Made it to nyny. Pai gow poker minimum is $25! wth? So, just using the MyVegas voucher for nine fine, then probably headed to Cromwell for a final pai gow session. Black & black, fish & chips, and lemon cheesecake should put me right around $35, fyi you solo diners using the MyVegas voucher.

Some snaps from today. Cosmo has The Big Lebowski game too, so I gave them some play, but i am just not built for all day drinking anymore so no Bond yet, maybe on the way back. Can't decide if its a sign of maturity, or I'm becoming an old fogie. Anyway, hope this tr isnt too annoying... [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Well Im back in the room & getting packed for my early flight. Gambling was meh today, slots were ok but table games did not cooperate. Oh well, I just view that as future luck in the gas line. Next trip I will hit better.

Always wanted to try Flour & Barley on the linq promenade, so I went down. Turns out the have a happy hour from 2-6, so my $17 pizza was only $10. Also got a Stella to go, but they have lots of good liquor there for cocktails.

Spent some time in Crystals. Boy I love the smell of that place! Its probably supposed to make me want to gamble, but it calms me down.

Some random snaps from today's water treading. I'll write up some final thoughts once Im home. Good trip, but kind of a blur! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I know! My girl loves it though, so I played it for her. Got a random "tea service" bonus, and some Christmas tree bonus.

Getting ready to scoot. Gonna buy one of these souvenir mugs. My box of leftover tito coins got flagged by tsa & they checked each one![IMG]

Ok I'm back, I've been having a bad allergic reaction to something. Either my cat has found a poisioned patch of bushes to play in, or I'd come in contact with some sunscreen. Eyes have been swollen, and my cheeks are a little bit blistery and rough too. I don't know if it was on the airline seat or what, but it's been a drag - meant to come back to work rested, and I come back looking like I was in Vegas the night before. Ah well, next time I won't bother resting up!

    Final thoughts, very random

~We went to a bunch of casinos, probably too many. New ones for me were Hard Rock, Green Valley, and the M. I liked the M the most, beautiful landscaping, staff were super nice, very spacious. I'd stay there if I felt like hiding out for a bit. Hard Rock was surprisingly nice too, busier than I thought, I would go back, lots to look at. South Point is always a party it seems, fun vibe.

~I ate at more buffets than I ever thought possible. Probably won't repeat that. Some in the party were into them, so I went along. By the time we hit the one at the M, I was done with them, but they had free beer, wine, hard cider and hard root beer, so that revived my enthusiam a bit LOL. It was on Sunday, so it was seafood day, don't know if the beer is free every time you go to that buffet. The Flamingo breakfast buffet wasn't that bad. The coffee was terrible, but if you are selective, you could find good things to eat (they had a pile of submarine sandwiches - brilliant!) and basically get out for the same money as an overpriced coffee, muffin and fruit. I would do it again. The Bacchanal was by far the best, even the 8 am sushi was good. And the lobster eggs benedict, omg. I said to myself I will only eat the egg, not the carbs, opps! Fresh watermelon juice and cucumber basil juice, there were good choices even if you wanted to stick to your diet (I didn't). My only complaint with that one was that I don't think they used real maple syrup, despite the claim. Growing up in NH, you learn to identify the stuff, I don't imagine anyone else cares though. I was looking at the dispenser and thought "that has to be $500 worth of maple syrup!" But it wasn't. First world buffet problems!

~I got some good cocktails at the tables, but many casinos were crazy strict about not using phones at the table, more than usual. Even if you're not in a hand, and the phone is way off to the side and you want to check a text. They were especially nutty at Aria and the Hard Rock. Not a big deal, but I wanted to take pictures of my drinks! Good dirty martinis at the M, and they offered me a chocolate one, so that must be a specialty. Next time!

~I'm still in shock that they had $10 pai gow poker at Aria, but at 11:30 am, the cheapest I could find at NYNY was $25! Has the world gone crazy? Minimums went up to $15 at Cromwell and the like in the evening, although I did find some $10 at Cromwell early in the day.

~Hofbrauhaus was a good experience, want to bring my friends there on my next visit, it was fun!

~Frankies was great as always. A little busier that normal, some more bro-tourists than I am used to seeing, but nothing can stop it from being the greatest place ever! Goal for next visit is to go in when it's dark, leave when the sun is out! Didn't buy a mug, probably because it was a losing trip, wish I had!

~Gambling was less than usual, and not profitable. I don't roll that high so the losses weren't bad.Such non-luck at pai gow. I had so many 4 flushes, 4-to-a straights, sometimes at the same time, it got absurd. I do like that I can drink and play that game though, I can't really do that with anything else, not even slots because I just turn into a trained chimp and lose all my money if I drink too much and slot! That said, The Big Lebowski machine was so fun, especially after comped beers at South Point! I probably should have played poker, but every room I peeked in on looked like it was full of the most miserable son of bitches on the planet. If I was solo that would be ok, but I didn't want a bad beat ruining my mood the one time a year I get to see my brother. So, whatever. I do like my local room, and I'm used to those miserable son of a bitches, so any bad breaks there just roll right off me. :D

~I intended to get something snazzy to drink and play a bunch of video poker at Bond, but I couldn't coordinate my drinking moods with my locale. When I was near a good video poker bar, I didn't feel like another drink! I'm either turning into an old fogey or maturing out of wanting to drink all day, not sure which is worse! I blame the dieting - my overall ability to intake "stuff" is lower now.

~As stated above, my hard liquor game was weak, but, I kind of turned into a beer drinker again on this trip. While the weather was chilly, it was good weather for outdoor beer drinking, especially on the Linq Promenade. Very fun  I also learned how to properly pronounce "hefeweizen."

~ The new Flamingo rooms are really nice. I don't know how or why I got such a nice room. I checked in late on a Friday night, no $20 trick, told the girl I didn't really need smoking but a view was important. She offered me a remodelled executive room for just $10 more a night, even though I opted in online for a new Flamingo room for around $19 a night I think. So it was a no brainer yes. I was on the 28th floor, which was the top, I could not be happier, probably the best room I deserve LOL. Would stay in the new Flamingo rooms again in a heartbeat. My only hesitation is that I might not get the 28th floor again LOL. Also really nice being so close to the Linq, if you get tired of the Flamingo vibe.

~The Lush store at the Ballys shops closed the day before I went to it! That was my go-to store for easy gifts to bring home!

~I didn't really do any elegant meals on this trip, so that is a regret. The pancakes at Jardin were a bit dry, but the coffee was great. Place was a bit too big for it's britches if you ask me. You're a casual place, people, or at least that is how the resort bills it. I do still want to try the flower pot cake there sometime. And I didn't get to Carbone, or Bardot, or even Jean Georges for a drink at the bar. For shame!

So that's it. Did a lot, but still didn't do everything! I am already checking and I have a few comped rooms at meh places, so a new trip will come together when the weather is better. I know this wasn't edge of your seat gaming or information, but I did enjoy reporting and taking blurry snaps of my travels. Until next time!

    final picture dumps

cp - random snaps & buffet. Love that sports book, need to learn sports so I can hang out there.

Also the M, cute turtle purse from Wynn, some shots around Hard Rock, including an inexplicable nude of Dave Navarro (?) outside the womens bathroom, and Aria. Sigh, miss you already (Aria, not Dave). [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Excellent report!! And you are correct about the remodeled rooms in Flamingo. I stayed there in February and got a remodeled room as well. They really are improving the rooms there. Heading there again April 1st for 6 nights. The weather looks great now and the Flamingo pool is awesome. And why are they so bothered about checking your phone while playing Pai Gow? I just want to check the sports scores, since I put some money on the games. I don't see why they need to make a stink out of it.:cuss:
