Vegas water does not go straight from Lake Mead to the glass.

I'm also not walking into Charlie Palmer Steak with my Polar Bottle.

What is interesting is according to the OP, there was no mention of water prices on the menu. I rarely visit high-end nor celebrity restaurants so if this happened to me, I would have made the assumption that the water's price is factored in the price of whatever we ordered there.

I know enough that these places in prime locations in Vegas would command higher prices on everything you order. I have no problem paying for water. But having it tacked on at the end without knowledge would have been a surprise for me and a negative experience, not because of the money, but just because.

So I rated the OP's post "informative" because I didn't know some establishments will do this.

I consider myself sorta like a Vegas veteran but I'm the Vegas vet type that eats at McDonalds, Food Courts, and 24 hour Cafes the majority of the time.

I don't think this is a "Vegas" issue - it's a restaurant issue, and you'll likely find it at anything above a mid-priced family type place. If you don't know, ask. That's my motto in life :)

This is not exclusive to Vegas. At any restaurant anywhere where you are given a choice of water types, any choice other than "tap" will result in a charge. I have never seen this charge listed on the menu, nor would I expect it to be.

I won't tell you how many years, but in all my years of eating out (Vegas or not) I have never been charged for water except for this time.

On a different note about the crappy taste of Vegas water, we have stayed at PH the last few years and usually have to use bottle water to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth.
This paste trip we stayed in a renovated room (the new Resort Vista) and the water actually was very good.
It makes me wonder if they have added some sort of filtration system.

I always ask for iced tap water in LV. I've been frowned at a few times, but I'll live.

No matter where, anytime you are offered a choice of water, know that you will be charged. If tap is not mentioned and you don't want to pay, ask for it.

The water I received at Hell's Kitchen was referred to as 'flat.' It arrived in a blue glass bottle. I went through it all and was provided another. They were free. It did not taste like it came from a Flamingo bathroom sink tap, but, like most restaurant tap water...it had been filtered and tasted only 'wet.'

Water is about $9 per person (read my review).
    $90+ for 2 person lunch.
Food was good, but considering price and it being a GR place I give it below good.
It was a one and done place for us, but worth a try if you are a fan of the Hells Kitchen show.

Lived in the country in Ohio for many years where our water was from the sky into a cistern. I can't drink tap water anymore- the chlorine taste and smell are overpowering! Granted, my water had bird shit in it, but that didn't taste so bad! Wife always asks for tap with lemon, I request a diet. I have to laugh when they ask:"Coke?" And I ask;' Do you have any other diet?" "No." "Ok, Coke then!"
