We have always stayed downtown, but when we would go to the strip, we would get so drunk it was crazy. There were many times we would wake up in the morning and wonder how we got home. We would also get drunk downtown, but I always felt better when I could walk to my room without taking a bus to get there. We now have a rule- downtown before the sun's down - Anybody else do this?

I always say that I want to stay up all night and people watch to see how the casino atmosphere changes through the early hours. I've not made it through yet. Usualy back between 12-3.

I don’t have a rule, but if I’m doing heavy drinking I try to make my way back toward where I’m staying as the night progresses. That way, when it’s time to call it a night I’m no further than the 20 minutes it takes to walk from PH to Mirage or Bellagio to MGM, etc. Riding in a cab/Uber just makes me miserably dizzy.

I have no rule. I don’t drink so it makes it easy. However I do most of my gambling at my home base. If I’m out to dinner or a show, I'll usually just head back to Aria after that. If walking, might take a leisurely route as opposed to straight back. I lack the night crews in he craps pit at Aria and usually will get a few hours in before I head up to bed.

Generally, back in the capsule around three in the a.m.
While it may be technically true that the strip doesn't sleep, it can get pretty drowsy.

Boy do I remember those days... actually, I’m not all that sure I do! Yet another reason I prefer to just hang at one property or head out and work my way back to home base before I’ve got the proverbial “lamp-shade on my head!”

I also don't drink, but I gamble everywhere and go as long as I can. In Vegas, more than any other spot, I'll do a 5-hr Energy late on, and when that wears off, I head back to the hotel and wander around there til I'm ready to crash.

My rule is back to home casino by wife-goes-to-bed o’clock. Walk her back to the room say good night and back down to the casino. For some more gaming.

We usually stay at the Linq so home casino includes the table games at Harrah’s right inside.

I let my body dictate this more than the clock. I just crash when I think that's what's best.

I'm always back in the room by 2 am after my first night. The first night I'm usually so tired from traveling that I'm asleep by 10 pm.

No rule, but the older I get the less "going to bed as the sun's coming up" nights happen for me. Part of being older and *wiser* is being smart enough to let my body tell me when it's bed time, and I don't try to "push through" when I'm exhausted anymore.

My first few trips I tried to live up to the "up all night, it's Vegas!!" thing, but now that I've settled into a 4 trip a year pattern I know Vegas will still be there in a few months, I don't have to get only 4 hours of sleep cumulative on a trip now to feel like I'm maximizing Vegas time.

I stay on the CET side of the Strip so if I'm anywhere from PH to Wynn or at Mirage, Caesars, Bellagio or Cosmo, I feel like I'm basically "where I'm staying." In fact I love walking the Strip at 4 AM. The only time I'm away from the Strip is when I go Downtown and I love Downtown in the dead of night too, but the past two times I have headed back by 3 or so. We all reach the point where we just have to sleep and I prefer being only a walk away once I reach that point.

When I can no longer focus accurately on my cards (and those remaining in the deck), I know that it's time to call it a night...not that I always do, but my "rational self" knows that I should.
I am particularly careful about drinking when I'm on a solo trip - I don't let myself get drunk anywhere except where I'm staying.

After a lot of travel on the first day of my trip I’ll usually stay very close to where I’m staying and hit the hay around midnight. I’ve learned through experience not to start out a trip in a sleep deficit.

As far as the rest of the trip I’ll usually start heading black to where I’m staying around 10:00 pm. I like being back at my home base in case I want to have a few more drinks. I just find it more relaxing knowing I don’t have to worry about getting “home” if I want to overindulge.

I always plan to be back in home territory before I get too drunk, so that I only have to drive back to the room.

I got absolutely trashed in Nine Fine Irishmen last summer with my ex boss, but didn't realise how drunk I was until I attempted to leave. I was so drunk, I actually forgot my crutches the first time I left. For good measure, I missed the elevator to get up on the overpass, and rolled the damn thing when I turned too sharply :p

I was walking from Aria to Cosmo through the Crystals - spilling most of the drink - i knew it was time to head upstairs to my bed.

I agree that it's best to be careful with solo drunk time. I tend to do that pretty close to home, if I can. I usually only get college-level drunk when I've got my friends with me who will make sure I find my room again if I completely derail.

When I can no longer focus my eyes on the cards on the VP machine, or can't remember basic strategy, it's probably close to bed time. In the bar, when I can no longer operate a martini glass, it's time to think about bed. Walking.... hmm.. when you hit more than two bollards in a row, it's probably time to go to bed.

I was feeling pretty fine when I was downtown last month. I wasn't reeling, but I'd had quite a few cocktails, starting around 4pm. I was walking back to FSE, with all intentions of getting in a cab, but got a little side-tracked. I ended up down there another couple hours, but I only had another couple drinks and never felt out of control. Finally got a taxi back to The Strip around 1:30am. I remember how I got back to my hotel, but I was sure tired when I had to get up early for my breakfast date in the morning. :)

My body usually dictates what time I go to bed. Sometimes that's 11pm, other times, I'm walking back to my hotel with the walk of shame participants at 6-7 am. Just depends on the night's shenanigans. I think usually it's 12a-3a time frame.

We usually head back close to where we are staying for some late night gambling and drinks. Usually we go out and about during the day then just head back for the last couple of hours but times vary terribly for us as we have been sound asleep at 11pm and sometimes still raring for action at 5am.

Really wouldn't fancy trying to get an uber or another mode of transport with a 30min transfer when we have had enough and prefer just staggering from the casino or bar to our room when we have hit our tipping point.

I don't make a rule, when in Vegas I go with the flow. It hasn't bitten me yet.
