We've got some great foodies here on VMB and I'm looking to get some input on what restaurants you'd recommend at V/P. I'll be there for a week in a few months and I'm just starting to plan a little for my trip. IIRC, the only places that I have eaten at there were Grand Lux and Yardbird and I really like both. Anyway, any help would be most welcome. Thanks VMBers!!! :peace:

    SushiSamba
    Grimaldi's Pizza
for a nice lunch/snack with a beer or two.
Bouchon for brunch. French pastries, baby. Nice people watching out on the patio.
Morels is good for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. A little hidden gem. Also great people watching and patio viewing.

I've walked by Grimaldi's dozens of times but never made it in. I have a sneaky feeling this will be the first place I go to grab a bite to eat after an early afternoon checkin. Can't wait.

    Hubs choice:

Delmonico - the best steakhouse in town. Just roll with what they give you and enjoy the best whisky list in the world. Service out the wazoo as well.
Morels - the best overlooked restaurant on the Strip. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with class and style. We have never had a less than stellar meal here, no matter what time of day. You could eat here every meal during your stay and be well served.
Bouchon - Thomas Keller hasn't lost a step. Pastries that will make you cry.
Grimaldis - grab a pizza and take it back to your room. Coal-fired ovens make the difference.
Room Service - never discount room service. Decent everything and you don't have to get dressed.

Really, the only place I would recommend you NOT try is Buddy V's. We were not happy with our experience there. Cannoli tasted frozen. Not a good thing for a place "known" for their baked goods.YMMV.

SushiSamba and Yardbird for sure (pictures in the food pics sticky if you want). Also LOVE the lamb chops at Carnevino, and a very good dry aged steak. If you want something quick, the noodle shop outside the poker room is pretty good. They had a Pho special once that was surprisingly good.

Carnevino is my favorite steak joint anywhere. Their dry aged steaks are out of this world. And plenty of fantastic stuff on the menu that isn’t steak. Plus, the slicing of the steak and explanation of the various parts of the cut is great theater (but kinda ******y too, lol). Good, if ridiculously priced, wine selection too. And the soundtrack is the best in Vegas.

For my money, it’s almost impossible to go wrong with Bouchon - at any time of the day. If you have to choose between brunch and dinner, though, brunch is probably the way to go. Also, if you don’t grab a few pastries from Bouchon Bakery downstairs to munch on in the room, you’re dead to me! :feedme:

Also, @MikeOPensacola , I’m flabbergasted that you haven’t yet fallen victim to the siren song that is the smell coming from Grimaldi’s o_O . As much as I love Carnevino, I always find it so difficult not to head up the escalator and have some pizza instead! Don’t get cute with the toppings, though. It isn’t some fancy, gourmet pizza place. Stick with the tried and true and pair it with a cold beer.

Plenty of other fantastic places in V/P, but those are my faves.

    Right?!

I almost felt blasphemous not ordering a big ass dry-aged steak, but wow were those things sooo good! And probably enough food for three! :feedme:

Do what we do: order of lamb chops, and a steak, served for the table. The place is very accommodating, and even did a tableside carving of a standard steak when we were there for lunch. Not what they normally do, but they suggested it when we mentioned splitting the two dishes,

And I have no idea what they do to those lamb chops, but wow. Maybe if I try them another (dozen or so) times, I'll figure it out :)

Just a tip for Grand Lux - you can order for takeout at the bakery/coffee shop that's attached, and room charge it. That bakery is also a good place to get coffee in the morning when the place right by the elevators is jammed up.

Grimaldi's is excellent but doesn't do room charge.

If you like fish, Tao does a Satay of Chilean Sea Bass that looks ridiculously good (there's pics and vids of it all over the place), I always plan to go there some afternoon and sit at the bar and order it, but never managed to get in there yet.

I have eaten at pretty much every restaurant there and aside from Buddy V's I have enjoyed them all. You really can't go wrong with any choice. I ate at Chica which is rather new a few weeks ago and I thought it was very good. Grimaldi's is good and is one of the lesser expensive options in the Venetian/Palazzo complex. If you are looking for a coffee and pastry try Paris Baguette. They have an upstairs seating area with great views.

I really love Sushi Samba, and try to get there every summer.

Cut is superb, though I'm skipping that this year, and going with Delmonico.

Tried Sugarcane last summer, and was impressed with that, too. I'm a big fan of tapas style eating, so it was great fun just ordering a bunch of dishes.

Let me add a recommendation: Aquaknox. It’s my personal favourite.

Bouchon for brunch or dinner! I always get the Croque Madame, but the roast chicken (when on the menu) is good too, along with other more dinnery-things. Can't go wrong with the pastries there, either!

Yardbird (if you go during a weekday, they have a great blue plate lunch special!)

B&B Ristorante, if it is still there, is fabulous, but fancy!

While CUT is pretty good, Delmonico is definitely better. The ribeye i had is a top 3 steak i've ever eaten, and i've eaten a lot of them. I have to try a few other places on my upcoming trip, but delmonico had several in the group i went with last year say it was the best steak they've ever had. As mentioned, service is top notch.

Yardbird southern table is a great lunch place. Any chicken dish is recommended.

I may be in the minority, but i think Buddy Vs is great if you want italian. Can't comment on the cannolis however. Veal Parm was outstanding (i don't normally eat veal though)

Bouchon is best at brunch IMO, the only place in town i prefer for breakfast/brunch over bouchon is Mon ami at paris.

Though not as highly recommended as some of the other establishments, Years ago i ate at Lavo Lounge, and while it was not a "standout" it was pretty solid and everything we ate was good. Excellent bread btw.
