Paris or Caesars Palace... help!

Discussion in 'LV Strip Hotels' started by abdallah7107, Feb 13, 2018.

?

If you were comped for 6 nights at both properties, would you prefer to stay at CP or Paris?

  1. CP

    66.7%
  2. Paris

    25.9%
  3. Neither, go with another TR property!

    Hi everybody!

I'll be making my 25th trip to Vegas in 5 years this upcoming June. I'll be going with my wife and my sister. My sister has never been to Vegas so my wife and I really want to show her a good time. I'm in the process of booking a room for us and Total Rewards is comping me for a 6 night stay at either Paris (burgundy room - eiffel view) or Caesars (palace premium room).

Having stayed at both, I lean towards Caesars for the luxury but I still love Paris' theming and quaint size in comparison to Caesars. My wife thinks we should stay at Paris for the pool since it will definitely be hot and we spend a majority of our summer days by the pool. She thinks the Paris pool is much more scenic and open. She claims that the Garden of the Gods pools are beautiful but "smashed" in between buildings. She also argues that the size of Caesars will hinder my sister's enjoyment of Vegas because of all the walking.

What do you guys think? Is it ridiculous to consider Paris over Caesars, especially when considering the rack rates between the two?

I get the argument about Paris, but in the CP tower you're discussing, walking shouldn't be that bad.

And besides, part of that walking is CP simply having more to offer than Paris.

Caesars due to the booking being for "a room". The Palace Premium room is so much larger and your wife and sister will appreciate all the extra grooming space. IIRC, that room has a vanity outside of the bathroom on top of the double sink in the huge bathroom. As for the pool, I've never heard anyone make an argument in favor of Paris over CP. Does your wife realize how many pools they have at Caesars? They can't all feel smashed! Yeah, it is a lot of walking in Caesars but whenever I stayed there, that was always forgotten once I was back in the room. It's worth it.

Palace Premium would be a larger, far nicer room.

But the decision is closer (for me) because I do prefer the dining options at Paris.

I personally much prefer the Caesars pool and that might break the tie in pool months, but if she prefers the Paris pool or either of you isn't a big walker, staying at paris isn't exactly crazy.

I would take her to Caesars simply because Paris doesn't tend to be that expensive. It's her first time and I don't know how much she gambles, but it seems to me that if she goes back, it's easier for her to get a room for free or cheap at Paris, Caesars seems to be harder. At least she has done it once. If someone had taken me to Caesar's I wouldn't have wanted to stay there so bad on all my other trips. There's just something about that place. My husband chose it because it's Caesars. He's from India and didn't really know any of the other hotels. I wasn't going to say no to that. I hated my stay there but I don't regret booking it. I had to do it once.

I’ve stayed at both, Caesars hands down is nicer. TR isn’t as nice to me as they used to be, or maybe it’s because I haven’t been to their sister properties in AC in years. Nowadays I can get 4-5 nights comped at every place but Caesars. If you decide on Caesars the Palace tower is closest to the pool. I just got back from a 5 night stay at Paris, in a burgundy room. They did a nice job with the remodel, but my vote is still Caesars.

    Good luck.

I'm the odd one out that would prefer Paris. I'm very comfortable there. Burgundy rooms are very nice. Obviously she is ok with the pool (I like it because it is smaller, quieter and I find it very relaxing).

I also need to be able to access food or snacks quickly and Caesars can be a problem with that. (Diabetic). I have ended up going through every sweet thing I have had in the room and had to get dressed and run back downstairs to the newsstand at Paris for something sweet lol. Walking in hotel during normal hours at Caesars doesn't bother me. There are a couple of shortcuts that make it easier.

Thank you for all your input. I really appreciate it. I had no idea the Palace Tower was close to the pool. I've stayed in the Augustus and Octavius towers on my previous stay so I wonder what type of views Palace Tower offers. I've got my work cut out trying to convince them that Caesars is the better choice.

@leo21 I personally love Caesars' pools but my wife's argument is based on the pools' surroundings. Where Caesars' pools are surrounded by the various towers, Paris has open air view of the Eiffel Tower and the strip. However, there's no doubt that the quality of the actual pools and landscaping is far greater at Caesars than Paris.

We like them both and I made the decision this year to stay at Paris over Caesar's just for the ease of getting to the strip and I like the casino better. Having said that if you're looking to show your sister-in-law good time for her first trip to Vegas I would choose Caesars I love the pool at Caesars.

I truly enjoyed the very first time that we stayed at Caesars due to the luxury of it. Paris however is our favorite.

The sweets at Cafe Belle Madeleine are amazing. Try their chocolate covered strawberries next time you visit!

One night (AND ONLY ONE) they had leftovers from Cafe Belle Madeleine in the DL at Paris, including a few strawberries. If I hadn't been up there at the exact time I would have missed them. People grabbed those and did not limit themselves. Didn't open purses and dump them in but man it was close lol!!!

huh. Paris pool does look better. I should become a pool person on one of these trips.
I don't think it really matters which one you pick.. just to point out the obvious right? They will both be great.

Paris always feels too cramped to me and I don't get the "you have to walk too much" feeling that people have about Caesars. You're in Vegas; you're going to be walking everywhere.

It's not ridiculous to consider Paris, it's a nice resort and the Burgundy Eiffel is a great room/view, but I would still go with CP. I stayed at both last year and while the Burg is a fine room with a very nice bathroom, the Palace at CP is a step up in size and class. The walk lobby to tower isn't bad at all and there's just so much more to do in CP.

I always stay at Caesars, I consider if my home property in Vegas. I also don't get the argument people put forward about tons of walking - when I'm in Vegas I'm walking a lot anyway. I also have had little luck at the Paris Casino, all of my handpays have been at Caesars believe it or not!

Surprised to hear that! I've had absolutely terrible luck every single time at Caesars. Almost as bad as my luck at MGM Grand lol.

One of those strange things! It's all relative though I suppose, I also play there the most and only manage a couple trips a year coming from the UK

For 6 nights, I would consider calling and seeing if you could do 3 nights in each location. You and your better half each get to spend time where you'd prefer and the sister in law gets to experience two excellent properties.

I agree with seeing if you could do both. Maybe it is my ADHD but I always prefer to split up the trip between different properties.
