    My Trip Report

So I failed on my last Vegas trip to keep my trip report going past the first day, partly because it was such a short trip, and partly because I didn't bring my laptop and it became cumbersome updating the report using my iPad each day...but this time the laptop is packed and my trip is longer, so I am confident this one will go the distance!

Travelling from the UK - so have a 10 hour 45 minute flight over to Vegas, but the good news is that I am flying Business Class this trip, so I should be comfortable at least.

I'm currently sat in the Club World lounge at London Gatwick waiting for my flight - hopefully the weather is going to be much better in Vegas than it is here in London! Currently it's raining, cloudy and looking very dull...typical British Weather!

I am booked at two different properties this trip, to take advantage of freeplay. I have a room at NOBU for the full trip, to save lugging my case backwards and forwards, and the hotel is picking me up at LAS in a limo. The room is comped, apart from the last night, when I am paying around $400. Expensive considering I am paying for a single night, but hey the rest is comped so I can't complain. Hopefully the $400 should be comped off at the back end in any case. (I'm mainly a slots and VP player, mostly high limit). I am also staying at Aria to take advantage of MyVegas rewards and some freeplay - I am booked there Tuesday and Wednesday night, but probably won't stay in the room...then again it does depend where I end up gambling at the end of the night!

Bankroll for this trip is between $1000 and $2000 per day - depending on what I have planned. Tonight for example, I plan to not exceed $1000 as I won't get to Nobu until late afternoon - but tomorrow I am planning to attempt a 'Strip Crawl' of all the CET and Mlife properties, playing low limits with $100 budget for each. I'm not counting Circus or Rio, so this means 17 properties in total, and a budget of $1700. I'm going to play double or nothing in each casino, so any suggestions for games to play do let me know. A few people think I won't make it to all 17 casinos, but I'm going to give it my best shot! I expect to be awake early (damn jetlag!) so will grab an Uber to Mandalay Bay and start there.

The only other plans I have so far are a reservation at Hell's Kitchen on Friday, GR Steak on Saturday and Bally's Sterling Brunch on Sunday. I also plan to eat at the Aria and Bellagio lunch buffet over the next few days on MyVegas comps. As this is a solo trip, I don't see dining as important as I would if travelling with my partner.

I am also heading to the Great Vegas Beer Festival Downtown on Saturday, which should be good fun. I have VIP tickets, so should get to try some great beers and some nice food.

Who know's what else will happen, but I'll update as I go. Expect pictures and some videos once I get to Vegas, I'll also be adding some more bandwidth intensive bits to my blog (link in the signature below).

I'll leave you with a little bit of poetry, cause why not!

    Welcome to Las Vegas!
    Where the mood is contagious.
A mind-boggling array of food selections,
And far too many Elvis impersonations!

Some of the finest hotels in the nation,
And shows that require a standing-ovation.
The Bellagio and The MGM Grand.
It must be some kind of dream land!

And of course, you can’t forget the gambling,
Mostly games of luck, but some are challenging.
Poker, Slot Machines and Black Jack,
How much did you gamble? Who is keeping track!

It’s an atmosphere unlike any other,
Bring your friends, and your mother!
The blinding lights are nothing to fear.
Because what happens here, stays here!

Looking forward to following along. Trying to convince my wife that I should try a solo trip this September (we are just back 4 weeks from our last trip), so really interested to how you get on and where you eat as a solo traveller.

Sounds amazing! Seems ages until my trip and I love the sound of the way you are planning to do Vegas! Good food, great hotels and a nice bank roll! Maybe one day I can get up to that sort of spend haha.

Hope your flight is good, I feel you being a brit.

Solo is the only way I really do Vegas nowadays, I like the freedom to do what I want when I want too much!!

Well I’ve arrived and successfully checked in at Nobu.

Global Entry was a godsend after a ten hour flight, I was literally waiting for my bag within a few minutes of leaving the plane. The regular line for immigration was huge!

Limo from Caesars was excellent as always, and the Nobu room is much bigger than I thought. I guess it is small by Vegas standards, but when you are coming from Europe it still feels big. I usually stay at the Augustus Tower but didn’t this time as decided I didn’t need that big a room on a solo trip. I was met at the limo by a member of staff from Nobu who took me to the hotel and up to my room. Great stuff.

There was a nice little box of treats waiting in the room, a welcome sight after a ten hour flight.

Now to freshen up before the jet lag kicks in, and then I’m off to gamble!!!

Well tonight has been a story of two halves!!

I was down to my last 200 bucks for the day when I bounced back with a couple of nice wins on $5 VP.

Then I thought I’d end the night with some $100 WOF just for the hell of it (I was up $500 so threw that in the machine) and then this happened:

Followed about 5 mins later by this:

I was toying with the idea of getting a massage whilst I’m here, I think I’ll definitely be getting one tomorrow now!!

Came back to the room but I’m about 400 TCs short of a 2500 day so I figured I’ll go back down and put another 400 on my TR Card before calling it a night!!

Awesome hits!!! Almost back to back is nice and now you have a good portion of the trip budget covered!

Saw your dates and plans, was disappointed you leave a couple days before I get there, would of tried a meetup. Have fun, will be following along

Indeed - the trip is covered now, I’ve set aside what I came with plus my flight costs and hotel costs and I’ll carry on gambling with what’s left! I’ll probably settle my room folio etc in cash now too, to save the foreign transaction fees on my credit card!

Headed to bed about 1.30am last night, was just too tired to carry on gambling in the end. This would have been 9.30am UK time, and I'd been up since 5am the previous day. The bonus of staying up so late is that I managed to sleep until 8am Vegas time, so hopefully I'm over any jet lag.

Once I drag myself out of bed I'm gonna go get some breakfast and then start on my attempted planned strip crawl!

Nice hits on WoF! I've never gotten lucky with the ol' "throw my winnings in high limit slots and see what happens" move... but I guess sometimes it works! That's awesome!
Enjoy the Strip crawl... it's one of my favorite things to do in Vegas...

It’s failed for me in the past too. I decided to chuck it in that machine as if you hit the wheel on $100 WOF it’s a guaranteed handpay and no tax for me either as a UK resident!

I saw some guy yesterday come up to it and chuck $100 in and hit the wheel on his first spin!
