Next up, a trip across the street to the Palms.

    IMG_2980.JPG
Looks like they're doing some fairly extensive renovations. Still, it was much more crowded than either of the other places I visited today. Much younger crowd, but I wasn't that impressed overall. They do have a fancy McDonald's though, so that's something.

    IMG_2981.JPG

I signed up for a Stations players card (is Main Street Station not part of the Stations family? I got a Boyd card there...confusing) and got $5 free play which I turned into nine whole American dollars on $1 JOB. Winner!

    IMG_2985.JPG

Then hit the craps table and had 4 straight PSOs. Ugh. Still, I got my dollar chip and got out of there with minimal damage.

My dad asked me to bet the Eagles moneyline for him in the Super Bowl, which I did, and he asked me to parlay it onto the Yankees to win the World Series. Palms had the best price at 6/1, so I got that down here too. I was actually very impressed with this Sports book. The pics I took didn't really come out, but they have big and new tv screens. Overall I wasn't too impressed with the Palms, but I would definitely come back for a day of sport s betting. And I will with my dad when the Yankees win the World Series this year.

Well, if you know the area at all, you know what comes next: Rio.

    IMG_2986.JPG
There was a thread on here recently discussing the walk from Gold Coast to Rio, and lots of people were saying don't do it? I don't understand. It's literally across the street. Just cross st the crosswalk and it'll take you five minutes.

I avoided the craps table and went for some $5 blackjack. I was st s table with two Russian couples who insisted that they were from Texas. Maybe witness protection? They kept telling the dealer that the pitboss had a gun and was gonna come for him every time he busted. It was legit hilarious and we had a good time. I cashed out even after awhile.

    IMG_2987.JPG
Just like Rio in Brazil! Or Bally's in AC. Whatever, same diff.

I wasted yet another $20 on Thindering Buffalos (at this point I have to assume that the bonuses on those things are just hypothetical, right?) and cashed out. I placed some sports bets of my own for the evening (my wife went to Michigan State... go Sparty!) and turned my two drink tickets into a beer and an obscenely giant shot. I have no idea where I'm off to next, your guess is sd good as mine.

Unfortunately, my phone died, so photos from the rest of the day are sparse. I took the free Gold Coast shuttle back to the strip. It reminded my of the free shuttle I used to take to Aqueduct when I lived in Queens (that is not a compliment). Also, I wasn't crazy about the conservative talk radio that the driver was blasting, but it was free and easy, so who's complaining.

We arrived at the Linq promenade which I had somehow always missed previously. It's nice in a fancy-Midwest-chain restaurant kind of way. Not my cup of tea, but I get it.

    IMG_2991.JPG IMG_2992.JPG

I did stop into O'Sheas for some drive-by blackjack. I won $100 in about ten minutes and got the eff outta there. My dealer was named Antonio (I think), total hipster but really personable and a sharp dealer, too.

The rest of the Linq I just don't get. Other than O'Sheas, it's like they forgot to make room for a casino floor so they just stuck it in a generic lobby. Weird.

    IMG_2993.JPG

But I will give the Linq sports book credit. It's small, but very comfortable with plenty of seating. My games were starting so I bought a few beers and settled in. Xavier and Tennessee both came through for me (who says betting short road dogs is a bad idea?) and I met a guy from Nebraska who convinced me to put some money on them as well (another eventual winner).

While watching the games, I realized that I had to cash in my final MyVegas reward before checking out tomorrow...the Bellagio dinner buffet! I had been looking forward to it for so long, how the hell did it slip my mind?

The walk was lovely as the weather in Vegas this week continues to be absolutely perfect.

    IMG_2994.JPG

No pictures of the buffet, what with the dead phone, but I did laugh to myself that I was eating bland, rubbery mush at Gold Coast for lunch and snow crab for dinner at Bellagio. Probably not a lot of people pull that one off.

The Bellagio buffet is excellent. Someone wrote on this thread recently that they like the Luxor buffet better than Bellagio. While that person is entitled to their opinion, They are categorically incorrect. Luxor' buffet is a step above Gold Coast, while Bellagio has all you can eat caviar.

I watched the rest of my games at the Bellagio book (which is beautiful, duh) and the Ref Wings, Spartans and Warriors all let me down.

Realizing that I hadn't really given MGM any play today, and I was being comped by them, I tried one more session of craps at NYNY. Not good. But though it feels like I've been getting destroyed, I'm only down about one day's gambling budget after 4 full days of gambling. One good day and I could turn this thing all the way around.

I'll leave you with one last photo I got of some graffiti. It seems totally legit and you should totally call and get coke from this dude.

This is really good, especially for a first trip report! Hoping you find another hot shooter and recoup all your losses in one craps session! I never eat at buffets unless it’s on a cruise ship or free. I do however like Wicked Spoon as it has items you can’t find anywhere else and also Sterling Brunch at Bally’s. I can’t really even classify it as a buffet though with the impeccable service, unlimited champagne, caviar, and lobster. Good luck today and thanks again for sharing! @Rush did I see you finish your post with an emoji? Bwahahaha ;)

The smart money is to run across Valley View BLVD from the side entrance of Rio. There are no crosswalk or lights there at all. But this will shit you out into the middle of the Gold Coast parking lot, which you can navigate to get in the casino near the TGI Fridays I believe. That is the fastest, yet unoffical way of getting there. 5 minutes for sure!

But the safest way is to either walk all the way down to Viking (right side of Rio) or all the way down to Flamingo (Exit to the left of Rio) to cross the street using actual crosswalks and traffic lights. But either of those will put you at the extreme front or back of the Coast. And will double or triple the time to get there.

    Also, great report!

So I looked in to it, the phone number is attached to this business: Aloha Air Conditioning is one of 108 Air Conditioning Contractors & Systems in Henderson, NV 89011.

The person that pays that phone bill: Approx. Income, $38,757. Approx. Age, 45. Alt, 702-765-0006. Approx. Home Value, $286654

He cant be selling THAT much Coke if he works full time selling conditioned air in a fucking desert and only reporting $38K a year in income. But maybe thats how he affords a $300K home?

It's a bright new day. Checked out of NYNY and I can't say I was sad to see it behind me. After all the comps MyVegas rewards and $100 RC, the whole four nights, plus meals a show and two buffets cost me about $150, so I'm not complaining. But it wasn't a place I felt like hanging around. I took an uber to the Cromwell for my last night and wow, what a difference.

    IMG_2998.JPG

I even sort-of got that view I was hoping for!

    IMG_2999.JPG

    IMG_3004.JPG

I went looking for breakfast but got as far as the craps table. Bought in at an empty table and left a full table, up about $40. I then wandered over to th Flaming sports book and hit a winner at Gulfstream in the 2nd. It was a shirt price, but a winner is a winner!

    IMG_3005.JPG

Stopped over to see the flamingos. Cause why not, right?

    IMG_3007.JPG

I was never a slot player before, but MyVegas has successfully got me hooked. It also got me to patronize MGM resorts a lot more that I would have otherwise. Im shocked that Ceasars and others don't have something similar. My favorite game on MyVegas slots is Wonder Rose, so I put in $10 and hit a bonus, doubling my money. Another small win! That's going to be the theme of the day. Slow and steady wins the money back.

    IMG_3010.JPG

I had another short and small profitable craps session at Flamingo, then walked over to Ceasars. It was 11am and Gordon Ramsey's Hells Kitchen already had a line out front. I pushed my way in for some photos, and it looked like...a restaurant.

    IMG_3011.JPG IMG_3012.JPG IMG_3013.JPG
This was out front of ceasars. Happy New Year!

    IMG_3014.JPG

I absolutely love Ceasars Palace. Might be my favorite casino, though I've never stayed here. I'm currently at the sports book, where I hit another short priced winner at Gulf Stream. The ticket writers here are really nice and free with the drink tickets, especially if you leave a tip.

Still haven't had that breakfast I was looking for there hours ago, but I still have drink tickets, so I better stay here, right?

They put an extra set of lights in right across from the entrance to the parking lot.

No matter how much they change that hotel (the Cromwel) it always looks like Barbary Coast to me!
