    My Trip Report

It seems like it snuck up on me and I am not prepared. I ran around yesterday trying to get my ducks in a row.

Pedicure, bank- almost forgot that one, called I my RX the day before 3 meds- sleeping pill, BP, and my pre diabetic pill - kind of like being almost pregnant. My HGBA1C is not quite there - yet. F$$ing pharmacy had only one ready. The sleeping pill- not life essential - girl at cash register do you need those too? Duh I did all 3 at the same time on line. She said the others wouldn’t be here until Saturday. Are you sure you need them? No I can go over a week without them. $&&%##+. So I went back today to get them. Had to send the dogs to jail a day early. Leaving too early tomorrow. Staff Sargent I’m married to has to be there no later than 2 hours before flight. Usually at least 3. Flight leaves at 9:55 AM so we are leaving our house at 6 AM.

Somehow I got snookered into participating in our Secret Satan (Santa) - taken from Dana Carvey & the church lady. I’ll be gone when our first installment is due. Got a nice Circle E candle for my SS. I live less than 2 miles away. No problem I’ll run it up to work. The dang Lutherans are at it again. Their annual cheesy (forgive me Lord) Nativity drive through had traffic backed up and the cops have the road blocked unloading 4 tour buses. So I had to detour. My 5-7 minute drive took 12 minutes.

My snarky organized husband has his bag packed and I can hear him sawing logs. My shit is strung out everywhere. Oh and last night I went to a Christmas Party for a committee I’m on at work. I threw a little temper tantrum to get on this committee so I decided I’d better act like a team player. So I have had little time to get my crap together.

I bought these cute little slip ons from Amazon - very comfy for my TSA strip search rendezvous. The nicely packed duffel in the back ground is Sgt Slaughter’s.

Also I picked one more round of tomatoes today. About 50 of them- mainly green. Will have to see if they ripen some when we get back. I’m headed to Tahoe 1st and then a couple of days in Vegas. Don’t know how much live reporting I’ll be doing- I guess it could make good nodding off material.

Getting ready to hit the hay- now my tomato and shoe porn.

I also opened my big mouth and told sgt Slaughter the Cowboy outdoor Christmas Hunter ExtravaganzaPalooza is going on st the convention center again. I should have kept my mouth shut. If you have never walked the convention concrete floor - from the Monorail stop- that had to be about 5 miles- or at least it feels that way- you are depriving your joints of an equivalent of a marathon.

    This is gonna be good.
You sound like me before a Vegas trip with the husband ready 2 days before
and me...well, running around trying to get things done before leaving.
Have a great time. If you're able, I'd sure love hearing about your shenanigans.
Love your snarky sense of humor too.
    Go get 'em, @vwhiten.
    I'm rooting for ya.

Thanks. I can’t just hit like on Tapatalk- the shoes are Ryka and cost $18- they had lots of good reviews. I hate having to take off & on cumbersome shoes. Here lately we have been TSA precheck but you never know.

It seems that I’m the one who gets the pat down. The gun enthusiast Marine who has to be on 100 different outdoor & gun mailing lists never gets profiled. WTF. But middle aged lady nurse gets pulled out about 50% of the time.

The last time I got patted down was this woman who was an ugly twin for That big tall Game of Thrones Lady - even my husband was scared.

She politely said she would use the back of her hands- as she forcefully pushed all around the boobs- in public - she offered me a private pat down— for real- I opted for a more discreet area until she told me it would be a long wait to get another agent over. So I let her cop a feel in public. I felt violated and I could see my husband snickering— I’m waiting for his turn and the body cavity search from Thor with XXXL hands.

I can picture your face though, with your dry streak, I bet that was cracking your hubby up too. I am sure it was a "you have to be friggin kidding me, do you value having all of your fingers" face :D

Its always funny when it's not them! My hope is you have a pat-down FREE trip. And have a BLAST, it's Tahoe!

In Phoenix waiting for connecting flight. I see a 2 year old named Eddie I want no part of. Apparently his parents don’t realize they are substantially bigger than little Eddie. But Eddie is in charge. He just knocked over an entire cup of coffee on the carpet.

Well... no worries on the winter weather impacting your drive up or back. Plenty cold, but clear and dry!

I always keep cash in my “vault” (bra) - would that be a problem during a TSA feel up?!

Weather is great. My husband is disappointed- he wanted a blizzard. Ha Ha.

Funny little TSA story in Austin. We check our bags and get boarding passes at the curb. TSA Precheck appears on our boarding passes. We get to the gate I get through no problem. The next thing I know the agent is calling me back he can’t let my husband through. When he scans the boarding pass it pops up female on his screen and his drivers license says male. I made the reservations on line so it must have been me clicking the wrong box. I was very tempted to argue with this agent about this day and age with gender neutrality what difference would it make. But I figured it was better to do as he said. We had to go up to the full service desk at SW and get a pass reprinted with the correct “sex”. I got a laugh out of it. My husband - not so much.

Both legs were completely full. I Rented a car from Budget and for a decent price until we opted for an SUV on the sale up to a full size for the price of a small SUV for $25 more a day. Ford Explorer- very nice. Our room at Tahoe is with a partial view a “free” upgrade. It is dated but still nice. I was exhausted yesterday. Played a little VP was up and down. Pay tables are 8/5 except on $1 machines 9/5 but I haven’t checked it out thoroughly. Also played My Cousin Vinnie slot machine - wasn’t impressed. Waiting for my husband to wake up so we can go grab some breakfast. Yesterday eats were not good. Mickey Ds for breakfast on the way to Airport and lunch again in Reno. Haven’t had a Quarter Pounder in many years- now I remember why. Dinner we decided on The Sports Bar inside Harvey’s- it is a weird set up. You order from the register and sit down with your number and they bring your food - no real wait service. You get your own soda etc. but if you want a drink you have to go to the bar inside the Sports Bar and order it and pay separately. - Philly Cheesesteaks- awful I ate 1/2 and was done.

Some pics of our room. Bathroom is good size. Separate shower and tub 2 sinks toilet in little closet by itself.

Sunrise- view from the room. Still waiting for sleepy head to wake up. We went to bed by 9 pm. It’s been 10 hours.

If you haven't been, let me suggest the following restaurants:

The Steakhouse on the 18th floor of Harrahs is darkly elegant, and at night the views are breathtaking.

Sushi Kai is on the second floor of Harrahs, and serves an excellent mix of sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine.

Casual dining can be had at the American River Cafe, in the lower level at Harrahs, or at the Forest Buffet. The Forest Buffet is not as "elegant" as a Las Vegas buffet, but also not the same price point.

After hours eats can be had at the Highlander Bar at the Forest Buffet (11PM - 6AM).

You call that a "partial" view? That's spectacular!

Is this Harvey's? What tower and what floor? Thanks!
