Joel Robuchon and other stuff

Stayed at the Bellagio Fountain View King. Room was very nice but I prefer the resort king in the spa tower.



I redeemed a MyVegas Bellagio dinner buffet and dined at the bar.

TIP: The bar seats were mostly open both times I visited. You can bypass the entire line and pay for everything at the bar if it is open. The service is much better and I found it more enjoyable than sitting in some of the far areas of the buffet.


JOEL ROBUCHON:




I arrived 20 minutes early but they immediately showed me to my seat. Sitting down was a three man job, with one pulling the table out and one pulling the chair out. Service here is impeccable.

My waiter was very patient and helped me order, giving his personal opinions. I decided on the $127 entree and dessert. They have a very limited beer selection, but I went for a pale lager from France. Their wine menu is bigger than the bible.

Then the butter arrived on a cart. Imported from France, it was freshly shaved and sprinkled with salt in front of me, as well as a side of Spanish olive oil.


The first item I ate was brought to me as finger food. It was a spicy quinoa ball with a lengthy description and presented as a piece of art. It was delicious but no picture.

Then the bread cart came.



While I ordered on the cheaper side of the menu, I still qualified for the world class service and unlimited bread. I tried to be modest but the server politely and happily insisted "its ok to say yes" when he asked me if I would like more.


I chose a mini baguette, mini croissant, milk bread, saffron roll, basil roll, and the funny looking bread had bacon and mustard included in the description. Saffron and Basil were my favorites. Caviar also arrived around this time. My first experience with caviar and it was delicious.


Next was my entree. La Boeuf - Wagyu.



Chef recommends medium rare, while I have never ordered MR, you better believe I went with the chef's recommendation here. Melt in your mouth amazing.

For dessert, I went with the server's favorite. Le Chocolat. From the description, I understood chocolate and black forrest cake.


Finally, the dessert cart arrived.



Everything is made fresh daily (No surprise) in exception to a few candies that they keep a day or two.


Pistachio Macaron, Creme Brûlée, "Lady bug", Wrapped marshmallow on a stick, Lemon meringue, salted caramel tart. This is heaven. Certain items had to be taken to the kitchen before they were served warm.

$10 for water, $10 for beer, $30 tip (20%), it all came out to $180. Worth every penny. I can only describe it as the best show in Vegas and you're sitting in the front row.

Although I prefer my butter unshaved. (I miss the classic 70's butter).

I went to L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon once and it was ridiculously amazing. Everything had layers of flavors and textures.

 

I always thought unshaven was the French way

Thanks for posting this, I've always wanted to eat there but I thought it was way beyond my budget. I didn't realize it could be done for $180 per person. I'm going to try to see if we can do Joel Rubuchon next weekend, that looks awesome!

 

I forgot to ask, what is the dress code,for Joel Robuchon?

 

Looks fantastic. We are normally keen to try high end restaurants but like many others here always felt the Joël robuchon was that little bit too expensive. Looks and sounds amazing. If I get a big win when I’m over in two weeks time I might just make a booking. If I get killed on the craps table I’ll just read the menu again...
