OK, gobbled up the Delano offer, had the Scenic Suite room type available.

I'm a little late joining the discussion but want to add my two cents. To us, the best thing about MB IS it's location. Not as much foot traffic, casino is pretty quiet during the day, rooms are lovely and it has a good mix of restaurants. We're not sitting by the pool every day but, when we do go, we love the complex.
Things we don't like: VP machines are mostly the old upright ones-not many slant-tops, and the buffet leaves something to be desired.

The location is only issue if you're the type to head in and out of your main hotel throughout the day. Most of my trips are pretty low key, so I'm either chilling at the spa or by the pool in the morning/afternoon. If I head mid-strip it's usually around dinner time, I'll grab a Uber and pretty much stay out for a good while.

    Otherwise, my tips:
    • MB Spa over Delano Bathhouse
    • Della's for Breakfast
    • Skyfall for a drink and to take in the view
    • There's a free shelf in the mini-bar fridge for your own drinks.

Also, if you are there on a weekend, the AYCE brunch at the Border Grill is killer. Unlimited small plates. One of my best meals ever in Vegas.

Well you guys have convinced me to give MB a try. I had a ton of myvegas points that I forgot about so I used some to get a comp night at MB after 3 nights at Caesars after the wife and friends leave a day before me. I've walked through most Mlife properties and thrown around a few bucks here and there but have always done 99% of my gaming at CET properties. Hopefully I'll have some of my bankroll left to use that last night at MB to get on Mlifes radar.

The reason I always come back is the pool. I’m not huge into Vegas pool “scene” because the pools are only 3 feet deep! MB actually has a wave pool with water that goes over my head — so I’ll actually have fun in the damned pool rather than just sitting on a lounge chair. Also, as far as the casino’s upkeep and cleanliness, I think it’s far better than anything CET has to offer.

Downsides to me are the bleh buffet and to some extent the location. Like someone posted earlier, if you enjoy going in and out of your hotel all day, MB may not be for you.

We've stayed out in the boonies so many times that the location thing relative to MB just isn't a starter. We're inveterate walkers of the Strip no matter where we are, so if we decide to settle into one at the top of the line or the bottom, when the time comes to be "home," we're home. I still like Mandalay's feel, even the standard rooms are a good measure above most of the east side of the Strip, the restaurant lineup is broad, the pool is dynamic, and folks have the Delano and Four Seasons options, too.

Count me in as one of those that love MB's pool and the Lazy River!! Standard rooms are nice with comfy beds, nice soaking tub, and floor to ceiling windows. I agree, the location is not the best but then again it makes for a nice and quiet time away from the hustle and bustle. I'm booked for two nights in June on a myvegas comp.

Glad to see so many positive comments in this thread about Mandalay Bay. I had a hard time choosing where our next family stay would be. I wanted to try something new and found myself venturing to MB a lot during our stays at Luxor and Excalibur with the kids, so it seemed worth a shot for trying out. The rooms look spacious for a family of 5 too!

    Why Mandalay Bay (For me):
    • 1. I've been ruined by Aria and Cosmo. I love my floor-to-ceiling windows, separate shower and tub, and separate water closet. Mandalay Bay has all three. Mirage comes close! (In the tower rooms at above), but usually, NO floor-to-ceiling windows at Mirage, in tower rooms and below, unless you are in a junior suite. Score for MB.
    • 2. I love slots, but I don't want to be rubbing elbows with other players! Ok, I chat up a storm on VMB, and I always take care of others at home. But, when I go to Vegas, it's ME time. I do NOT want to be 2 inches from my neighbor on a machine, chatting it up. (Paris drove me nuts, way too close for comfort!) MB has a really roomy floor, with plenty of breathing room between machines. Score!
    • 3. Pools: Its almost funny that I'm writing on pools. I am not a pool person. I come to Vegas for playing slots, good food, good beds, good linens, great rooms, nice showers, good sleep, relax, wash, rinse, repeat. I don't care about pools. (Unless it's a lazy river pool, with lush greenery...then, Well, that's the ONE type of pool I like). MB has one of Vegas' BEST pool complexes, imo. At MB, I might actually consider taking a dip! MB has one of the very few lazy river pools left on the strip. And a lazy river pool at a hotel where ALL the rooms are good rooms! (Unlike MGM. Yes, they have the lazy river pool, but the also have the west wing king. Enough said.)
    • 4: A beautiful complex: Again, thanks to Aria and Cosmo, we've been spoiled, and I need a little "wow" factor going in. MB has a really pretty facility....lots of gorgeous stone and natural elements, high ceilings, lots of natural light in the common areas. I found it soothing.
    • 5: Great value: Their basic rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, a separate shower and tub, AND a water closet, for well under $100 a night, if you time it right. Better than many upper mid-tier suites elsewhere! Want more? At Aria, you jump from around $150 a night (basic room) to $500 a night (corner suite). At MB, you can bump up room tiers by $50-$120 a night per tier....giving you more choices on rooms.
Long story short; Cosmo and Aria ruined us. We've since stayed at Paris, Mirage, even Bellagio....we just weren't excited (and were very disapointed in some cases).

MB is NOT Cosmo or Aria, but we actually loved our stays there. Good rooms, good casino floor, good prices, floor-to-ceiling windows, walk in shower, a good budget range of food options, lots of live music...just a solid property, and it's the ONLY property besides Aria and Cosmo that we actually looked forward to staying at again!

Is it for everyone? What property is? But we liked it enough, that we will definitely return!

Why I like staying at MB,
The pool complex, the Spa, no crowds in casino, wide range of food options (their buffet, not so much) and it has a tram to Luxor, Excalibur if you want to get to the Strip. Several of their restaurants accept the myVegas rewards, Fleur, Lupo, Libertine Social, the noodle house, etc. I have yet to encounter a rude employee at this property. Just my 2 cents worth, its Vegas you will have fun no matter where you stay. Good Luck!!!

Big, clean and value. I love the separate shower and the spacious rooms. Last time I was there I was given a free upgrade to an elite king and the option for a penthouse just for $100 a night. In the other hand last time in the Mirage I was only offer an upgrade for a better view since their suite count is so low.
