Look the the trip total is down ~440

    Not ideal but not terrible.

One poker session, and the BJ were the big wipeouts of the trip. With losses coming on the green chip play, I believe that is the worst BJ +/- I've had (with way less time than I used to play). Even if I equalize BJ to units by hands dealt it was a rough overall run.

Had so much fun doing quarters VP that future trips, BJ may be limited to the red chip fun time tables, and we'll save more roll for VP.

Didn't do many player 2 updates, but thats because despite bringing more roll he did not gamble a lot. He had a winning trip, up a bit in poker, down in limited VP with no quads, but had an epic run with Match plays where he kept getting dealt doubles and winning them.

Lol, looking back through the pictures and seeing that the last 2 quad 10s at the D were on some weird 5 cent double bonus. I had been cashing in and out trying to check on free play from the coupon, but no idea how I ended up on that game. Possible someone checked it while I took a bathroom break, and then I sat back down without noting.

Yeah if you cash out, then games sometimes switch variants. Pretty sad of Derek to offer that garbage 20-nickel game. I assume the paytables were much better at 5 quarters for all games. 8/5/4 Double Bonus is only 94.18%. That's the worst bartop choice at CET as well. Derek also screws over his patrons at Long Bar with 10/8/5/3/1/1 Bonus, coincidentally also 94.18%.

I think that happened to me at Cal too. Cashed out before doing some freeplay, and freeplay switched to 9-6 DDB

Ill watch more carefully in future

Final verdict on the Ballys resort room? Any issues with noise, bed comfort, service? Trying to figure out my home during WSOP in June, this is on my list (comped Resort Room offer).

    I'd recommend it.

Clean, bed comfortable, no street noise. Can only hear adjoining rooms from the bathroom, not the bedroom.

Didn't do housekeeping. Kiosk check in went fine. Desk checkout with no line and no problems.

The only minor noise was the AC switching on and off as it adjusted temp. But then we stayed at Cal and its AC was far noisier. Elevators were fast, even though 1 was out of service for Resort Tower. Also curtains are not a perfect blackout due to how low they hang (ambient light comes in above).

And if you are going to be there awhile on a world series trip, the fridge may come in handy too.

We were room 1008, which faces South with no real view to speak of.

Thanks, everything sounds perfect except the blinds not blocking the sunlight. That could ruin a late night when I need some sleep. Hmmm.....

I was an Orleans guest during the curling tournament last week. Seeing the fans and players in country clothing and accessories always brought a smile to my face. I had no idea it was that big a deal. There was one interesting thing involving one curling team that I witnessed. I was playing BJ on Sunday night, and a group of 4 or 5 young German men sat at the table. They were all dressed in black suits, white shirts and a red bow tie. They didn't speak good English and had a tough time understanding the Asian dealer game instructions over the background noise. Nice group of friendly guys. A Canadian fan came over to the table and asked these guys to autograph her jacket. They did and they all shared a couple laughs.

Yeah, @vegasvette - World Championships are the biggest deal, save perhaps for the Olympics. Lots of Canadians were there, volunteering and watching. The Canadian skip (Brad Gushue - Silver medal) said it was quite different for them with the hotel/casino right there. Typically, they curl in a rink and stay in hotels not necessarily nearby.

Did the Canadians squeak out a win in the 4th quarter? I missed the end.

No, sadly the skip pulled the string on an early draw and they were behind all night ... ;(.

They got outplayed the whole way. They conceded the "4th quarter".
