“A Quick One, While He’s Away”: thecarve (and Pop) @ Cosmo, 11/20 -11/22

What’s up gang?! Hope you’re all well.

Tomorrow, well before the rooster crows, me and my old man shall set off for Sin City. At roughly 48 hours from touch down to take off, this will be the shortest trip to Vegas I’ve taken in ages. Considering we’re coming from Virginia – with a layover – this is going to be a lot of hassle for such a short time in town. I’m no spring chicken and the old man is older than dirt, so this might hurt a bit. But, thecarve men are dyed-in-the-wool degenerates, so…

We’re staying at Cosmo. Originally, I wanted to get back to Wynn. But the weather looked so nice that I decided to call an audible so that we could enjoy those terraces. As we’re there for such a short time, I doubt that we’ll stray too far from the mid-strip area (maybe a trip down to Carnevino – a fave of both of ours). Apologies to those who enjoy TRs where the protagonist gets around.

As I alluded to earlier, we’re both degenerate gamblers. I like VP, dad likes the old school slots. We both enjoy a stint or two at the blackjack and craps tables. So, hopefully, I’ll have some hand-pay and/or chip porn to share. If not, I’ll try not to whine too much (no promises!)

I love to eat. And since I’m also kinda obsessed with my fitness, I only allow myself to go nuts on certain occasions…Vegas trips are one of those occasions. So, I’m going to do my best to get (more than) my fill in that short 48-hour window I have available. Hope the old man can keep up! I haven’t decided on the restaurant line-up yet (mid-strip suggestions are more than welcome) but there will be a steak, maybe lunch at Milos, probably use my Platinum 2-for-1 Wicked Spoon benefit for breakfast Tuesday…

In addition to being degenerate gamblers, we thecarve men are also “alcohol enthusiasts” (shout out to @ardee for the convenient euphemism!) So, there will be booze…and hopefully a few photogenic cocktails to share.

Since this is such a short trip and I won’t be solo this time, I probably won’t get around to updating as often as I did last time. But I’ll do my best.

I too, love to eat, and Vegas is the best goddamn place to do it in my opinion!

I've spent weeks pouring over spreadsheets and trying to come up with food places to eat...so far I think I've got Weds all worked out, and Thanksgiving's dinner reservation is booked, but Friday I have no idea. My dad doesn't drink - so it'll be more alcohol for me!

 

Landed early...caught the tram perfectly...bags waiting on the carousel...better not be using up all my luck at McCarran!

31st. The view is a little obstructed by the bell tower. But still pretty damn sweet.

 

I love the Cosmo 1 bedroom! Is that round thing next to the chair in the living room area a lamp? I hope they have a Black Friday sale on rooms again!
