Little know fact that Kim Carnes of Betty Davis Eyes fame sang backup vocals on the Fat Albert theme.

The early black and white Popeye’s, where he would make comments under his breath always cracked me up. Made before my time but still would turn up on Saturday mornings in the early sixties.

Roadrunner.......ACME systems probably taught me more about engineering and physics than anything in gradeschool, always trying to perfect Wile E.’s contraptions to actually get the Roadrunner.

I am way more a cartoon guy now than I was as a kid.

I don't know why but we just didn't get Bozo. First of all, we weren't allowed to watch TV when we got ready for school but beyond that, I just didn't get into all of that. We were pretty faithful to Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Caspar and Popeye. We liked the Banana Splits and Rocky and Bullwinkle for Fractured Fairy Tales and Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I didn't get Looney Tunes til I was older and that was perfect because I started to pick up on the jokes that were supposed to go over a kids head. When we were lucky we could get the channel that showed Speed racer to come in. And when stuff like Thundercats, She-Ra, He-Man and Jem came out, we were big fans of all that too.

As a kid, I watched almost all of them! We kids hard-@$$ed my dad into getting a color TV and some of the first color programs I remember were the Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes cartoons. Also Popeye, but the B&W ones were much better than the color ones. Various H-B ones, both the ones made for kids (Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, etc.) and those made for grown-ups (Flintstones, Jetsons). All of the Saturday ones! :) R&B and the gang too! ("Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!" "Bail, bail, bail!") :)

I actually learned Stage Left and Stage Right from those cartoons! :)

Bugs Bunny/Road Runner hour was my absolute fave.

I also got a kick out of Yosemite Sam.

Yes and now with dvr'd you can pause backup or otherwise review for those uttering so. Some are classic with his little whistle slur at the end of the statement. As a kid it was "What'd he say".

We parked in front of the TV on Saturdays' from '64 - '70. But...our absolute favorites were the old Merrie Melodies cartoons. These were the shorts that showed in theaters back from the 30's to the 40's. They ran after school on the independent TV station in Charlotte. 'course, back then, TV used to actually sign off the air around 11:30 at night. The Saturday morning fare was good, but the after school stuff was our fave.

    Looney Tunes!

    And because I’m a child of the 80’s, G.I. Joe and He-Man.

I also loved those old cartoon PSAs...I still sing “I hanker for a hunk-a (or slab or slice or chunk-a) cheese” on a regular basis!

Scooby Doo pre Scrappy. All the Looney Tunes. So many voices done by Mel Blanc- such a talent. We have a subscription to the Boomerang network. I love Muttley on Wacky Races when he laughs or curses.

If I have to pick I'd say Bugs Bunny. But my favorite of all was watching Rugrats with my daughter :(

When my kids were little, I loved watching some of their cartoons... the best were 'Animaniacs', 'Pinky & the Brain' & 'Earthworm Jim'.

When I was a kid, it was the old Tex Avery stuff, 'Merry Melodies'/Looney Tunes, Jonny Quest, Rocky & Bullwinkle...and this one will jog some memories: Krazy-Kat & Ignatz.

I also liked the old, cell-animation Popeyes from the 30s & 40s... those were some great cartoons.
Here's a youtube with some clips from the 30s
