaps they make a few bucks off of me when all is said and done, but I'm not going to start gambling there just because of a one-time food comp. Some will, plenty will simply walk right back out and go to their preferred casino and spend those slot machine dollars there. I highly doubt this is going to have a ripple effect through the rest of the property.

In the end they have a promotional game with lots of good prizes, and they are (by my theory) giving away more than they budgeted, or are about to, and they corrected the reward structure accordingly. Some will be angry, take their rewards, cash them in and walk away, it appears, based upon a few comments I've read. Those folks likely weren't going to become new, dedicated customers anyway.

Yes, people like me who thought they would be able to earn three comps easily before their next trip in the fall are disappointed, as multiple comps won't be so easily attainable, if at all. As I've learned, promotions come and go without much warning, if any, and a great promotion today may be a ghost tomorrow. This promotion hasn't disappeared, but yeah, it has discouraged some active players from sticking with it.

Personally I'd rather see the promotion stick around as it was and provide me with a variety of free meals during my next trip. Instead I'll have to settle for being thankful that I should get at least one worthwhile comp out of it, and likely at least one more, before my next trip. If so, then I got something of good value in exchange for very little effort, and a lot of video poker playing, which I have enjoyed. I wish my Yahtzee or Wheel of Fortune apps did that for me.

I do feel bad for those who invested more than a modest $1.99 for tokens and expected that the payouts/prize structure would be the same, only to find it has been diminished with no notice. Life is full of those risks, and such disappointment happens now and again. Anyone ever get stuck with a gift card/certificate for a business that shuttered with no notice? It has happened to most of us, I suspect.

Well, I spent my $1.99 and that’s all they’ll get from me. They’ve choked the meter back to one hat per video, so two hats per visit and twenty bonus hats per day. I’ve got three weeks to choke out three to six hundred more and I’ll earn a free burger or some barbecue. Seems fair enough since I almost never play there. They should charge me a resort fee for walking through their casino to get to and from The Cal. Nobody say that out loud!

I still like the app, I'll bag 2 free meals with only 8 weeks of play. I finally noticed that hats taking longer to accrue this week, but still can grab around 30-40 a day with limited gaming. I once got 40 free hats in one day, a bonus of 20 hats was received twice.

Please be aware that numerous people (including me) have has "hats" taken away or rewards marked as "redeemed". Supposedly they allowed awards to be earned to quickly and took them from players. The earning rate is now painfully slow. If you know anyone at Binions or LVA let them know what their partner is doing.
