I just got an email from MGM Resorts about changes to the names of the different room types at Luxor:

    Revision to Tower Premium Room
    • Revise name to Tower Premium King Room
    • Maximum occupancy is 3
    New Tower Premium Queen Room
    • Maximum occupancy is 4
    Revision to Tower Luxury Suite
    • Revise name to Tower One Bedroom Suite
    • Maximum occupancy is 3
Tower Deluxe King Room and Tower Deluxe Queen Room will no longer be sold

They also included the following four images of the new Premium Room:

Nice. I’d love to see pictures of the tower one bedroom suite. Thanks for posting.

Those changes look very good to the rooms. I had no clue they were re-doing Tower rooms. The one thing I'll say though is those green chairs have to go. If they were a charcoal color to match the rest of the room that would look great. The green is just too out of place.

Me too. The green adds that "pop" of color to an otherwise drab color palette.

Hard to tell from pics but it looks like they knocked the remodel out of the park. Retro yet modern. So much more interesting than the drab thing they're doing with the rooms at Monte Carlo (again, at least judging by the pics). If I was basing a stay on rooms alone this would bump them above even MGM or Mirage for me.

*and I love the chairs too*

I stayed in one of those rooms on Thanksgiving week. It looked identical to the photos...green chairs and all. The doors use the newer passive RFID key card, convenient.

Love the Chartreuse color of the chairs! Just the right amount of contrast. Nice looking digs!

We really like the rooms, to the point Luxor is now on our "maybe we should try it" list. MC wanted to be a baby Aria, but I'm not seeing it in their design choices at all. Luxor I am though, good job Luxor!!!!!

I guess the re-model is why my offer for this month is in a Cleo room, usually my offers are for Tower rooms... I haven't been in the pyramid for a few years - looking forward to doing it again for old times sakes!

These look great. I like Luxor anyway as an affordable option with decent rooms. Even better now. Love the color scheme, too.

Don't you know we live in the time frame where everything looks like it was purchased out of a IKEA store.

I like it! Luxor has always been my home casino and this is a long overdue and a welcome change.

Staying there this Friday on a 3 night comp. I had the Deluxe Tower Room booked. I called earlier today and asked about the newly remodeled rooms. They upgraded me to the newly remodeled premium tower room at no charge!

I miss the old Egyptian decor. All the hotels just look the same to me now. Boring.

I'm with you. I really wish all the theming that used to be throughout Vegas had stayed. I guess the big wigs now want everything to look alike. Boring....

I keep hoping someday the theming will cycle back around. The Luxor was one of the best in its day. We never wanted to stay anywhere else, even paying for the extra room nights. Now we stay various places to get comped. Paris seems to be one of the best at still having some themes they aren’t ashamed of.

Can anyone explain the difference between the new "Tower Elite King" and "Tower Premium King" rooms? Apart from a whopping 1 square foot difference, they look identical.
