Have a few drinks at the outside bar at the Flamingo near the Cromwell and people watch.

Can't say that I've ever been "bored" in LV. Just keep searching for a winner.

When I'm bored with gambling in or outside Vegas, I do one of two things, increase the denomination of my bet or take a nap.

Bored never. Running low on Money .... Yes. Grab a tall boy of PBR's and walk the strip. Maybe ahead over to the MGM and play the pony's for a quarter at a time.

Yep, the Double Down will wake me up real quick!!! Only been there a couple of times, and actually its not a bad dive bar, but my head was on a swivel the entire time each visit.

If not the Palomino then sitting at a slot outside some late club (much cheaper) watching the females strut their stuff.

I love that everyone keeps beating on that "bored" thing. :rolleyes2: I understand what you meant. I need to take a break now and then, especially when the casino is punishing me.

On my trip last week I did a couple things. I like to go to a museum. I did the Samurai exhibit at Bellagio and enjoyed it very much. Took a little over an hour and was just the right amount of time to have the gambling gods forget that they hate me. ;)

I also usually take a day and get out into the desert. This trip I went to a museum in Overton (north of Valley of Fire) and then drove the loop along the lake back to The Strip.

Yeah I knew I might get crucified by using the word bored. I also feel that maybe people who seem to be offended don’t go nearly as often? When you go 10 times a year and spend literally a month of each year in Vegas when you combine all the days, it is possible for the routine to become stagnant.

What I was trying to accomplish with this thread was to see not what people’s every trip musts are, but rather what are those little forgotten things that are done only from time to time. I’m always looking for my next little adventure in Vegas and trying something new.

And remember, macker, Vegas is an Emperor-has-no-clothes-type place for many.

If you have a car and it's not too hot, there are some great hikes at Red Rock Conservation Area. We'd done the drive before, but never hiked there until three weeks ago. We did a 6.5 mile loop hike on a Tuesday. It was beautiful. Very few people on the trail, two entirely different ecosystems along it, and you'd have thought you were 100 miles from Las Vegas. A huge change of pace!

We usually take long trips. There is so much to do without being in a casino all day, every day. We have checked out several museums, gone shopping, chilled by a pool, visited a lot of the surrounding areas, gone hiking, visited other towns and cities in Nevada, and many more things too.

It's nice to get away from the ringing slot machine noises sometimes.

If I have a couple of hours to kill I will just sit at MSS or the 2nd floor promenade and get onto the net.

I usually rent a car in vegas so if I have more free time I will drive around, sometimes going to Hoover Dam, Mesquite, or Nellis AFB to watch the planes take off. But I hardly have that much free time but I usually hit Harbor Freight, Trader Joe's, the Premium outlet mall south, Bass Pro (Silverton) or boulder highway casinos if I had free time.

Our trips are usually 10-14 days so when we're bored we get outta town for a day or two or three. We go for a hike, visit the Bird Preserve in Henderson, shop at Dillard's outlet, take a ride somewhere. There's never a lack of things to do if you have a car.

If I am there for 6-7 days I usually plan a side trip to Laughlin halfway thru. The hour and a half drive or shuttle ride with the beautiful scenery as I get close to the city is always relaxing. By the time I get checked in and unpacked, I am either ready to restart gambling or do a little river walking.
For my Vegas reset, I try and have a good book available and relax in the room with a drink. Having been to Vegas many times over many years, I know that back up plans are essential for my mental health and bankroll!
