During downtime go on their website and make a rental reservation for next month. Add K as second driver. Get a total and see if there is an up charge. Then you know what. You are facing when returning the car. Good luck.

So our checkin at Silverton was less than stellar. The no resort fee and comp fridge Anthony had promised was not noted on the reservation. Anthony was not around and the other 2 hosts "didn't know what to do". So we agreed to resort fee and passed on the fridge. We have a small cooler bag we brought we put ice in to keep stuff cold. We'll talk to Anthony on Monday when we check out about the resort fees. On the plus side, the room is decent and the gambling went well for K. He hit some other good 4oaks and ended up about $900. I was down $175 for the night. We ate at the buffet which was very good, especially the corned beef. Here are some pics - buffet plate and some close call Royals. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

We aren't married, but I always get my partner added for free with Alamo. Have not tried with other rental companies, mainly because Alamo seem to be best value coming from the UK.

I believe we always are told an up-charge if I want to add my husband as an extra driver. So, car always just stays in my name and he rides shotgun. I haven't used Alamo in years due to lower rates with Budget, Payless and Advantage.
JOIN THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY'S CLUB and never stand in line again! You just go straight to the garage. They're free to join and I belong to all of them.

State law in NV allows the spouse of a renter to be an automatic authorized additional driver (provided they meet normal renter requirements) without any additional charge. If you are being charged extra you are getting scammed.

smerrian is right on the second point - ALWAYS JOIN THE RENTAL CLUB. I've been a loyal Avis renter for years, and they practically just throw the keys at me as I walk by.

I third the advice to always join the rental club.

We travel a lot. I could have easily gotten the second driver fee wrong as it could be just out of habit from when renting at other cities. Also, I come in to LV for 2 weeks. My husband usually joins me somewhere in the middle for a few days...that's all he can handle. I usually already have the car. Once every few years we end up starting out in Vegas together.

Recap of Saturday 4/14 our first full day. Up about 4:30 which is actually later than we usually get up on our first day. Showered and headed down to play vp. I finally hit my first 2 4oak.

K was complaining his morning wasn't going so well. Then he hit this
    [IMG]

No more sympathy from me about a bad day! We ate breakfast at the Sundance grill. I had the breakfast burrito and it was excellent. My $25 food voucher covered our meal.

We headed out to Ellis Island to use our LVA and ACG coupons. We both hit for $200 while playing the required $25 through to get our free play. I was so excited I forgot to take a picture. Played both $10 MP on roulette. I won 1 and K lost both.

Moved onto the Tuscany for the free play coupon. A few years ago we went here to use ACG coupon and they actually asked to see the card. Of course I had left it in the hotel room and they refused to honor the coupon! So I made sure I had the card with me. Things were ok here. I played some 8/5 bonus triple play. Got dealt 4oak. Always nice. Pics are loading for some reason. Going to post this and start next reply.

Played here for a while longer and left down $30. Next stop was Gold Coast for the coupon. Last year I had an awesome day here hitting a royal, dealt SF on TP and winning $400 on the mega bucks. This was not to be repeated this year. Neither of us could get anything going here so we didn't stay long.

Next we headed back to the Silverton. I decided to try some $5 BJ. I haven't played this in a few trips. It was fun and the people at my table were nice. Bought in for $100. Got up to $150 and got crazy and started betting $10! Got back to $100 quickly and went back to $5. Dealer change and this guy could not miss. I ended up busting out. Oh well. Played for about 2 hours. I only hit 1 BJ that entire time!

Went back to VP and nothing good was happening. I decided to come up to the room to rest. This was at 5:30. I ended up falling asleep and never went back to the casino! I woke up a couple times briefly but basically slept through until 2:30 am. We are now going to head to the Sundance grill for the late night cheeseburger special and then back to VP. They have a farmers market here at 9am we are going to check out and get some fruit. After that not sure where we will head but most likely Southpoint! Looking forward to VP turning around for me. K had hit a total of 8 4 As (2 with kicker). I'm jealous!!!!

I have always wanted to do a coupon run, but I don't rent a car, so that's out. It appears you are having a great time. Good luck.

I'm a happy camper right now. Settled in at the bar at Southpoint playing VP and watching the Celtics. Made a small wager on them at -3.5. Hope I didn't jinx them!

I had so much fun watching the Celtics. What a crazy game! My small bet definitely made it more interesting. When the Cs were up by 3 with .5 seconds left I was happy they were winning but upset I was losing my bet. Then when it went to OT I was happy I had a chance to win my bet but worried the Cs could lose the game! Obviously I was happy with the outcome! I haven't had such a range of emotions since the Pats/Falcons Super Bowl!

Can anyone explain the payout I got on this ticket? The clerk was not too friendly and I didn't want to ask. Bet $25 on Celtics -3.5 and got paid 47.73. Thought it should be $50. This is only the 4th sports bet I've ever made so I don't fully understand it. Thanks!

The -110 on your ticket indicates for every $11 you bet you win $10, so betting 25 indicates you will win 22.5 with a total return of 47.50 on your bet....have no clue about the extra .23.. hope this helps

You divide your wager by 1.1 to get your winnings. 25รท1.1=22.7272

NiceVP hits! I like Silverton, but don't seem to have much gambling luck there. Haven't been to the buffet, but I have had really good meals in Twin Creeks steakhouse and Sundance Grill.
