I've purchased the Las Vegas Advisor for the last 15+ years.....IMO, the book pays for itself 10X over. Last October I downloaded and started playing Anthony Curtis's Comp City slots game which awards prizes, of which the top prize is a free trip/air to Vegas/accommodations, and dinner with the man himself. Well, today I just hit 3200 points and as a result I get a free one year LVA membership, coupon book, and 12 mailed newsletters. I spent a whopping $2.99 for a first time chip offer....nothing else. What a frickin deal, and the games are fun. Is anyone else playing Comp City? If not, think about it.....IMO the book has as much value as the 4 awards I get for playing myvegas.

I'm playing it, and the Binion's game that is made by the same company. On Binion's I'm having no problem getting points, I'll earn enough to get a free room on my next trip, but on comp city I just cant seem to earn them at the same rate. Congrats on getting the free membership! I've been trying for a month and haven't even got 500 yet.

I'm playing Comp City and Binions too. Comp City is much harder to get points. I don't think I'll get anywhere near being able to redeem even the cheapest reward before we get to Las Vegas.

Just checked, I have 417 points on Comp City, and 3,301 on Binions Casino. I've been playing Binions for a bit longer, but not that long.

I've played Comp City a little over four months. My strategy is to watch the videos, 50K for 20 seconds or so, which you can get every 15 minutes. I also collect the 2 hour bonus, 100K points, and the daily spin, 5X the spin for my gold status. When I'm home and watching TV, or on the desktop computer, I'll have my Samsung tablet on, and collect points for the three myvegas games and comp city....these are the only online games I play. I'll build up the points and then wager 50K/100K a spin on my favorite Comp City game. When I'm on a roll I'll up the bet....this resulted in a chip balance of 500M during one session. I love getting stuff for practically nothing, even though my wife feels I'm a little to obsessed. :D Bottomlime, I like to win, and beat the system......and the game is fun to play. Unless Comp City changes the current set-up, I'll never pay another penny for the LVA, as I now have 10 months to get the 2019 coupon book....wow how time flys. Hopefully another VMB member will share another COMP CITY success story. Cheers, and good luck....hang in there, folks....IT CAN TURN ON A DIME.

What game do you think is the best one to play? I’ve tried them all and none stand out so far.

Only came across this today after reading your post

My go to game is "flush with cash". When you hit the bonus you have 5 cards that you pick from. Four are the different suit cards and one card is GO. Each suit card that you hit turns that suit in the bonus into a wild card/entire block. Hit the GO card and the bonus starts....the more suit cards you get the larger the bonus potential. If my wife's around I'll have her pick the cards. She gets a kick out of it, and it takes the self-inflicted pressure off me. :D

The point meter varies during play. Sometimes playing 50K a spin will result in one point with each spin, and sometimes it may take 10 spins to get a point. When the spins meter slows down I'll stop playing for awhile, and then start again after a few hours have passed and I've collected a couple two hour bonuses.....at times the win meter seems to reset, or maybe I'm imagining things. :drunk:

I checked earlier. 50k a spin took at least 10 spins to get a single point for me. I must be doing something wrong.

It eventually resets, and moves up and down daily as far as the number of spins to get a point. I truly thought that as I got closer to the 3200 points that I needed for the LVA coupon book award that it would take 50 spins (something crazy) for a point......didn't happen. I plan on claiming my award this weekend, even though my membership ends in July. I want the book for trades, and especially the monthly mailed newsletters....milk, Anthony Curtis for every cent. LOL.

Slots huh? I've only been playing video poker... Maybe slots accrue faster? I've also noticed a slowdown in earning tickets/hats, especially on binions. If I wait a day the accrual rate ramps back up a lot. Has anyone redeemed a Four Queens room reward yet? I'm curious how it works.

Just to add, I've earned another 70 points today, and I've played sporadically.

I just redeemed 3200 points for the LVA membership/book. The site said to allow 30 days for shipping, and I received a confirmation email. We also moved our trip to May as we found out that our daughter will be in Vegas when we were booked in June. She's going with 7 girlfriends for a bachelorette party. We will not cramp her visit and she will not cramp ours.;)

Awesome! I wish I could get up that high... Mine just won't accrue quickly on comp city. On binions though I just discovered that sometimes the two hourly bonus gives you 20 hats instead of the 100,000 chips! Woohoo, wish comp city did the same

The rewards on Binion’s are QOD, wheel of fortune, then 20 silver hats. After that it’s a set amount of points. The actual number escapes me just now. 11pm in Spain just now and I haven’t had a non alcoholic drink all day.

Thanks to VMB I downloaded both of these apps today. Hit a Royal (of course) within 10 minutes on Comp City. Hope to get the LVA Membership and some good Binions food rewards in time for my 4th of July trip.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Random question about Binion's app.
It has three meters at the top: 1) chips, 2) "something" with dollar sign, 3) silver hats. What does the second meter mean? It always displays "$ 0.00".
